I just showed my husband this to see if he would like it on our table. He goes ‘Haven’t you made one like that already? You know, the quilt to go on our bed?’ That quilt is a log cabin featuring black yellow prints! Lol. Basically the only thing in common is squares in the pattern and high contrast colours.
I've been watching your videos and really enjoying them. I am a beginner. And your videos are so helpful. I cant stand but for a few minutes and I dont have a large table. So i must stick to throw size quilts i tack it down to scared to free hand quilt.. jeep teaching me Donna 😃🙂
The ads allow these wonderful quilters to bring us these free videos. Jordan fabrics takes it a step farther with their generosity providing many FREE patterns.
Anyone else always so impressed with her nails and how gorgeous they are? Here for the quilts, stayed for the nails! 😂❤️ Love all the tutorials you guys do! I’ve learned so much from you!
Donna, the only thing that amazes me more than the beautiful quilts that you create, is your phenomenal teaching ability. Just a quick question about binding. When you get to the corner you stop 1/4 inch away and after folding the diagonal, you start again a quarter inch away. I’ve always started right at the edge after turning. Can you explain why your method works best? I have learned more from you than you’ll ever know about quilting AND about ironing 😅. Thx to you and Matt for your generosity and creativity.
After I sew on either side of the drawn line, I take the square to the iron, set the seam, press back the sides needed, then I go back to the cutting mat and slice apart. :)
I love the ombre fabrics but was not sure how to cut them. Thank you for sharing. I have learned so much from your videos and I appreciate the free patterns you provide for us.
Love your videos! I have begun quilting in my 70's after sewing and crafting all my life. I have been doing mostly art quilts until I found you. Now I am intrigued with piecing for the first time.I'm loving the geometry of it. You are such a good teacher, and.I really love your eye for color and coordinating fabrics. Thank you for your inspiration.
There is nothing more satisfying to a quilter than the sound of a sharp blade slicing with accurate precision through a beautiful piece of fabric! Thank you, Donna, Matt and team. Your wonderful tutorials and outstanding videography are SO appreciated.
Hi Donna Jordan! I have been watching your videos during quarantine and am beyond inspired. Have you ever made an alphabet quilt? I would be very interested to see how to piece letter blocks. Thank you!
😆this is the best close up,I've ever seen on handling the binding turn. Once again, you've giving us an important step that often is glossed over. Thank you!
I have been sewing for 50+ years and still learn things from fellow sewers, thanks for the pin in the corner tip this morning, I always enjoy your tutorials.
Okay, this is totally off topic, but that one nail you have that looks like a gemstone is the bomb! I need details. Also, love the use of the ombré fabrics. Beautiful colors.
I'm not sure what nail polish or technique Donna or her manicurist used for that one nail, but Sally Hansen brand makes a snowy, glitter white polish like that in their line called "Xtreme Wear". I think the color name is Disco Ball. I use the gold glitter polish in that line for my ring-finger party nails, and it does a beautiful job.
Love that you are incredibly methodical in your efficiency of making your quilts. Love even more you generously share your quilty wisdom with us. Cannot wait to make this runner! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jordan Fabrics!
Great to see a new clip come up on my notifications. I must have seen too many as I was yelling at the screan for Donna to use "the weight" 🤣 Awesome, fabrics
I noticed that too. I didn’t realize how much I watch until I also noticed the weight was missing. My son has to steal his weight back from me and now calls it the “Donna weight.”
Elizabeth Veness ..this is several videos now with no weight. I am also wondering why no longer using the weight. I use mine. I have three different weights...3#, 5#, and a small hand weight and they all have their uses. I thought this was genius when I first saw Donna using the weight. I mentioned Jordan fabrics should have these weights manufactured with their logo on them and sell them in the shop.
super simple and it was wonderful, I adore batik fabrics are really beautiful. Thank you Donna for sharing such beautiful things, greetings 😘 take good care of yourselves.
Donna, Thank you for all that you do bringing these tutorials to us. I am fairly new to quilting . I have sewn for years but never attempted quilting. Through your tutorials, you have helped me so much and given me the confidence to do this and I have made a couple of quilt tops and some table runners with your patterns.. So enjoying myself . Watch you daily , even if I've seen it before. Thanks again , Ann Gilbert
You ARE (as always) my quilting inspiration! And I LOVE your tips and tricks. You've made the whole process MUCH quicker and stress-free. THANK YOU once again! Big smiles!!!
I love how you explain finger pressing, ironing, quarter inch seams, and everything else in every one of your videos. It's so very helpful for someone to watch any one of your tutorials and learn all those helpful tips no matter which video they start with. I'm not a quilter myself, though I would love to do one myself one day, but I've watched nearly every single one of your videos (some more than once!). Thank you for doing such wonderful tutorials and being an amazing teacher!
I have learned so much from you in a short time. When ever I hear A rich in the Dutch lol I think of you. But it's genious. I hope I can learn to sew. I have severe depression n ptsd, among bad back pain I love sewng even I can do it A little at a time. Thank you for your teachings I'm very appreciative for everything
Thank you so much for the very close up camera shots on attaching the binding - particularly the corners. Everytime I add binding to quilt I wonder if I am doing the corners right. Your video will go into my bookmarks so I can refer to it in the future. You are an amazing teacher, Donna. Thank you for all the time you take to teach people how to quilt and proper quilting techniques. You make it easy for all of us.
I love these tutorials it is winter here now in Australia so after a day at work come home get on the treadmill and watch and am amazed every time. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Happy Father's Day to Matt! Donna, thank you for the cute and clever way to use Ombre fabrics. I love looking at them, but as yet, haven't noticed anyone using them so well. I love this. Thanks too for all the frustration saving tips you throw in. Hope all are well, going to go look at y'all's ombre selections now.
Donna's method of doing corners I've shared with people on Facebook who post they are having trouble making nice corners. I give them the link to watch the way she does it and it has helped me as well. I always like picking up better ways to do things and I'm willing to change old habits!
I love your videos, I've gotten back into quilting with quarantine as a side creative part to making masks all day. I really appreciate all you and your husband do to make videos. I'm an avid watcher now and love the ideas you give me for future quilts!
As always, you shared a very informative and detailed tutorial. I came back to quilting after many years away during Covid and discovered Jordan Fabrics channel. I am a nurse so quilting is great stress relief. I watch at least one of your tutorials every night and received my Sister's Choice Pre-Cut Table Runner Kit yesterday. Can't wait to get started on that today!
I love the sound of that blade cutting fabric. Getting ready to cut fabric for your free pattern for a log cabin quilt. Love this pattern too. I like the gem look on your manicure too. Your videos are always so helpful and fun.
Donna, this is beautiful. Love the way you incorporated the ombre fabric into the design. Just lovely! I also truly appreciate the detailed instructions on how to do the corners on this type of binding. I've seen in in print, I've seen it with pictures, but I have never seen such a detailed demonstration of how to do it. Thank you so much for all you share.
This project is exciting. Thank you Donna for the tute and the opportunity to win one of your beautiful quilts... DD has some the best quilting EVER on it!

It’s beautiful
You are a wonderful teacher!
Is anyone else impressed that her scissors sliced through that fabric like paper...it was astonishing to watch and listen to.
they cut like a hot knife through butter
She has a husband that sharpens those scissors no doubt. LOL
Absolutely 👌
I think they’re Kai scissors. I’ll invest in those one day.
Are they Kai scissors?
Brilliant!!!
Love this idea with the beautiful variegated fabric
It looks so easy when you are working. You are explaining so well.
Have a nice Thanksgiving ❤️

Anyone else always so impressed with her nails and how gorgeous they are? Here for the quilts, stayed for the nails! 😂❤️ Love all the tutorials you guys do! I’ve learned so much from you!
I am currently using imPRESS press-on manicure nails and didn't know I would enjoy them so much!
I have noticed that her choice of nail color, if not also her outfit, either matches or coordinates with the quilt she is making. :)
Very good perfect work
i love the color it is my favorite. stay safe :)

I really love the colors on hombre fabric. Your use of that fabric is terrific! Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

The pin in the corner to maneuver the binding into the perfect angle....GENIUS!!
Fantastic video, the runner is striking, like the way you did the binding corners.Enjoy your Sunday Donna and Matt.

I wonder if it was because she was cutting two layers rather than multiple?
Fantastic Donna, was so pleased to see you quilt on a normal machine and your binding tutorial is fantastic. Love the fabric.💜💜💜💜🇦🇺
Donna Jordan is a great sewing teacher I learn a lot from her!! (Good Job!!)❤

What a great project and tutorial! What did we ever do before UA-cam? Thank you so much for this.
Excellent job showcasing the mitered binding. You make it look so easy.

Wowza, I’m amazed that this is one piece of fabric 😱
you inspire us to be perfect in whatever we do. God loves hard-working, disciplined persons
I’m impressed that the fabric stays put while cutting and marking.
Donna that was so fun to watch. You explain it so well. I can do this.

I recently got a new dining room table that is quite long. My older runners look skimpy on it. This is just what I need.
This is so pretty! My sister uses a table runner 100% of the time, but hers is more the size of a placemat. I'll have to make this for her.
I have so much ombre fabric just because I love it! So thankful to have a way to actually use it that I like! Thank you!
