I really do appreciate you posting this video as its hard not to get down on yourself when almost all you see on social media is the times where people have perfect equitation, their horse is a saint, they get all the perfect distances, etc. 😊
I agree. 99.9% of the time I only see equestrians showing the best parts of their lives with their horses. I get down on myself when I can’t be like them but then videos like these remind me that no one in the equestrian world is perfect all of the time. We all are learning something new everyday through the good and the bad.
I thought from the side eye from Dee it was going to be an interesting time. She proved herself throughout with some very fancy footwork. Very unlucky with the 20 penalty points. Oh Jam you do realise that you won’t be going to anymore pony parties with Dee! All things considered Meg you did an amazing job keeping her going through dressage. Showjumping well these things happen, you did the right thing by turning it into a semi training session. I absolutely love the banter between you, Hobbit and Han it just makes the vlog even more enjoyable xx hope you are feeling better Meg x
The vlog was still fun to watch even though things did not go so well again this time around. It gives me confidence to still go on even if I mess up or get things wrong in every part of my life. These things happen and life can’t be perfect all of the time and I appreciate you uploading this video.
A long tough day, but valuable lessons to take home along with two healthy ponies and a healthy rider. Hobbit is competitive and expects excellence, I love her for that.
Oh that was a mean 20 . Boooo judges .. Dee was so brave. Just not Jams day . Antsy from the start today . Great Volg showing the highs and lows of eventing Megs
It’s the fact you take issues from the event and use those to progress at the next event, also how your always making sure that the ponies are happy and safe well done team elphick…. One day it will come together at an event Dee Dee looked fabulous! Jam looked great so unfortunate for the elimination and poles 😕❤️
Disappointments aside, the footage of your first dressage test looked like something out of pride and prejudice ahaha. All dewy with the sunlight coming through the trees 😍
Aww Megan !!All i can say is: at least you try! There's so many people out there just go in for the sake of going, you go in taking out the best in every circumstance!! Xxx
I hope you get Hobbit to agree to take Jam out again. She was just distracted and needs now to have a positive day out with you and the support crew. Well done with Dee she was amazing.
Your vlogs are refreshing and fun, I'd much rather watch your content than a lot of other equestrian 'influencers' who like to pretend that they're perfect all the time.
Stable mates simply can't cope with separation at an event. Totally annoying but that's horses. You did soooooo well despite that. Tomorrow's another day.
Awwww, it seemed like Jammy isn’t a morning girl and didn’t like being up that early! And then she was just kind of dragging her feet. Well, it just wasn’t her day. But she’ll have so many more opportunities to show what a fine jumper she is! And both girls are so gorgeous and talented and honest. You are so, so lucky!
I really appreciate videos and posts like this! It's always great to see the off days of riding and competing days. I just had one of those recently. just something wasn't vibing between me and my pony mare. We refused every single jump and had to retire in the warm up. We can casually jump 3' courses no problem, but we couldn't even get through the 2' schooling. It happens to all of us, but again it's nice to see others going through the same. Thank you!!!
thank you for showing us the good and the bad side of riding, I love your honesty! I know how disappointing these situations can be but there's definitely so much we can learn from them! anyways, don't worry megs, hold your head up, you guys will definitely do better next time xx 💗
Yesss you used my video clips 😍 Loved watching you both! So glad a managed to catch Han to airdrop them over so they kept their quality! Even the top event riders have their bad days, these are what make them great in the future! You still smashed it in my eyes ❤️
So true. At the Maryland five star today, one of our top professionals and the other scratched. There was a huge storm coming, and it wasn’t their day.
Well bloomin ridden in the SJ with Jam, you should be so proud the way you ride your horses. It’s inspiring. I wish every horse was treated with so much respect and love like this. X
We are all here for the good, bad, and ugly, cause only an idiot would think it goes perfect all the time and us Meg and pony stans really appreciate you bringing us along on your journey!❤💪🐎🐎 P.S. tell Han she is a good camera woman and a few horsey cameos are welcomed. I can never get enough of seeing new and gorgeous horses.
Exactly, it is always interesting to see other horses at the same event. It always reminds me how much smaller the Connemaras are, which is why Meg has repeatedly reminded herself that she has to up the effort in cross-country to make the time :) Though, that one horse walking in front of Dee basically blocking her out of the whole shot was kind of funny, added to the entertainment aspect, Hanna -- you are a good camera person and commentator :)
What can I say. You tried and had an off day. Maybe more competitions Dee and Jam should be taken together- only way they will get used to it especially Jam. Can’t wait to see the next video 😊🇦🇺
Oh Jam reminds me so much of my patchy pony. Super pony! And then she gets worried about a buddy and has a bad day that leaves me wondering who she even is.
absolutely loved meeting you at hoys!!! you’re so lovely!! everyone’s picked up some sort of cold from there oops! but don’t let anything get you down meg you’re an amazing individual, we all have our bad and good days 💕💕
This was an amazing vlog! Even though it didn't go well, you were still so positive and you rode amazingly! Hopefully the next events go better, but even so, there is always next year!
Meggy, Han and Hobs (Jeanette? I’m wanting to spell your name right and can spell Hobbit just fine 😆) never change your sense of humour!! It’s the best!
I'm only riding for three years now so not that qualified, but apart from the showjumping with Jam you've done so well and can still be so proud! With horses and humans it's always so much that has to come together for it to be right and there's so many variables where things can go wrong so don't beat yourself up! You're a super rider still and you have just as stunning ponies :)
Thank you for keeping it real and showing not everything goes smoothly I agree DeDe was good and Jam just wasn’t concentrating on anything oh well things happen that’s what owning horses and eventing etc is all about but onwards and upwards on to the next one or next schooling session but thank you for taking us along with you
There was a moment in Dee's dressage test where you rode her directly in front of the sun rise and it was literally the most beautiful moment❤ For every outing and competition you do with them, you learn something and advance in your riding, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. Now you know that Dee needs more support and urging to the water, and Jam can pull herself together for a decent dressage test even when she's super distracted but jumping doesn't hold her focus as well, so maybe go home and set up the most distracting thing you can think of outside the arena and get her focus back. Maybe get Han to ride Dee to and away from the arena while your jumping Jam in it 🤷♀️ and while you are bummed about this, just remember, it could be worse. My horse dumped me a few months ago when some fireworks went off outside, I thought I was fine, got back on a few days later, everything was going good and then Surprise!!! I'm scared of sudden noises while riding now. 🤦♀️ My horse is fine, but I'm literally nauseous at any sounds and it's even worse after dark. So I'll be over here working on my confidence, while watching your vlogs and wishing I could even trot a pole without having mild cardiac arrest 😆
Oh goodness Meg 😭 Bless Dee for trying her heart out! You kept Jammy together so well in the dressage, was such a shame about her show jumping :( the vlogs are always so entertaining though, all 5 of you are hilarious! Glad you and the ponies came back safe too!
Very honest vlog! 👏 Could you just please tell Han, to stand between the sun and you and not the other way around? 🙈🙈 I would love to be able to see your face when you talk… 😉
I thought both mares produced beautiful Dressage tests and Dee fairly flew around the XCountry and SJ phases (4 faults is forgivable.) Jam was just not into it today was she - the little tinker. Both ponies - and you too Meg were beautifully turned out. Great team work ladies!
Well done Meg. Dee was brilliant out there, absolutely sailing over those fences. Jam i think it was not your day my love. You just weren't feeling it and Well done for having a school around those showjumps Meg. X
I’ve got COVID and can’t see my horse until Sunday so this vlog is cheering me up Meg !! Everyone has bad days and your amazing even on your bad days 🤩 💕
Don't bet you self up so hard the only thing is your all ok and no one is hurt physically and your home with the pony's. I think you did realy well with Dee so it fine. Have a good day and the pony's! 🐎🐴🦄😍😘💓💞
Bravo for shifting gears on the fly. Really I saw few things in your ride, this was just a horse that wasn't mentally present in the moment and you did so well going into schooling mode and trying to recover something for the sake of your horse.
Absolutely no one has perfect days all the time when it comes to riding horses, especially doing eventing. Other people said it, and I agree with them, I'm glad you show us the good days and the not so good ones. If your videos were always about how perfect things are, they wouldn't be realistic, and we wouldn't be able to relate. Your trying to do something that involves other creatures with minds of their own, and some days just aren't great ones for all kinds of reasons.
Exactly!! I went showjumping for the first time the other day, lost a stirrup then only went and missed out a jump 🤦🏽♀️ but sometimes that’s just how it goes, and you have to look at the silver lining and use the mistakes to learn from. It’s never a wasted day as long as you learn from it. X
Poor girls! I well, better job Next time. I see lots of extra practice in ur future! Have fun! Practicing traveling together then being separated and made to concentrate on job @ hand can b as important as pole work!
Dee I think had a super day today! Her xc round was amazing until that little bleep but tbh I don’t think it should’ve counted because she did in fact go down after a couple of steps to the side! Jam on the other hand….baby steps as we all say 🥲🥲
Just a tip for the cross country app you can go back and put in the optimum time and speed after you’ve walked it if they’re not up and it’ll give you the minute markers then 😊
Well I enjoyed the vlog, and credit where credit is due, hobbit was very tactful and not at all scathing, get her that crystal ball for Chimborazo and she will be a happy hobbit again x
Aww Meg, so proud you posted this, it takes a lot of courage to show them bad days. Think of it as experience you got her out and even though it didn’t go the best, there is still some positives. Don’t get too bogged down Meg, this is your chance to go ur there next time and kick everyone’s bums! Love your channel so much xxx

Meg after dressage: you've got two more phases!
Jam: lemme do something about that
Can we just appreciate the determination Meg had with carrying on with Jam Bam..... well done Meg xx
The sunrise in the trees in the back during dressage looked absolutely gorgeous
The vlog was still fun to watch even though things did not go so well again this time around. It gives me confidence to still go on even if I mess up or get things wrong in every part of my life. These things happen and life can’t be perfect all of the time and I appreciate you uploading this video.
The dressage in a landscape that needs to be painted in oils. Just beautiful!
A long tough day, but valuable lessons to take home along with two healthy ponies and a healthy rider. Hobbit is competitive and expects excellence, I love her for that.

Why don’t you compete bear any more
I miss her😢
She has just had a foal!So she needs some time off.But I'm sure Meg will start backing her again:)
I love that you still post these videos even when things go wrong! We are all human!
I love watching the reality of eventing and the honesty and love watching your vlogs xxx
Me too and I appreciate those who show us views the honest things that happen in the horse world being good or bad

The dressage was beautiful 🤩 someone better have gotten a picture 🙌🥰

As my trainer always says:
ITS OK! Who cares who’s watching? What’s important is that you had fun-not that you won.
That’s a good trainer right there
I love how you show the good the bad and the ugly xx
What can I say. You tried and had an off day. Maybe more competitions Dee and Jam should be taken together- only way they will get used to it especially Jam. Can’t wait to see the next video 😊🇦🇺

the chat on the way to the venue is always my favourite part of the video hahaha makes me smile so much
Oh Jam reminds me so much of my patchy pony. Super pony! And then she gets worried about a buddy and has a bad day that leaves me wondering who she even is.

Oh dear Meg, not a very productive eventing day far too early for you all better luck on the next one. Feel better all three of you.tfs😎🐎😎

I was so so so so so so impressed watching Dee's round. She did soooooooooooooooo well.
Loved the vlog you three are great together, lightened the mood to the serious side of.eventing.

So funny watching this now to find in 22 she did so brilliantly at Badmenton xx
Poor girls! I well, better job Next time. I see lots of extra practice in ur future! Have fun! Practicing traveling together then being separated and made to concentrate on job @ hand can b as important as pole work!
Meg: “The way life works. . .” Truly said!
That's the way it goes...it's all part of the experience. But it looks like you had a good time anyway!
Hope you feel better and get well and I like the way you ride your horse
We all have off days but mistakes are learning curves xx
Dee I think had a super day today! Her xc round was amazing until that little bleep but tbh I don’t think it should’ve counted because she did in fact go down after a couple of steps to the side! Jam on the other hand….baby steps as we all say 🥲🥲
At least you're honest x.
Uh oh Meg, doesn't always go to plan as you know! :)
You sound like hollie Willoughby 🤣 well done for the event tho and posting anyways xx
Home with ponies safe, and I love Han's sotto voce comments during her filming. Good luck at Bicton!
Hannah has gotten soooo much more comfortable in front of the camera lol.
Dude, I’ve been eliminated at my last TWO shows for too many poles so it can always be worse 😂
So excited for this vlog!!
Meg I love your new voice 😂💀
