    You can just tell he is presenting with his heart, loves what he does and educating the public about it.

    It's a real plesure to be able to open these without a huge blast of music which usually forces me to turn the volume down. Thank you Australia. For the peace. 👍😊

    What a great presentation! You are so calm and confident! I would love for my internal medicine physician, whom I admire, to start a clinic like this. She is such a positive “no blame” type of a person. It is so needed in this area. Will discuss this with her as I really don’t know of any LCHF physicians around (Houston Tx). I know my cardiologist is going to have a stroke when I tell him what I am doing. 6 weeks on this lifestyle now and I have never felt better. Thanks Dr Westman.

      Deborah Narendorf My cardio, internist and endocrinologist were all pushing me to get on statins and not eat all that fat! I’ve been on for 6 months. I lost 30 pounds, my triglycerides are now good, my HDL elevated significantly and I insisted my LDL be further tested for type. I learned they are 85% the large fluffy harmless kind! Each time I have my cholesterol tested, it is better. I read Cholesterol Clarity early on and I suggest you do the same. KETO ON! Oh, and did I mention that I am no longer pre-diabetic?? 😍😍😍😍😍

      With 68 pulses its rarely a sign of anything wrong. There are facts that we dont know about, such as if the patient was stressed on that day, or if he had a snack, if he had a birthday and he ate something other than LCHF compliant food, if he had taken any medication for whatever reason(even ibuprofane or an aspirin could spike your pressure) or even if he binged on non LCHF food during the holidays. Remember that the test is January 18th so 2 weeks after new years feasts...In the intermediate scan the markers are all good. So for me this chart shows a patient that has done some food mischief during Christmas and New Year or if i was certain that he stayed true to the dietary observations of LCHF he would need more tests. Again what we say is speculative but a high systolic pressure doesnt mean anything. Now if the diastolic was 110 or 120 then there would be reason to worry...

    Dr. Westman: I think that you're great and I've read all of your books, but similar to the New Atkins approach, there is almost no discussion of good quality here. Atkins products are low carb, but the ingredients are generally terrible and not health promoting in my view.
    Advising people to use Splenda and to drink Diet Coke isn't really ideal. Sure, perhaps some people will need to do that initially, and perhaps for some, forever, but at least have the discussion that food quality is also important. Other than that, thanks for your incredible contribution. I see that you addressed this issue on one slide at the end. I guess I just think it's more important than you do.

    Why do you need LC and HF? Just stop eating all the time. Also fat oxidation is not that pure as glucose oxidation is. Isnt it?

    • @geelee2964
      @geelee2964 7 років тому

      Artem Gnezdilov because the HF help you to stay full longer so you could eat less without feeling hungry. And Keto makes your body to burn fat as a fuel instead glucose.

    • @artemgnezdilov1549
      @artemgnezdilov1549 7 років тому

      That was my point fat as fuel not that clear as glucose. To stop feeling hungry you need to fix your head not to trick it.

    • @WallOSFC
      @WallOSFC 7 років тому +8

      Actually burning fat is a cleaner fuel than glucose. It's more efficient and produces less oxygen species (free radicals). Also beta hydroxy butyrate the main ketone has been shown to up regulate anti oxidant gene expression. There are more advantages to switching to a fat metabolism than just "fixing your head". Storing body fat is more of a hormonal issue not managing insulin and not simply an eating too much problem. Some people are more insulin resistant than others and this causes weight gain. Eating low carb controls insulin better than any other way of eating.

    is this the same doctor who promotes a 10 day "cleanse" where people who are unwilling to track food intake, instead have a feeding tube inserted , supplying a ketogenic liquid diet?

      It's funny how you are on every low carb video on youtube. Seems like some weird freudian thing for me. You need to get your feelings straight.
