But add, you cannot be save by baptism alone. You must have the faith of belief.
Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
John 3:5 “Jesus answered, 'I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus was perfect. His baptism was an outward symbol of his inward perfection. It didn’t save him because he didn’t need to be saved. He was already perfect.

The Bible teaches all are born sinless and pure (Matthew 18:1-5; 19:13-15). When we sin, we separate ourselves from God (Isaiah 59:1,2). The result of sin is spiritual death (Ezekiel 18:20; Romans 6:23). Salvation from sin is by the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). This does not mean all will be saved. Christ “became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” (Hebrews 5:9). Jesus is the Sacrifice for our sins (Hebrews 9:24-28; 1 Peter 1:17-19). We receive His free gift of salvation by hearing His Word (Romans 10:17), believing in Him (John 8:24), repenting of our sins (Acts 17:30,31), confessing His name (Matthew 10:32,33), and being baptized in water for the remission of sins (Romans 6:1-4; Acts 2:38). When we show our faith in this way, God adds us to His church (Acts 2:47; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
In order to go to Heaven, we must serve God faithfully until death (Revelation 2:10; 2 Timothy 4;4-8). When one sins after becoming a Christian, he can be forgiven. He must confess his sins, repent, and pray for forgiveness (James 5:16; Acts 8:13-24).

God's Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace Alone. Faith Alone. Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ. Also to repent and be baptised. 1 Peter 4:17-18

    @Dr Taylor Marshall
I would submit this point of view. Regarding baptism. Now I heard you say that the only valid way to be baptized is by name of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit. There is one place the Bible refers to baptism that way and yet it is never carried out that way. There is a singular use of the word name and not names. We know John ch 5 gives Jesus as the name of God. Matt 1 gives us Jesus as the name of Jesus. John 14 Jesus gives us the name of the H.S. in His name. There is but one name. John 1 says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. 1:14 That word became flesh. On the day of Pentecost When asked what to do. Peter said Repent be baptized in Jesus name and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Peter had the chance to repeat Matt 28:19 and did not. Here is why, I believe. Luke 24:44- Jesus explains that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name. If you re read those verses you will see they actually also encompass Matt 28:19-20 Acts 1 and 2. And acts 2:38-39 dovetails perfectly with John 3:3,5. Water and Spirit. Acts 2:38 water and Spirit. No where in the Bible was anyone ever baptized using titles of Father Son Holy Spirit. But everyone was baptized in the name of Jesus. If we are to let the bible and Jesus be our teacher. The word and not tradition. Furthermore it was the Catholic Church that officially changed the mode of baptism

I’ve always wondered if the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is to not be baptized.
I always assumed the reason it doesn’t have to be holy water or even a baptized Catholic is in case of an emergency and especially during the end times or in countries where Catholicism is illegal-resources such as holy water and baptized Catholics may be limited. Yet, Jesus Christ has no boundaries in His saving grace.
Thankfully in my heart I don’t believe I’ll live to see the end times. I do believe we all will see our own end times and death can come like a thief in the night.

Read the whole chapter for context; and let me ask you this, if baptism saves you as you say Peter is saying that in this verse, why is it that the same Peter shows that is not true? Read all of Acts 10 and 11 for context: Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Now explain to me why these were filled with the Holy Spirit and baptized afterwards, as were the Apostles and those at Pentecost? I know that few that believe water baptism saves and you may not believe this scripture, which is inspired by God, is proof, just as John the Baptist says in Luke 3 that his baptism is unto repentance but the one coming after him, this same Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire. I am hoping that others make examine the scriptures and see that we are saved by grace through faith as scripture teaches Luke 16:31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. Romans 10:9-10
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Galatians 3:26for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 1 John 5:10-13 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.

@@_ready__ I believe that a sincere and honest resolution to keep the ten commandments is required for salvation because that is what it means to be OBEDIENT to God. But I don't believe that we necessarily have to obey EVERY SINGLE commandment without EVER breaking even one of them throughout our entire life in order to be saved. This is because OBEDIENCE is not the same thing as PERFECTION. An OBEDIENT person isn't someone who NEVER EVER disobeys even one commandment in his entire life; An obedient person is one who (a) has made a SINCERE resolution to obey all the commandments of God (b) depends on the grace of God (not on his own human power) in order to achieve this (c) doesn't hesitate to sincerely ask for forgiveness from God anytime he unfortunately disobeys any of the commandments.

Grace means unmerited favor. Assurance of salvation
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
      Ephesians 4:30
      Salvation by Faith:
Yet we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ , so we also, have believed in, Christ Jesus , in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no man will be justified. Galatians 2:16
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ died in vain Galatians 2:21
IN WHOM YE ALSO TRUSTED,AFTER THAT YE HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION: IN WHOM ALSO, AFTER THAT YE BELIEVED, YE WERE SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE. Ephesians 1:13
Therefore the law has been our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. Galatians 3:24
WORKS VS FAITH: Our works reflect our faith. Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey me”, That obedience is a reflection of our faith, and love for Jesus, not an obligation, because of fear of going to hell
Before I got saved I tried to do good works out of FEAR of going to hell. Now that I am saved I do good works out of LOVE for my savior and not out of FEAR. Which would you rather have? A child who loves you and does good so they don’t disappoint you, or a child who does good out of fear so you don’t punish them?
You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the law; you have fallen from grace. Galatians 5:4
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy he saved us. Titus 3:5
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1John 1:8

@johnmizak9589 The Bible teaches all are born sinless and pure (Matthew 18:1-5; 19:13-15).

The act of baptism in and itself does not save. When Peter wrote baptism saves us, he was using the story of Noah’s ark to get the complete picture. Baptism is merely an outward act by a person of understanding age of their inward decision and commitment to follow by Grace through faith in Christ Alone for their salvation. We are not saved by a mere act or work that we participate in or do, lest any man should boost. It is Christ plus nothing.
