we only have this bike (250f) here in Brazil, i learn how to ride in trails in this bike! And i recommend for any one who wants to start in trails!
I own a 250f . HyperLitemoto makes a whole bunch of stuff specific for this bike. I have an exhaust and tuner for it and it increased power. I mainly just rip singletrack and it does great. It’s not meant for big jumps but bunny hops it does great. Big hill climbs it’s not the best but it’s doable . All that being said , I’m a shorter guy so if your bigger , prob not the bike for you but they do make linkage kits for it so you could make it work.
How about pit riding and also pit walls, how does it do? Bc I have a 250r but want a bike that takes less maintenance that can still do bigger stuff, my buddies 85,2stroke made it up thr one big wall
Can we take a moment to appreciate the snail type chain adjusters.... I've liked these since my 1985 XR 200 and XR350. They are simple and work great.
I agree, combined with only 2 small bolts on the front sprocket, you could change your gearing on the trail in a fee minutes.
Air cooled EFI is awesome. However, Im 6'1 210lbs and I was way too big just sitting on one. If u are not short, the KLX300R is a better option and room to grow into experienced riding with its power and suspension
KLX300R is better by miles ....-NY
I'm 5'9 is that klx300 to tall? Can u adjust it to sit lower ?
I have short legs
I just bought my wife one, such a great bike!
Yep more times than I'd like to admit I leave my modern bikes at home and grab my old XR250R for the trails might be heavy but I'm not winded at the end of the ride and I can ride a lot longer.. pretty much all day on one tank of fuel
Great review. Thanks for sharing info in the play bike category. It reminds of my XR200R back in '82. Who knows maybe I'll go full circle and get a CRF250F.
Look at Kawasaki KLX300R. More power, better suspension & liquid cooled. I'm goin w/that. -NY
Why compare it with a KTM 300? KTM bikes are race bikes, maybe compare the CRF250R with the KTM 300, but not this puppy. Also, power or not, anyone who knows how to control the throttle should not worry if they are on a 250 or a 500cc bike.
For reliability and cost of ownership Do you prefer air cooled vs liquid cooled. Buy a CRF 300L with a plate or get the 250F and get a plate and put $ into suspension?
We'll answer this question on Tech Talk Taco Tuesday tonight!
both bikes need suspension work
250f with suspension mod all the way mate 👍

Can they just bring back the xr250r?
Be greatful for what's available.
Why those look clapped
@@IsaiahMartens-b9nthe xr’s are probably the greatest trail bikes ever made
Yes please!! If Honda would sell a magic button kit and a retro fit EFI kit for the xrs I’d buy TWO right now! One for my 250R and one for my 650R. The old thumpers will always be king to me!!
This really is just a xr250r with a different name tho
Would this be a good starter bike? I have almost no experience besides bicycles. I am 5'6 and 190lb. I don't want to be too big and intimidating. I have pretty good motor skills if that helps at all. Thanks. Thinking of picking this up but I am going back and forth.
The more time we spend on it, the more we believe that this would be a good bike for someone who is starting out.
It depends what you want to do man if your going to do jumps and want to go fast on the whoops no don't get it but if you just want to go on trails and ride yeah get it it's perfect I'm 230 6feet tell and I rode this bike from tecate to ensenada my 3 friends where on raptors 700 and I was able to keep up with them I did hit the rev limiter on the highway but on the trail I was only like 1 min away from them
It's the easiest bike to ride and learn on. For adults my wife got the new 22 crf250f with zero experience and now she's running single track Enduro with it. The cool thing is while learning it will move slowly in 1rst gear without even touching the throttle so you can just play with the clutch and learn to roll around on it.
@@miguelplascencia6093 Can you go over any jumps with it?!
@@RagingRapids311 you'll bottom it on hard mx jumps but you can jump nominal things. Due to the suspensions on Enduro/funbikes f series trailbikes/mx bikes all being radically different.
I just got my 2023 today shipping Weight was 251 pounds
1:18 The frame spare is a glaring difference between
this and the R, like night and day, but to a casual observer
they wouldn't notice, in fact they'd be hard pressed to
tell the diff between a 110 and a 250r from a quick
look at photos.
Great video and on point with everything yall said!! I bought this bike 1 year ago exactly and other than the one wreck (warping tge front wheel:/) it has performed better than I ever imagined.! I'm 5'7" and my feet barely touch so wat i thought was gonna be to big turned out to be just right!! great bikeand I think everyone should have one :)
Man I wish they’d make that bike light. It would be cool to have a Japanese bike to compare to the Beta X trainer weight wise.
This is a point that we will address tonight in our weekly podcast, Tech Talk Taco Tuesday
Great video!! At 6'2""....210 pounds... am I too big for this bike?? I just want to trail ride with my son (and do some hill climbing) thanks for the vid🤠
I just bought one to chase my son and I'm 6.2 210 myself and I love it
@@jamesonmcfargo1067 thanks man!! It's about fun with the boy🤠
That’s exactly what I’m about to do. Getting my boy his first bike - CRF110 - and decided I need to join him! Trying to decide between CRF250 and KLX300.
Suzuki had the perfect all round play bike/enduro with their 1991 TS200 2 stroke. Please bring t back!
Looks like a nice all around fun bike. Especially for beginner riders. Not really a Honda guy ...but only Kawasaki has competitive bikes in this class so im comparing both. -Ohio
Cool video, where was the riding filmed? It looks like Wildcat Pass AZ?
Your answer will be on Tech Talk Taco Tuesday #203
Do you think its possible to ride on the dunes on this bike or what i needd to do to it to ride on them?
Looking for an enduro bike to torch on WV trails since I spend half my time worried about my Husky on the trails out here. Thanks for the video
Thanks for review. Thought if one of these, also good deals on them, and as a first “dirt”bike, I was looking at a ktm350 xcf.
6’2 220 and 45, not looking for big jump or mx, want to go on long rides, open trails. Is the 350 to aggressive of a bike you think? Maybe xcf-w? Or this just to putt around at half the price.
Answer on TTTT#212
Did you end up with the 250f?
@@booneman 24 ktm 250 xcf
I'm 6'2" could I fit on this thing?
Is the 250F as guttless as the 125F? I can't believe how powerless this 125F is (my grandsons bike). Now that said, my granddaughters 110F is full of power. I'm looking for a bike to ride with them but am hesitant because of the 125F.
Really good informative video. Question: would this be a good bike for someone that is 5’1-2 with boots on and still growing? I’m wanting to transition Back to trail bikes from my yz85. or should I look into a crf150 or a 230? Thanks.
Matt from DBT here, I feel that this bike would be a good fit for you as would a 230.
Kawasaki KLX300R is best bang for the buck & you can grow into it vs growin out of this bike easily.
I mean if you get good with 260 pounds, when you go back to high compression and aimunium frames weighting around 240 or less it's gonna feel like you're using an MTB.
THANKS !!!
Wish it came with normal front forks
Vs klx300 ?
1:03 I don't believe that is correct, not 4 lbs heavier,
rather 15+lbs heavier. (curb/wet weight)
Somehow people think KTM is better than Honda, and when they try a Honda they are always suprised how it's better than expected :) Where that expectation even comes from? KTM hasn't even existed when Honda was making the best bikes for decades. It's like people thinking Lambos are the best supercars, while they are just unreliable bad driving Audis with great looks :) Oh, it must be the looks then :)
I would be buying this next week if i didn't decide on the 250r instead
Great looking bike, seems most people
prefer blacked out rims, I can't stand them,
the look of these rims is the best. Shame that
it comes with telescopic forks, but with a
230f I've read that the CRF150R Forks fit,
maybe they would fit this bike as well, can't
say for sure... ONe of the biggest selling points of
this and the 230 for me ( a huge feature) is
being air cooled and adjustable valves, shimming
is just plain tedious.
Black rims all the way. The honda race bikes are straight killers in looks.
@@dregsta They look like crap.
@@dregsta black rims suck!
@@tomw7208 the rims matches the tire
Like why is Honda moving to trail rather than race
How would
It do in the sand?
Just fine for us!
The need a 300 or 350.
They make anything to make them faster? Seems just such a women’s trail bike.
You turn the throttle farther....this is not an inside joke. TTTT
@@DirtBikeTest cmonnnn I meant are there parts to make them faster lol.
"Pretty light... 260 lbs..."
It's just like a 300TPI... "yeah."
Young guy... please learn sarcasm. Life will be better for you.
Its is very bad weakness
F stands for Fugly!
Don’t put yourself down like that 😮
