This is one of my favorite tracks from you. It represents for me the life of millions of working class people that face the mundane and never changing, constant flow of life that they are bound under. How it drags on, stretching for years, sometimes even lifetimes. And that for one to change, one must do the unthinkable. The unimaginable. Break free from that routine. To see the world in a different light, to go out there and make a mark for yourself. The world is not in your books or papers. It is out there, in the big wide world. Home is behind us, the world is ahead. So thank you Marcus for showing me this light. I watch this video everyday to remind myself what I must do, and that every second is precious, what you do with your life. To be either be proud of where you have come in 10 years, or be forgotten in the silence of the night.

" *Tell me though, young one...* "
    "What is it?"
    "Do you understand time?"
"...what kind of a question is that?"
"A question of much importance, my dear."
"Of course I know what time is!"
    *silence*
    "Ah... but do you really?"
*He sighs and leans towards me.*
"I ask you this, young one, for a reason. You, who still have... so much time."
    "What do you mean?"
*He sighs again, trying to find the right words.*
"Time is the force that drives everything. From the light of the stars to the whisper of the wind. It is everywhere around us, hidden from our eyes yet clearly visible, setting great plans in motion and tearing them apart, giving life to the soul and taking it away. Yet we can easily forget of its presence."
    *I stared at him, confused.*
    "I... don't think I understand."
"Oh... I know you don't. And neither did I... until I had no choice."
*He leans back again in his chair, looking at me.*
"I remember being in your place. A careless young soul, pure and whole, still unharmed by this universe we live in. Eager for adventure, to see and feel all that there is to experience. Fearless, energetic, free..."
    *His eyes close.*
"How wonderful was this illusion. So powerful, so real... I felt as if I had the whole world in the palm of my hand. I was unstoppable. Unchained. Untamable. And this universe was all mine to conquer, ready to welcome me with open arms, its new ruler and savior..."
    *He signs yet again.*
    "I still don't understand."
*He stares at me, his expression indecipherable.*
"Worry not yourself with the blubbering of an old man, dear. There are greater things that require your attention. A whole lifetime of them, in fact."
    "But you said-"
"What I said matters not. But hear me out, as what follows does."
*He leans towards me once more.*
"We can be many things, young one. We, the children of this very universe, were given the most precious of gifts: the gift of freedom. The freedom to choose the path in which we walk and to shape the future it leads us to. From the greatest of rulers to the simplest of peons, inside us all is the same soul, unbound from all binds. And unbound we are indeed, for there is nothing that is out of our reach."
*He pauses, and suddenly great sadness fills his face.*
"But time has other plans for us. In its eyes, we are no rulers nor peons. We are but another insignificant shard of existence, temporary and fragile. And just as man squashes a bug under his foot without noticing, so can time, even unknowingly, shatter us. One sweeping move... one flick of the wrist... and all that you are is no more."
    *silence*
"What... what should I do, then?"
*He does not answer at first and just continues to look at me with the same great sadness.*
    "Master?"
    *He remains silent.*
    "Grandpa? Answer me!"
    *Finally, he sighs yet again.*
"Do not follow in my steps, dear. I was foolish to not use this gift I was given. But you, on the other hand... have so much time."
*He looks directly into my eyes.*
"And this is what I ask of you, my beloved dear. The hands of the clock will never cease to move, and neither must you. Waste not a minute, for it will not return, and time will come for you as well, whether you are prepared or not. Blaze your trail and conquer your future. Let your spirit soar like a bird, far into the skies and beyond them, reaching all that there is to reach. Take hold of it all, as it is yours by right."
    *He smiles.*
    "And always remember...
...it is all *A Matter of Time* ."

I've been caught in a loop in life lately. Just the daily grind, doing what's necessary to get by each day, saving what I can for what little amount of days I can enjoy off. Instead of drowning myself in depression or apathy, I found my way back to this song and have been listening to it everyday before I clock in for work and after I am finished to remind that it's only just a matter of time. It's not all just meaningless.
"Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."

This guy has a good job for his living, but he is not happy, he feels empty inside, he is lost in the crowd, he feels he is different and he does not understand why.
until he realizes that some one has handed him a key, he realizes his destiny and sets his journey and reaches his goal.
there on the mountains he finds himself full and filled with himself.
we all wonder a lot until we find who we are and what we are and ones we know our destiny, we have to reach there.
and that should be done in time. because it is all a matter of time. if the time is gone, the clock would stop ticking and so is your heart. So hurry.
Every one is born for a reason. ones you know the reason you must not waste even a single moment of your life.
thank you for the wonderful message

I just watched Dunkirk again yesterday, so the ticking clock theme here made me think of the overture theme for that movie. Both are similar in that they give off the sense of time elapsing, with Dunkirk feeling tense with the feeling of running out of time while this felt like being mindful of time and it’s finiteness. Excellent work in capturing that in your work, it is up there with Dunkirk in amazing quality! Keep up the great work, mate!

....hot damn. That... was, *is* sensational. I've been listening to your stuff ever since Evening Star, and each time I'm blown away. • @DokuganRyu28
      @DokuganRyu28 6 років тому +4

Mysterian I accually do doubt that. It's not like hanz Zimmer will lose fame over time and since Marcus isn't as heavily involved in film scoring (don't get me wrong, I love the fact that he isn't) he will most likely never become as popular.

    • @sindrimyr5351
      @sindrimyr5351 6 років тому +6

Mysterian My personal hero is Still The Man, the Myth, The Legend..Thomas Bergersen....but Marcus is second....Zimmer is Good but yeah he is a bit overrated, Maybe its because I prefere Thomas Style more.

    • @DokuganRyu28
      @DokuganRyu28 6 років тому +2

Thomas is certainly very good but I think marcus 's music is more complex and he has a wider skillset. Thomas doesnt seem to include much variation in his music so for me Thomas comes second.
