San Diego is a city in the U.S. state of California on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, approximately 120 miles (190 km) south of Los Angeles and immediately adjacent to the border with Mexico. With an estimated population of 1,423,851 as of July 1, 2019, San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest in California. It is part of the San Diego-Tijuana conurbation, the second-largest transborder agglomeration between the U.S. and a bordering country after Detroit-Windsor, with a population of 4,922,723 people. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center.
San Diego has been called "the birthplace of California". Historically home to the Kumeyaay people, it was the first site visited by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States. Upon landing in San Diego Bay in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo claimed the area for Spain, forming the basis for the settlement of Alta California 200 years later. The Presidio and Mission San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1769, formed the first European settlement in what is now California. In 1821, San Diego became part of the newly declared Mexican Empire, which reformed as the First Mexican Republic two years later. California became part of the United States in 1848 following the Mexican-American War and was admitted to the union as a state in 1850.
The city is the seat of San Diego County and is the economic center of the region as well as the San Diego-Tijuana metropolitan area. San Diego's main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, international trade, and manufacturing. The presence of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center, has helped make the area a center of research in biotechnology.
Seaport Village is a waterfront shopping and dining complex adjacent to San Diego Bay in downtown San Diego, California. It is located at 849 West Harbor Drive, at the intersection of Harbor Drive and Kettner.
It houses more than 70 shops, galleries, and eateries on 90,000 square feet (8,000 m2) of waterfront property. The Village contains several freestanding buildings in an assortment of architectural styles, from Victorian to traditional Mexican. It is designed to be a car-free environment, with four miles (6 km) of winding paths rather than streets connecting the various buildings. It is located in walking distance from the San Diego Convention Center and the cruise ship terminal. It is currently under redevelopment planning, with construction to begin approximately 2025. It will remain operational until construction begins, according to the Port District.

Me too 🖐
I hope I will too someday,
You're all welcome!
Beautiful 👏🙏🤗
Good video. Good job on filming.
We Love California from Iran 🇺🇲❤️🇮🇷
Beautifully done❣️🌇
A nice walk through the city.
A nice virtual tour - makes you want to go there.
I used to live downtown and I really appreciated all the different neighborhoods and things to do within a short walking distance, combined with the lack of gigantic skyscrapers. The tallest buildings are really only around 30 levels or so. The charm of the city is so much calmer, laid back, and cleaner than places like Los Angeles or San Fran. Walking along the water in Seaport Village with a morning coffee in hand was a pleasure!
Its so beautiful love San Diego Pinay Campers

Beautiful city
I spent my navy boot camp in San Diego, a good liberty town, but that was back in 1955, where everything in California was golden.
Good 👌👌👌
Downtown on Broadway is beautiful
Broadway is a drugged out shithole.
Prove I am wrong.

They have mass transit in san diego?
yeah they have..
The San Diego Trolley has many lines, and it's joined by the Coronado Island Ferry, the MTS B.R.T. lines, and the Coaster regional-rail service
I love it this city
Missing San Diego where I lived for 17 years.😷
😍
It's crazy how much nicer looking San Diego is than LA but young and trendy people still flock to LA anyway. All that matters is the "LA" brand so they can show off to their old peers back home and feel more special themselves just because they live in LA. FOMO is a big part of it too but that would change if San Diego became a more popular place for young people, see Austin, Portland, and Denver. 30 years ago, those cities were not considered particularly cool like they are now. Of course the downside to more people moving to SD is pushing the cost of living up but a lot of the blame for that should be directed at those in power, not almost entirely on people who move to a place. I also like there aren't as many palm trees even though those are iconic for LA, they provide very little shade and when there isn't enough rain, start looking brown. SD seems to have a lot more actual trees lining its sidewalks.
Back in 1984 Downtown use to be always the busiest of people and events thru out the days as in nights. Like 1920s scene but in color and hi def stereo back then. Now, Its just the nights that get packed.. Very fun back then for all age groups...
You can term it Pre COVID Era.
Ugh, every time I watch a CA video, I wanna move :((((
San Diego is a cool place. Do it, I did it. I was in NJ and I think this will be my 7th year in CA. I live in Venice Beach now, it's a difficult one to move to because of the price and how little available leases there are but San Diego is by far affordable for how beautiful and nice people are.
@@justinrichard9823 Bro what do u think about phoenix, az ?
My Mom and I lived on 3rd and E St back in the 1950's. I haven't watched the entire video yet, but one thing is quite obviously missing...Sailors in uniform. Peace. Sep. 1, 2020.
a lot has changed badly for downtown S.D. . And I am born and raised here.
The only city in California worth living in.
Do you actually live here?
No it's not true..Cali is great state
44excalibur, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Some of those motorcycles and cars are so loud and obnoxious. The police should issue citations.
Wow! Nice channel! You have great videos. I hope we can support each other. Greetings from Germany!
Way too much walking in the bike lane aghhhhhh!
So sad. As a local and a SDCC attendee, being cancelled the first time after the 50th year. It can not be canceled for a second time. I do not know where they are from and do not care. We need our money maker to stay here!
Lep grad 😀🧭✈️🧚🇷🇸
Looks strange with boarded up businesses and people wearing masks outside.
Manual and Mexican flag she feels like you're in Mexico and you're in San Diego
😍
