Hoi! Wanted to write something fun and decided to do something inspired from Nightmare (･ω･ )☆ I've been having a good time writing original music & Electrostatic honestly did a lot better than I had expected on the channel (to my pleasant surprise), so I thought "Hmm wouldn't it be fun if I wrote more original music inspired from other characters?" I didn't see too much on the music side of YT for Nightmare and this character had intrigued me quite a bit for years, so now was a good time to give it a shot. My initial plan for this was to go industrial & abstract, but that quickly changed into some weird hybrid DnB. I also hadn't planned to incorporate so many melodic elements such as the chord progression drop at 1:17, but I fell in love with it and just had to keep it. I adored the contrast and it was a delicate little melodic accident I was really happy to happen upon. I'd say for sure it's my favorite part of the track, and that's coming from someone who loves her bass drops a bit too much sometimes (ง •̀ω•́)ง✧ Anywho, if you have any suggestions for AU characters I should write something for/check out, feel free to let me know! Throughout this theme I can hear snippets that remind me of uncorrupted nightmare... This theme is such a mix of anger, malice, spite and "evil villain vibes" but there is also a haunting sadness and bitterness in certain parts of the theme, particularly at 1:07 - 1:55 and again at 3:05 - 3:50. I just really like how this song sounds really cool whilst also covering all aspects of Nightmare's personality and past. Great job! :)
The tune at 1:17 kind of makes this sound like a fallen hero's theme to me, which, based on my gathered knowledge of Dreamtale, seems to be kind of fitting for Nightmare!

The beginning reminds me of the noise and terror of a nightmare. You can't understand why you're scare, but you are and you gotta run! then the melody comes in and things get...surreal. this is by far an amazing piece you made!

As for suggestions....Maybe Shattered!Dream? Like a corrupted version of Dream. It can either be original or a mix of this remix with another remix for Dream. I like to imagine Shattered Dream's song will be sweet and hopeful at the beginning but turns into this corrupted sounding music or just a sweet melody underneath a corrupted sounding song on top of it or combined with it. Maybe some characters from the SwapVerse? Like Reboot- basically swapped version of Error- or Marvul or maybe even Eraser. Imagine Tokyovania but twisted to sound either "evil" or "wrong" or maybe switched beats? So many possibilities and I can't wait to see what song you would make next!!!! Keep it up!!!!

There are a lot of things i love about this song. Right away, you can already feel ot oozes negative energy. Every part lasts just enough to enjoy it but not long enough for it to make yoi tired of it. And there's also the part that represents hope, and what Nightmare once was. I don't like all of Shara's songs, but when they get it right, they get it RIGHT It's a shame this song can only achieve its full potential in the quiet, unholy hours of night, when I've gone long enough without hearing it to not remember every part of it.

I love this song. I suffer from really bad and traumatic nightmares that start off scary and fast paced and then lull me into a false sense of security before upping the intensity before fading out. This song being Nightmare’s theme and being titled Malevolence is very fitting.

I love this song. I suffer from really bad and traumatic nightmares that start off scary and fast paced and then lull me into a false sense of security before upping the intensity before fading out. This song being Nightmare’s theme and being titled Malevolence is very fitting.

good god, this is awesome! I love a lot of your music and remixes, Shara, and this definitely lived up to your name! I love how that melody is just softly present in the background, behind the stronger, "evil" track, and right at the end the melody becomes more prevolent. I think it compliments his character really well! I love it!
