I looked at the hand and first idea was try to rough a diamond in the short trump hand. Why would that not work? I would consider banking on a 3-4 club split risky. Why am I wrong?
@@wolpertbridge Thank you for the fast answer, but as far as I see I also make 5 if I manage to rough a diamond in south. I just need west to have at least 3 out of 8 diamonds which I would guess was more likely than a 3-4 club split. Will they be able to demote the king of clubs in that senario?

Because you get an extra trick by setting up the clubs.
If the clubs don’t break you break even. If they are 4-3 you make 5.

@@maxfriis the moment they win the diamond they cash a heart and a club. You can’t make 5 if you lose a diamond.
