I tend to think most of these secondary burn type stoves are a lot of trouble because they burn so hot and their component parts suffer from it. I also think that the manufacturers lie a little about their extended burn times. Anything that burns super hot also burns fast. I can close either the intake air damper or the chimney damper and achieve the same effect = an extended burn time. I strongly dislike those pellet stoves too. There is no savings when you have to pay for pellets.

This one particular stove design is a real turkey,they make one of the best pellet stoves on the market,but their refusal to admit they have a problem with this stove design is puzzling.
