Remember.... this as a SUPER CHARGNED ENGINE. NOT Only does the engine breath better, the intake acts like a pully change, to give MORE PSI boost. This will make more power.
I'd like to see the same test comparing stock to a quality air filter. I heard many people say that the good air filter for $50 will give almost as good of gains as a several hundred dollar CAI.
Interesting with the cold air intake. A tune, on top of that, would be interesting. Glad to give you a boost and hope you can return the favor. We have about the same count.
@urbex2007 Why don't you go to your "lab" and show all of us people who have never been to a dyno, built a block and raced cars how it is. You seem to have all the answers without actually proving a thing. Surface area does not mean jack if the medium of the material blocks the airflow. I used to deal with extreme blowers and exhaust units and I can tell you that the design and quality of the medium plays a massive part.
@@captaincallout1492 doesn't add power to the motor, but you will lose less getting to the ground. Put stocks back on and you will have more power to the dyno drum. Also, your gearing changes with tire size, which impacts how quick your motor gets to the peak power/torque.
@@UncleDonDon The outer diameter of the tire is probably about the same. The sidewall height is much higher and the rim diameter is smaller so the sidewalls wrinkle on launch with the drag radials.
It is apparently GM uses the same intake from the Stingray for the Z06 which only has 460 HP so replacing the intake with a free flowing unit slows the car to actually breathe!
Yea dude Jim Hall is the MAN! I can’t wait to get his 112 carbon fiber CAI for my C6Z, $832 but would be well worth the $!! Will start uploading soon. Like your car man. But yea I’ll start uploading vids of my car soon
Hi there, I have a 2016 Stingray Z51, which chip is a good plug and play you'd suggest that has great quality and best reviews? I've seen some that will get it from 460hp to 500hp but I'm still a little skeptical on those that run about $250 only. Would love your input. Everything else on the car is stock and only has about 5k miles on the car as well. It's the 7speed manual trans.
I'm pretty sure the Z06 has 650hp... is this a Grand Sport? I'm confused. I have the Z51 C7 with only 450hp and it's fast I can't even imagine 100hp more... that's amazing 🏎💨......🔥
k80jean09 it has 650 hp at the back of the engine. You loose around 25% hp with automatic trans to the rear wheels or the ground. This is just picking up the loss.
Don't wanna cut my arm and leg off and install it to find out it runs to lean and have to take it off since I don't wanna void the warranty with a tune
Would love to tell u it would be fine without a tune, but every car is different, lol. The car did a great job of picking up on the extra air and added fuel/timing, hence the tune really didn't help much, just made it smoother curve.
Nice additional horse power with a simple bolt on. If you decide to post another video maybe solicit the help of an interpreter? For us non-hillbilly types, it’s difficult to understand exactly what ya’ll are a saying when ya’ll are a talkin’’.
Very impressed with the big jump for just intake 💪🏼
2016 zo6 stock pull 555 with afe 589 with borla x pipe 604. This stuff works,on factory tune.
Wow people with brains actually putting in work and proving intakes actually work like the engineers who built them intended.
Remember.... this as a SUPER CHARGNED ENGINE. NOT Only does the engine breath better, the intake acts like a pully change, to give MORE PSI boost. This will make more power.
it certainly does NOT act like a pulley change. in fact the opposite.
I can't even imagine the mental gymnastics required to actually think this is true.
stock with 15" beadlocks ? lol

the car was tuned in the last part of video, car pretty much tuned itself, lol!

Noticing the drag wheels on the back....
Don't think wheels and tires add power, lol...

that's a heck of a jump just from a cold air intake. the stock one must be very restrictive
yea I know, its night and day drivin it now!

G’all dang that’s quite a boost. I wonder if swapping the x-pipe and dropping the 2nd cat would also give it an increase
That was a great video. They should reimburse you for the cost of the filter because I’m sold on getting one.
Wow, great video. I've got a '17 Z06/07. This is good info. Cheers :)
Does the supercharger whine more now ?

Damn, what in tarnation was chevy thinking putting on such a restrictive stock intake!
without tune it made great gains, was the air to fuel ration really high without adjustments? High knock?
you suppose go easy on your first 1000mile!!
That's no fun, lol!
That's a damn good jump in rwhp if u ask me 😎
yea very impressive across the curve, well worth the money!
where to purchase that air intake?
How much would it be to buy the part and have it installed like this? Plus the tune?

But Scotty Kilmer said you will lose power and the car will run like crap.
I'm not brave enough to handle that much torque on a road course

Yea its a zo6, lol
Z06s have 650hp at the crank but around 550hp at the wheel
PB0Y1834 oh that makes since, I just learned something I didn't know...(whispers) sorry I'm a girl
k80jean09 great question

Why does it look like your rear wheel was different from the front wheel?
It has 15in rear conversion with welds with pros.
Is it running lean?
No, direct injection is different...
I have a c7 z06 in red also and I spent my whole damn day researching if the halltech will make it run lean without a tune lol
Don't wanna cut my arm and leg off and install it to find out it runs to lean and have to take it off since I don't wanna void the warranty with a tune

Snake oil...BMS Air filter renders the same results 11whp gain. Facts.
Cold air intake does NOT produce HP!! Just sounds cool to those that don't know.
Really???? So better air flow doesn't produce more power??? Not what physics says. of course better flow produces better power.
...so say the man who dont understand...!
Its okay that you can’t afford it
IT does add power providing the tune was rich in the first place and computer adjusts air fuel ratios close to stoichiometric.
Crack kills😂
