Because of this video we purchased a CX-50 in machine Gray. Select trim . Fit and finish top notch. Zoom Zoom
Congratulations!
I bought the 2024 CX-50 Select in November and absolutely love it. I got it in Polymetal Grey and I get a lot of compliments. The interior had everything that I needed and it looks beautiful. Drives so nice!!! Highly recommend this car. Thank you for the great review. I really enjoy your content.
That’s exactly what I’m looking for not many select models in my area hopefully inventory will increase soon
Johnathan, we still can virtually not get a CX 50 up here in Ontario. CX 90 and CX 5 are filling our lots. I just took delivery of a CX 5 Signature in Rhodium White which was on the lot...no waiting.
They supply you with hand held paper fan to add to your comfort 😊
I absolutely agree with this title. Ingot blue for me though.
I do as well. I got the Ingot Blue and it is NICE! I didn't want any other color available. When the sun hit's it, it can project a greenish hue, and at other times a dark blue. I love it!
Hope they putting Sirius XM on all models!
That CX-50 looks sharp in black, but I'll stick with my favorite color, Soul Red Crystal Metallic.
The zircon sand really fits it well too.
Does this have dual panels windows as the cx5
So there’s no sunroof on the select package? Because I don’t want one. Plus stop/start shouldn’t be on it since it isn’t a turbo right?
I got the CX 50 select in Ingot Blue. LOVE IT!!! I didn't want a sunroof neither and no, it does not have one. And lastly, it does not have stop and go. If that's what you meant by "stop/start".
Start stop option is a trash but great for mechanic in future
It does have cylinder deactivation. Jonathan made a video how it works on the mazda.
Recorded horizontally:)
Mazda has much work to do with this car. Nice car perfect size to some degree. Get rid of the cladding and needs the 8 speed transmission ITS A MUST. Also water doesn’t bead off it goes in
I really struggle to look past the thick black PLASTIC trim. Not a fan of plastic on exterior, especially large pieces. It just doesn't age well vs the paint over the years. Especially if left exposed to the sun and elements all the time. I was happy to see the CX-5 eventually did away with it, so maybe the CX-50 will soon too. Any word on a hybrid version on the CX-50 coming?
The CX 50 kinda looks like the new BMW XM just a smaller version
Are the 17" Black wheels back in stock for the Select & PP trims?
Yes
My 23 Prefered Plus has the gray wheels.
I like them better than the gloss black. The black scratches so easily. I've had them before and glad my car doesn't have them.
The back SEAT in that Mazda CX 50 can only be comfortable for kids not adults. I love that CX 50
Why is that?
@@lagranarob-3881 Back seat is not comfortable
What does it look for the rear lights at night?
They look in red
Does Mazda have strong AC across the line? I'd be worried that a car like this would be a rolling solar oven where I live. 116F today.
My 2020 CX-5 AC works good in the Phoenix hot summer.
In TN in a black unit demoed, the AC was weak.
does this trim have lane keep?
Yea
Do not know why Mazda use the cheaper rear torsion beam suspension on this.. this is the only reason i will not buy this. Even Corolla has independent suspension
The torsion beam is more durable than a multilink suspension. Less bushings and less parts to wear and replace. Since it's more durable and this is intended to go somewhat off road , that's why they used it.
You do know that this is based on the cx-30 platform... only that this is extended.
You should try to go on a test drive.
Why Mazda doesn’t have a remote start?
Officially, their remote start is through the smartphone app. There are some aftermarket, plug and play options available also
@@JSS unfortunately the APP doesn’t work in LATAM
Newsflash Jon! Bright sunny days are not good for photography, lots of glare and shadows. An overcast day is much more conducive in many respects.
You won't be sweating as much too.
Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes have to go with what’s there if I want to get the video done.
Got my select and I’ve got the ingot blue like another fellow on the comments .
Congratulations!
no panoramic on the select trim? 😢
No, and I wish I didn't have it on the higher trims. I wish it and the turbo was available throughout all trims because those 2 things are much of what separates the customer base. I take it you like the sunroof. OK it is you doing you, me, I don't want one but... am stuck with one at Preferred Plus and up. You have to get way on up to get the turbo.
Jonathan Sewell, This car, like Mazda lately, seems to have an identity crisis. It's trying to do too much and with some of the weakest tech in the industry, Merick4620 likes a sunroof - for me it's a negative. But I hate to pay up for lumbar, power liftgate, remote start, power seats, heated steering wheel and seats all around - and NATIVE NAV. The Select buys basic transportation with a warranty with a little style. The stretch is long overdue. I applaud that.
So why not get back to Mazda's roots eh? How about a Turbo Select? (old school Zoom Zoom). This thing (CX-50) plays at being a sports car and Outback substitute (which are totally different). Why not be progressive and make it a modern hybrid (Big blue city draw - not so off-roady). Interior trim, with bad tech that lags the field (not luxury) but Sun roof and Leather very near Select sorta would hint at luxury for the buck. When you try to do too much, well... you tend toward mediocrity in everything.
It's a good basic car with a proven powerplant under the bonnet, functional storage in the back, improved but still wanting rear seat space, without spending a tonne of cash.
HORRIBLE IDEA TO RECORD A VIDEO AT DUSK . THE GLARE IS HORRIBLE.
Cx5 is more luxurious
because cx-5 is a luxury car, this car is meant to go places like camping and what not, cx-5 is a grocery runner and nothing else.
@@PlutoDoofus This is also a mid trim Select CX-50; CX-5 at the same price level trim are the Perferred/Carbon Edition which is only one step below the top trim (Premium Turbo).
So the SELECT has NO freakin moon or sun Roof?? Is that the only one-- can I get OTHER options from other things on this one? I want 18" wheels or even 17- can't stand those big ugly 20 inch wheels with skinny flat looking tires-- looks retarded... If i could get those two options-- that would be great..
Select comes with 17" wheels.
@@gailenrique2804 I KNOW-- but I want to get a PREMIUM or whatever the "loaded" version it-- but throw the 20" ugly eyesores away and put 17" on that with Wild Peak tires.. and a factory 1.5 inch lift.. I want one loaded- but willing to BUY the 17" ones separately and have them installed if not available.. I'd like NO panoramic roof either-- but doesn't seem to be much way to get around that.. I hate those- they're leaks waiting to happen..
@@davidwayne9982 you must be dreaming... since Mazda does not give all amenities without a pano roof. And that 1.5 lift is an aftermarket thing Mazda does not sell.
The 17" that Jonathan is showing on the video is what you get with select. On the rest of the lineup with the exception of the turbo meridian edition, you get 20" wheels. If a dealer is willing to swap tires... good luck finding one.
@@gailenrique2804 BS.. check your facts again. I've already inquired to purchasing -- the roof thing- yes- they are set on that-- but that ALMOST lost them the sale.. I don't like that part- it's just a LEAK waiting to happen- bad idea all around. The lift is A FACTORY lift- and they install it per special request at most dealers- at least around here.
@@gailenrique2804 NOT a matter of luck on the wheels-- I requested PURCHASING the wheels as an addtion to MY cost not the dealer and they have already said they would. $$$ motivates everything. and they were about to LOSE the sale.
