I’m a clarinet in a small band (there’s 12 of us total) and I’m a senior this year and I asked if we could play Harry Potter (and good thing I asked this year because now instead of only me liking Harry Potter, at least 3 of us do) and my teacher said yes and got this!! I’m so happy I almost cried when he said he got it.

Actually I played the e-guitar (who got the mallet percussion's part) in our school band, but our teacher said: “Dear guitars, we need a person who could play something on the timpanis.“ I ever wanted to try out the timpanis and now I miss them because we're in summer holidays! :-(

When I first played this I got so many emotions and memories but THE TRUMPETS HAD TO GO AND RUIN IT ALL BY SAYING “nah we don’t wanna do this song.” So we ended up not doing it. (The trumpets are like half the band so that’s why)

I got the clarinet solo when I was in school, mainly cause I was the clarinet that was in band more due to classes overlapping. (I was one of two clarinetists) And we got the audience with the false ending! It was awesome cause the clarinets that ceased the false ending XD Since it was only us two most people took a while to realize. Then they were hesitant to applaud at the real ending cause they weren't sure if it was real or not XD

Played this last year and the beginning we had a violin player do the solo, not a flute...let's just say strings aren't appreciated much like band at my school. :')
We had the strings do more since we only had some brass, woodwinds, and percussion join. There some things in this that we did that did not show up in this or it was over powered by the wind instruments. I am a cellist and a former trombonist so I know pros and cons to both from band and strings orchestra. xD
