- SPECIAL BONUS EPISODE! This week, I went orchid hunting at Logee's Tropical Plants, a historic destination garden center and plant nursery, open year-round in Danielson, CT. Spoiler alert: I FOUND SOME!
This short tour highlights the 6 STUNNING tropical greenhouses that make Logee's so famous. You will be blown away by the Fern House (the oldest greenhouse dating back to 1892), the Herb House (culinary and medicinal #plants), the Potting House (the most incredible variety of passion flowers, spice plants and #bonsai), the Lemon Tree House (home to an impressive selection of #citrus and #orchids, and the Big House (home to #cactus, #succulents, #geraniums, #camellias, and #clivia).

I LOVE Logees. Such a unique experience. Not like any other “greenhouse” I’ve ever visited. It’s definitely worth a whole afternoon of meandering!
Yes! Most definitely! It is so neat to see in person! It is truly like a botanical garden in there! Except you can take a few plants home! :)
Such a great greenhouse!! They always have such amazing plants!
Yes!! Their plants are super healthy! They have a super cool selection of tropical as!
Logee's was recommended to me by an employee at Moscarillo's in West Hartford and now I can see why. I bought my first bromeliad from them a couple of weeks ago.
Logee's is about 30min from the casinos and I have it saved for the next time I'm in that area.
Good to know that I get cattleyas there since I'm in the market for a full size one. I have two mini ones now (Lowe's Bag Babies).
12:47 I saw this flower in Maui last year at the Garden of Eden Arboretum.
Yes, definitely make the visit, Joe! You will be amazed! The greenhouses are stunning! I couldn’t do it justice in the video! It’s a busy place so prepare to be with friends! :)
@@OrchidsByBryanFinally checked out Logee's today and it was like stepping down into a rainforest with dripping water and every kind of plant like macadamia, kiwi, goji, hoyas, and hibiscus. I also got to see the pitcher plant for the first time in person.
It was also like getting sprayed by perfume at Macy's because even after visiting, I still could smell citrus and vanilla. 😁
I had to pick up something while I was there and to my surprise, the Amazing Thailand which has been on my wishlist was there, but not many left. I got the one with the tallest growths, but another one had a lot of new root tips at the top.
I also picked up a noID phal with huge pink blooms with white at the edges with some purple stripes. I tired to use Google Lens to identify it and it came back as being a Doritaenopsis... 🤔
Logee's has a 60 days guarantee for their plants, but I'm not worried because of the reputation they have.
