Beet Green yup I am Greek and I can confirm this for the first season only. Because for some reason the Greek translation has its voice actors changed constantly. Actually all the Greek voices in spongebob started out totally different from the originals as expected but were slowly made more and more similar to them as the show progressed. You don't even want to know what twisted theories greek kids have when they are too young to realize why the voice is changing so much :(

Aivaylas in that years it wasn't easy to do it. Because the animation technique is the old one, frame by frame by hand
It's common practice not to do so. Like an unwritten rule not to alter text and a violation would be uncalled for. German dub industry only did in very few series, like Shin-chan and dinosaurs. So, it probably wasn't a matter of difficulty. German dub industry probably never will edit text usually except title cards. Not like the Americanos do, alienating everything and making things to jelly donuts.
