God Bless Father Kieser and Paulist productions for this wonderful, thought provoking series. I think we all as human beings lose sight of what is truly important in life at times, and take our blessings for granted. This message is even more relevant now than it was then. In the end it all comes down to this, whether we left the world a better or worse place for our having been here.

Marx, following Hegel, starts with his conclusion and then invents a diagnosis to justify the conclusion. The agrarian past presented is nostalgically idyllic and false. The "terrors" of industrialization were so much better than life on the land that thousands freely rushed to the mines and factories in hopes of a better life. The poverty stricken peoples presented as our responsibility are poor because they lack the freedom to industrialize. Marx gets the diagnosis wrong. Private industry improves goods and services while lowering costs. Everyone is richer. Private industry is not a problem. Marx's ingratitude is his problem. We should safely ignore it.

Then & now nothing much seems to have changed. All in the name of Capitalism.
