We have just bought a vPad Rf tester, and the Force FX 8C non REM test on the auto sequence says that the REM indicator should be green at 1 Ohm. I’m sure this is wrong, and that it should be off, and alarm at about 20 ohms. What say you?
There are 2 different REM connectors which will affect your results - with a tang and without. A connector with the tang stick attached is for a split electrode REM Pad and it should alarm at less than 8 ohms (ithink) and have values between 9Ohms and 135Ohms. The Non Tang connector is for single electrode pads and those values are 0 ohms - 8 ohms. It has been a little while since I have done a REM check on the FX model.

I'm learning electronics and I can perform beginner level repairs on consumer electronics and power supplies. After having watched a few of your videos, it looks like biomed techs are from a totally different world.
Start with a 2 year technical degree or a few years in a technical career field. I recommend The Biomed's Handbook from thebiomedshandbook.com to expose you to the variety of devices we see every day. Study up on your medical terminology (this will set you apart from many biomeds). Volunteer at a local hospital. -Eeven if that means you will be packing equipment to ship out for repair. Exposure to a hospital environment will speed your learning. Good luck. Stay in touch!
Hello my friend, my name is José and I am from Colombia. I have a ESU on my work shop and It presents error code 160 and 212. I did all the calibrations and I to changed the battery of the memory and to show the same problem. I need that you help me. Thank's a lot.
Are you depressing the bipolar buttons next to the bipolar ports? Are you sure the bipolar foot control has continuity? You can jumper the bipolar and activate with a paperclip to the 3 pin port on the back of the unit. 2/3 pins need shorted to activate.
@@abigailcharles542 Abigail, let me do some research on this one. I've never heard of this problem before. A full calibration might be needed. Did you try to open the case and reseat the CPU card (if I remember correctly) which is in the middle of the device mounted on its edge?
"If you get a 160 error, remove the K2 relay and then apply power. IF the error goes away, the problem is probably on the right side of the FX; however if the error is still shown, then the problem is on the left side of the unit. To remove relay: push retaining spring to the side. To reinstall: put relay in place first, then push retaining spring straight down from the top." -medwrench

Remember, in series, resistors values add together. In parallel, their value is less. Get a resistor kit and experiment.

Jose, both error codes are calibration issues. Replace the internal battery and do a full system calibration.

hello! A Valleylab Force FX just came into the workshop and the bipolar standard setting is unresponsive. Can you advise me please? much appreciated.
