This is an NLP Technique called the Parts Integration - a demonstration.
In this demonstration you get the full power of NLP to create change. It is called the a Parts Integration because it deals with parts of an individuals behaviour that they don't want. When someone says "there's a part of me that..." the chances are that they have some inconsistency of thinking, they have some kind of unwanted behaviour that appears part-time and causes them difficulties.

Great example of the intervention. Thanks. I noticed she went into some kind of semi-hypnotic state. Is this common when practicing this technique?

Good observation Grant. Yes, it is preferable to have the client in a semi-hypnotic state as this is when they are most open to your suggestions. This is the way we talk to the deepest part of the brain.
