I like the idea that he was invited to join Squad 0 because he was the reason the concept of a «Banned Bankai» was created. Which could be considered as a contribution to the history of Soul Society. Great video as always!
Someone with such power would fit in perfectly in the halls of Squad Zero. Maybe he would've avoided the traditional fatal fate that happens to a holder of the Kenpachi title when someone more powerful challenges them.

Bro had to be Drunk and underestimate his opponent. In order to get caught completely off guard with his Reiryoku for Azashiro to mess up his insides. Also the fact that he wanted to fight BOTH Shunsui and Jūshirō, whom Yamamoto himself described as transcendent, thus proving they are stupendously powerful together.
He was an absolute beast and yet despite it all was personable on a human level. Then another arrived to dethrone him and the cycle continues. He represents that deadly powerful yet humble concept in Bleach that several others adhere to, be it Ichigo, Yoruichi, Shunsui etc.
In my opinon,Ichebie asked him to join,beacause his bankai was capable of killing anyone , even Ichebei or sending anyone to hell,as Gagukairo means,, black corridor,, , and hell is not controlled by Ichebei.Ichebei mentioned that he sees everything,like old man Ychwa ,so Ichebei forsaw Azashirro s futere plans,but didn t stop him as Kuruyashiki was a danger.Kyoraku was his best friend and they seemed to share the same ideas,so I think
Part 2 .I think,he was in the Royal Palace to tell the Ichebei about his descion and felt or saw something that was not good for Ichebei.And that s why Ichebei killed him with hands of Soya Azashiro and now he is chilling in hell,training his bankai and looking for his wife,Kenpachi s mother.As this is possible for time periods.And this would be an amazing future twist.Son meets father in hell.
