I would be happy if these guys came back, I'm in the Faroese coastguard so it would give us something to do 😂No but for real, they didn't do anything other than getting their organization banned from the country and didn't save a single whale. I see how some people think it's bad, which isn't a problem at all, but when they start getting in-between it or stuff like that that's when I get an issue with it, we don't do it for fun, we harvest EVERYTHING that is edible of the pilot whale and eat everything we harvest, it's not like we kill them, and dump them into a trash can, it's also very sustainable practice so we're not making them go extinct which is why we can still do it. I personally don't attend the harvests or eat pilot whale as I don't like the taste, but if we are sent over there to keep an eye on things then I will have no problem with it. I would also like to point out that this group has been recognised as a terrorist organization by the international whaling commission in the past (IWC) and Paul Watson has claimed responsibility for ramming more than 25 boats and trying to sink others whilst at port etc, and that's from 1986-2002, god knows how much they've done in the last 20 years.

The difference between eating a cow and a whale? Cows are not endangered. Whales are closer to people than cows are to people. Whales are more intelligent and socially advanced than cows. Whales are like people but it whale form. They have their own family pods and have their own language and accent. They morn their dead. Whales are an important part of our delicate marine ecosystem and we don't want them to go extinct. Whales remove so much carbon from the atmosphere, slowing climate change and delaying the AMOC collapse. The grind is a process of hours where those whales get hunted until exhausted (some even drown due to the exhaustion of the hunting). They get pushed in the bay where they Strand and then get a hook in their tube and their neck cut slowly. All this happens while they are in presence of their family, children,… those whale species have four times more emotional brain cells, meaning they feel four times more suffering, more sadness,… than us. Now imagine those cruel things happening to your mother and how you would feel, but make it four times. That’s how those whales feel. Horse meanwhile mostly get taken away from their families or others without much stress and get killed quite quickly without suffering. Also they don’t have so many emotional brain cells. Not to forget that it’s also about an environmental aspect. Horses are bred and don’t have a value for the ecosystem as farm animal, meanwhile the whales are key species for an ecosystem. That’s what it is about.

The marine food chain is so complex, we don't fully know what would happen if they went extinct and I don't want to find out when its too late. Killing whales for food when we have current day technology is just fucking wrong. Cant you sense their intelligence. Or are you that disconnected from nature you cant recognize another advanced species that was here before us. We need to stand up for them because when we realize how advanced they really are it will be too late. Killing whales is just wrong. They where not interested in debating with you because you did not walk up to them with an open mind. you walked up to them in an intention to criticize and bully. So I'll just say this i get it is way of life for u people i understand u guys have been doing this for centuries and back in olders years it was the only to survive and there many other people's out there today who need hunting to survive but u have ships and access to international trade and tradition just dosen't cut it anymore tradition is a good thing for people I understand but when your traditional ways doesn't work anymore in the modern world it's time to change and I'm sorry but hunting whales dolphins and porpoises is wrong these animals are the life of the ocean if they went extinct it would be disaster for the world and the environment and pilot whales and dolphins around the Faroe islands aren't endangered but combination with people slaughtering thousands of them and other threats to other populations around the world will cause the species to collapse look all I'm saying is that u guys are not the problem it's just other factors such pollution of are ocean Japanese whalers and climate change and many other problems are taking its toll on other populations of whales dolphins porpoises and your tradition is unfortunately turning into one of these problems I seen the Faroe islands they are beautiful places and the people are amazing but this tradition of slaughtering these animals has left a stain on your island and the rest of the world now see u guys as monsters instead change your tradition of whale hunting to whale watching take tourists ou on trips to see these amazing creatures in their ecosystem and see their beauty and set up a reservation for them so they can thrive repopulate and grow back there populations that's all we are asking is to stop your tradition of slaughter, carnage and death and yes Sea Shepherd are not always heroes they have done some really shady shit before but overall that's what they want too I hope u understand what I'm trying to say and the comment I said before I take back but I'll end it with this if the Faroe islands continue this tradition to a point where your people have no more whales dolphins puffins and all sea life around the islands disappears and the ecosystem of islands changes forever don't say we didn't worn u

@@Jaeger04 horses or cows are mostly killed very quickly without much suffering. The grind is a process of hours where those whales get hunted until exhausted (some even drown due to the exhaustion of the hunting). They get pushed in the bay where they Strand and then get a hook in their tube and their neck cut slowly. All this happens while they are in presence of their family, children,… those whale species have four times more emotional brain cells, meaning they feel four times more suffering, more sadness,… than us. Now imagine those cruel things happening to your mother and how you would feel, but make it four times. That’s how those whales feel. Horse meanwhile mostly get taken away from their families or others without much stress and get killed quite quickly without suffering. Also they don’t have so many emotional brain cells.
Not to forget that it’s also about an environmental aspect. Horses are bred and don’t have a value for the ecosystem as farm animal, meanwhile the whales are key species for an ecosystem. That’s what it is about.

I have a question for you. Are you a professional butcher? Are all those involved in this whale massacre professional butchers? To be clear I'm not vegan. I eat chickens, pork and beef, bought from the store. There are jobs that allow you to do this, for which you are paid. It is a profession that only those who practice it, it is not a pleasure. That's how people end up eating meat. We don't all gather, the whole family, the whole village, the children to gather the animals in a corner and go with knives in hand to kill the animals just to eat them. We don't participate in killing them to eat meat, we don't do a show. We do not take our children to teach them what violence and brutality mean. For us it is a necessity and not a violent spectacle. What you do is not a necessity, but rather a spectacle, and it seems like a pleasure to some of you. Which is not human. Do not excuse yourself by saying that it is a necessity because it is a big lie. Don't call your people and children and the whole village out of necessity. Don't give a show and you won't be satisfied after killing thousands of whales. From my point of view, you have serious behavioral problems in society, you behave like wild people and you seem psychopathic to the satisfaction you have. God left all this to feed us. But not like that, not a show, not violence, not satisfaction. What you are doing is violence, brutality, inappropriate satisfaction, not a necessity for you to eat.
