Yeah man I totally thought it was real when mr breast put everyone 200 feet in the air and they could fall to there death. Never thought that could be CGI.
I was so confused by how calm the participants were on the bridge considering how high they were even though they were falling in foam beds. I was like, DAMN, BRO, YA COULD DIE. I guess they just sold the effect that well. kudos
If you look at 4:09, the platform is only about 5 feet off the ground, and the sides are covered with black cloth. In the VFX shot, you can see underneath the railing and the fake foam is like 15 feet down. Even the spaces between the white squares are fake.

Bro the amount of reactions I’ve seen that were like “Woah. How huge is this place” and “Yo but what if they fall next to the foam pit. Holy shit” says it all. These VFX look so good that they fooled so many people into believing that’s what it actually looked like
The foam pit under the trap doors fooled me. I was thinking it was an actual safety measure. I would have thought it was CG if it was depicted as an actual massive pit, like I was able to tell for Tug of War. It’s funny that the CG foam pit passed right by me because it was believable. Now I’m wondering, where did they fall then? What was under the doors in the actual set? More foam maybe? Maybe not as high of a fall.
I am in legitimate awe at how incredible the VFX is in this video, this looks like something you'd expect from a full, high-budget movie. Not a 30 minute youtube video. Amazing job done by everyone involved!!!
I wasn't even able to SPOT that it was CG in any way! I expected colour grading but when I saw the sets for the Glass Bridge and Tug of War, I initially thought it was done with some clever mirror placement or something so god... damn, you guys nailed this one! I'm studying VFX at the moment and trying to get into the industry, looks like I've gotta train my eyes a bit more lol
I am so happy something like this was released. For geeks like me who enjoy the behind the scenes to videos and a bunch of VFX related stuff, this is just an awesome video! You all crushed it, been a fan for a long time. 💯
This feels like a sigh of relief that most of the sets are all VFX. If I got bamboozled with how good it looks, and how I almost got convinced that Mr Beast & crew ACTUALLY built every set from the show. Then you guys did an incredible- no, a PHENOMENAL job!
Holy shiiiiitttt, I watched the whole thing and could have never guessed that it was VFX. You guys did such an amazing job. It’s insane how realistic it looks
Dude, no way could they do a production like this for real. Imagine them actually using children on a bridge suspended that high with little to no safety equipemnt. I highly doubt they'd ever risk a life like that.
Yeah but these shots were a LOT more simple than the ones from Matrix. They only had to make a 3D model of the background, 3D track the camera and composite it in the footage using Luma Key and manual masking. Which is tedious, but really easy.
As a Korean viewer, I think this is amazing! They should be called into Korea to help out with the production and filming sets for the actual Squid Game Season 2~ Much respect and thanks for loving Squid Game, means a lot to us Koreans 🙂

The CGI was so good that It actually made me question myself so many times trying to see what was real or not, some of scenes looks truly real like I did even knew it was CGI. Nice job team.

@@jeckert547 yes there's foam, 4:17
I am in legitimate awe at how incredible the VFX is in this video, this looks like something you'd expect from a full, high-budget movie. Not a 30 minute youtube video. Amazing job done by everyone involved!!!
costed 2 million for the cgi so it basically was like a movie
or maybe 1.2 mill but either way super expensive
I wasn't even able to SPOT that it was CG in any way! I expected colour grading but when I saw the sets for the Glass Bridge and Tug of War, I initially thought it was done with some clever mirror placement or something so god... damn, you guys nailed this one! I'm studying VFX at the moment and trying to get into the industry, looks like I've gotta train my eyes a bit more lol
Then you actually gotta fix ur eyes
This made every height feel better to look at, amazing CGI/VFX and awesome video

I was so convinced all of the video was practical! This is amazing work!
This feels like a sigh of relief that most of the sets are all VFX. If I got bamboozled with how good it looks, and how I almost got convinced that Mr Beast & crew ACTUALLY built every set from the show. Then you guys did an incredible- no, a PHENOMENAL job!
I mean they did build all the sets from the show except the two ones that would be too dangerous and just not possible.
This was an absolutely mind-blowing task which ended up with mind-blowing results. Truly masters of your craft!

I mean its just unreal engine 5. theyre still like amateur game devs basicly
This was so realistic i was actually worried what would happen if someone missed the platform in tug of war and stepping stones
SAME, the tug of war and glass game got me freaking out dunno why they were so calm until this video popped up.
Just realized it’s not “tuggle war” its “tug of war”
@Developer Jake LOL
The fact you's did this in 10 days, big movie studios need to hire your team. Very impressive :)
Holy shiiiiitttt, I watched the whole thing and could have never guessed that it was VFX. You guys did such an amazing job. It’s insane how realistic it looks
I mean, that's kinda the point lol
You could never have guessed that they didnt build a 30 meters high glass floor?
@@TehBananaBread the vfx of the sky and other shots are really convincing tho
@@TehBananaBread it´s MrBeast we are talking about
Dude, no way could they do a production like this for real. Imagine them actually using children on a bridge suspended that high with little to no safety equipemnt. I highly doubt they'd ever risk a life like that.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that a small production team made as many CGI shots as the friggin MATRIX in only 10 days.. Bravo. 👏👏
Yeah but these shots were a LOT more simple than the ones from Matrix. They only had to make a 3D model of the background, 3D track the camera and composite it in the footage using Luma Key and manual masking. Which is tedious, but really easy.
Yeah and matrix was made like 20 years ago ?. Still it is an amazing work.
Well they didnt do as much as matrix did but they still made amazing stuff
As a Korean viewer, I think this is amazing! They should be called into Korea to help out with the production and filming sets for the actual Squid Game Season 2~ Much respect and thanks for loving Squid Game, means a lot to us Koreans 🙂
literally not comparable but whatever makes you happy.
You guys did great! I was confused about how some of the sets could be safe.

The special effects were so good while I was watching the video I was legitimately worried in some of the games! I knew everyone was obviously okay but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how some of the things I was watching were pulled off safely. The CGI was so good that It actually made me question myself so many times trying to see what was real or not, some of scenes looks truly real like I did even knew it was CGI. Nice job team.

Omg, the comparison of how chill the vfx team is compared to WilliamOsman's Squib team is hilarious. Here it's all, we can get this done, everything is good, we even have time to make a small video game compared to Osman's team that's just pure chaos and the looming dread of failure XD
I knew that the drop from tug of war and glass bridge were CGI, but I'm just now realizing how many scenes had CGI in them. Like, I was shocked to see the foam and many of the background being just CGI. Awesome work guys, you really did a great job! As they say, the best CGI is the one no one notices.
The CG was so freaking good that I had no idea there was any CGI at all until I saw this video. Incredible job.
