Thank you Cameron for promoting Lochore Meadows Country park, its only a stone throw from my home in Kelty. but is an excellent place for a day trip or overnighter in my Bongo.it is always buzzing with all sorts of water activities and community led projects. I wish I had known you were visiting I would have asked you in for a cup o tea
Used to go kayaking, orienteering and mountain biking there with the school. If you ever drunk on the High Street of any of the surrounding old mining villages, then I’m sure you’ll agree West Fife doesn’t need any ‘rewilding’ 😁
Hi Cameron, such a real shame a local person, a councillors of some type, living around Lochore had this week after your video made some serious accusations about motorhome and campervan visitors to Lochore Meadows not contributing to the community, stating the meadows was not for visiting tourers and an awful lot of other unpleasant things about us all as a community of people all to enjoy ourselves, trying to help out local areas and enjoy promoting areas such as Lochore Meadows. Our visits here have been met by warm and friendly staff I just hope this person does not deter motorhome and campervans from visiting in the future. We are enjoying your journeys and look forward to your next adventure 😊
Yes I saw that. Not sure he was a councillor but he came across as a local know-all with a grudge about campervanners and several folk responded appropriately. In every walk of life I'm involved with, be it campervanning, mountaineering, writing or politics, you always get a share of twats. I'm sure his self righteous and ill-informed comments will not put people off visiting this excellent aire.
@@CameronMcNeishOutdoors did some research on the guy and was quite surprised on the one hand the he's promoting the community he's working with and wanting better things and yet this response is like so antisocial it's beyond comprehension, I do agree with you though and sincerely hope it does not put people off since it is a wonderful peaceful place.

Just an addon, the site will be closed end Oct till march 2022 but manager Ian Laing quite happy for parking up overnight in carpark for campervans and motorhomes, services provided for a donation
This looks brilliant, definitely on the list. Much better than the Findhorn village charging campers £15 for nothing but parking with no EHU! They need to look at this model.
Sorry that’s completely untrue, we love the new aire at Findhorn. Who needs EHU in summer with solar. They provide spacious parking, fresh water, grey water disposal, and chemical waste facilities, hardly just a carpark space. There is currently no grey water disposal at Lochore.
HIE take note. This is what folk want at the Ciste car park on Cairn Gorm, not the over-priced excuse for a campervan stopover that you have provided ☹
Sadly they are closing the facility from 27 October until 1 April. Why they are doing this I don’t know, Lochore would be a great site for winter visits. I am heading there tomorrow and I will try to find out why they are doing this.
That is a retrograde step as motorhomes and campervans are a year round activity and would certainly use the excellent facilities, is it worth speaking to local councilers and MP ?
@@bobreid4553 I will have to find out who takes the decision. I know the manager and will ask him. But closing what would be an excellent winter venue seems silly. They would probably have to charge more for the EHU due to much higher winter usage, £2.50 being way to cheap.
Ave live here all my life and only know it to have camper and stays overnight for the past few years, it’s a great place to go for walking cycling and let the kids run wild, the cafe however is only open a few hours daily, the sports centre has great facilities, there is a golf club to and fishing, there used to be fishing boats but think they have been taken away now, u used to have to pay to use the water but think now it’s a free for all, the place have so much potential but it’s not being used for what it is which is a shame
No. Aire BNB something entirely different. Aire's for motorhomes are somewhere to park and refresh overnight, ir just for a few hours. AIRE BNBs are rooms and flats etc let out for stop overs and holidays, usually peoples homes.
I absolutely love reading your books and seeing your videos!!

Awesome intro “eh”, priceless 😂
Brilliant stuff, love seeing your UA-cam vlogs, keep them coming ❤️
Just missed you. I left Wednesday lunchtime and you are on my pitch 👍 Love it there. Nice wee run out from Edinburgh.
Fantastic Cameron, take my grandchildren there, wonderful place.
There is normaly a steam train on those rails. However it is being restored. A great climbing frame for kids over the years
Very informative..... nice to see such beauty after such a industrial past .
