Though I don't play Fox, I still find this to be one of the best and most straightforward guides for a character that I have ever seen that goes over everything in a simple manner instead of "what all does what and at what percent", not to say those are bad, however.
As someone brand new to Smash I found this really helpful. Fox and Falco are the only two characters I really care for in this game and this was a good introduction to Fox. Nice work!
@valy0f I've been watching loads of Larry, the man's a genius! :D With regards to the characters: I've... sort of grown to like most of 'em. There's only a few I really can't stand for some reason. Fox/Falco, Wolf, Ike, Yoshi come to mind as a few I really like. EDIT: Just noticed I hadn't subscribed to him yet thanks to your comment, I now did!
So much better than Zeros guides. He seems to have no rhyme or reason with how they’re structured and takes 20 minutes when at the end of the video I’ve learned one combo. This is what a guide should be. You went through every single move talked about strengths and weaknesses then showed kill setups and combos. Nice job Larry!
@@youfee2393 Why should I? UA-cam at the end of the day is a business. Which means content creators are competing against eachother to put out the best content that people want to watch. Why would I watch a twenty minute disorganized video versus something concise and to the point? Also don't think that criticism is a bad thing. Maybe if Zero altered the way he makes his videos I would watch them. Doesn't mean I hate the guy. Just don't like his guides.
*Unrolls controller, pulls out notepad, grinds away till the end of time- or until his mom tells him to stop* Btw this is one of the best guides I’ve seen on any character for Ultimate. All the other guides either take too long to get to the point spend too much time on unnecessary stuff, or leave out a ton of stuff! I love how you did the combos and kill set ups. Honestly everyone should be following this format. And I feel like if you did guides on every character they could get super popular.
This was the fastest and simplest guide I've seen so far. Well done space man Edit: And most in depth to go with how quick this went on a single character analysis. You really know Fox
The structured format here is such a breath of fresh air compared to live stream-of-consciousness unedited "guides" that so many other content creators are trying to push out as fast as possible. Thanks Larry.
I honestly wish I checked this guide out earlier. You didn't fight a CPU in training mode and focus on a few combos, you actually explained his playstyle and every move. Blows ZeRo's guides out of the water.
For as short as this guide was, the quality and information on this guide was superb. Love your content and play, looking forward to seeing more in the future :D
I find this a simple but effective guide just to be able to know what you should be doing when picking Fox without blank trying random stuff thanks Larry
thanks Larry. im new to smash and found myself enjoying fox more than any other character. this type of content really helps me understand more about what I'm doing and gives me information to take to my next match(es). 🦊
Honestly i did try to browse UA-cam (and the internet) for an actual Fox guide since the game was out and couldn't find a proper one until I met your video ^^ It's straightforward, browses a lot of aspects in surface and in depth which is great. I learned a lot and i'll surely come back here to apply the advices you give us. Thanks a lot for your work :)
I also found that against certain characters you can pummel during grab and jab when they break out IF they dont jump out and Fox's jab comes out faster than their move.
Funny story: I always wanted to try and play as Fox since Melee when I was a kid. I always mistook him for Tails, being a SEGA kid then. Hopefully now I can get into playing Fox, maybe as a secondary to my main Sonic
Nice and quick! That's how most guides should be like. This is very informative and well structured indeed. It makes me want to try out fox lol. I'm never gonna watch ZeRo's lame ass 20-40 minute long character guides ever again. Thank you!
This is an amazing and quick guide, Zero’s guides seem so boring and extended because of this. This gets straight to the point and is interesting, and I don’t even play Fox
This was great, simple and clear felt like I learnt alot about fox, almost makes me want to play him and will definitely help when playing against him.
I'd love to see a part 2 of this going more in depth. With things such as applications of sweet spot vs sour spot moves, more combo applications, and a bit more detail as to what to do to approach, and deal with disadvantage. Phenomenal video though. Good stuff!
So I found a cool fox combo!!! Basically, at 0 percent to 50 percent, fox can do a cool combo that I like to call the "20XX loop". Here is the combo!!! Down tilt, fastfall f-air, jab lock, down tilt, fastfall f-air, jab lock, repeat.so basically, you do down tilt, and then to a short hop forward air. When fastfalling the forward air, make sure that the final hit doesnt hit, and then you do a jab lock that leads into down tilt
Wow amazing video! New player to smash my first ever smash game about two weeks in and no main. I might just pick up fox now you made him look fun and did a really great at explaining how to use him best beginner video I've seen by far. Sub here!
Great guide, only request please make another guide, but this new vid would go more in dept on how to perform the combos and how to identify which opportunities to use each one
Working on getting every character into elite smash. Fox is by far the hardest for me so far. Really frustrating in the beginning as there's so few kill options compared to the rest of the cast. Getting better as the time goes and it feels rewarding
Great video! In your future character videos (especially if you do a falco one) I would love to hear your thoughts on how the character fits in the current meta, in addition to the content you provided in this video.
Thanks for the guide, but i have one question.ive been playing fox for quite a bit, knowing hes good against heavies and floaties. But my one problem with fox is how do you pressure small camper characters like toon link or ledge campers like ridley, or other small rushdowns with more range or options like pichu, mythra, and roy? I cant make a solid approach with fox against these characters without getting a weak untrue combo, taking massive damage or even losing a stock, due to their projectile coverage, combo stoppers, or huge hitboxes. Reflector isnt that great of an option, because if you reflect a projectile and miss, the opponent can punish you due to reflector’s abysmal lag.

I was a fox main in smash 4. didnt like him in ultimate at first, mostly cause he didn't feel as fast as he was in 4 (in relation to the rest of the cast I mean), and because without jump cancelling I haven't been landing many upsmashes, and also because the shorthop aerial shortcut messes my up airs a lot.
