Ecumenical Catholic Church Ordains Bishop

As the Roman Catholic Church grapples with sex abuse scandals by priests worldwide, its splinter group in Kenya, Ecumenical Catholic Church has ordained yet another bishop, one John Karimi. The 47 year old reverend born in Mahigaini Village of Kirinyaga County was consecrated last at Good Samaritan Secondary School in Mwea few metres away from his home. Alex Kubasu with more details.

they should not have married and broke the rule however the church must move to married priests. It is only a matter of time in the Western Church since allthe other rites of the Catholic church ordain married men-not as bishops though. Only the Latin Rite refuses to move back to the original state of married clergy. It makes sense in many ways to have a celibate and unattached priest-this is why we have so much more evangelism in the western church abecause priests can give their whole lives to the gospel but it makes less sense today and especially in Africa and other places where the rule is foreign. It was also foreign to the westerm church for a thousand years. Holy Spirit will decide.
