Hi Damien, great job on the ladder buddy, the music fitted the video of you building that, i might suggest that you take some tissues to wipe of your face after dinner lol, great video Damien, and Chris, keep up the good work guys, love to see your exploits
Hey Damian, I've just re-watched one of your older videos, the Ullswater Kayak and Wild Camp, what a pleasure ! I do miss your kayaking/camping films, I know the Sevylor gave up the ghost a good while back now. Shame you didn't decide to replace it though. Gan canny Bonny lad 👍
I still have the old Sevylor kayak folded up in the shed but will probably be ruined now as the material deteriorates when folded over time. If I come across a cheap replacement I might get back into it but I think a solid kayak would be a better choice. Thanks for your comment, ATB.
so glad to see ya out wild camping again from 🇨🇦 ... i keep hoping for you to do a spring fishing camp with the cheviat yeti !!! ...that would be gut wrenching funny you two are the perfect comedy team !
I've gone off fishing as a hobby and don't have a permit anymore. The Cheviot Yeti and I will be out in the not so distant future, thanks for watching.
@@Fell_Wanderer im sure you have good reason for the not fishing.... but a vid with cheviat yeti" will be worth waiting for ill set aside a brew and save it for that video ! thank you for your responce 🇬🇧🇨🇦
I'll tell you what Damien. You've got more determination & perseverance than I have. I'd have just gone down Tool Station & bought a ladder😂 You and the kid have done well there mate👍
I thought about taking a ladder in because making one is a lengthy process but is well worth the effort as they are so useful around camp, thank's for your comment.
Easy to critique i know. wished you would have shown the pheasant prep. Aaanyway another good watch cheers Damian! Time flies. Christof so little then. Thanks again.
I would have done but my wife watches and is a bit screamish about prepping dead animals. I wasn't sure what the rules are on UA-cam regarding that kind of content? so played it safe.
I have the Hultafors Classic axe and a smaller Hultafors axe with a short handle, I think its called the trekking axe. Not the Agdor version, I think they are now called trekking premium?. Purchased them a long time ago and they have more than doubled in price. They weren't as pretty looking as the Granfor's equivalent but were a lot cheaper at the time. They came very sharp and holds an edge well for ages before needing to re-sharpen. They have gone upmarket with more expensive axes but not sure what the difference is which justifies the higher price but they are just tools and so long as the metal is solid and holds an edge I'd be happy with a budget model
I've just been out doing the Great Tommy sleep out woth Andy Wardle and we had a fantastic laugh but.... we found out something about the site/location we were camping at, it's Haunted, to the degree there's a dedicated ghost team that regularly scouer the place, I saw evidence and I wasn't scared but it certainly threw a question of all things I may have seen in the past and dismissed have suddenly come under question
Cheers Jimmy, it took all afternoon to make if I'm honest. I put a caption in the video saying, "allegedly making a ladder", in case the forestry sees it and I can deny it lol..
@@Fell_Wanderer not making fun of you Damian your channel is all about fun in the woods hope you can keep doing more , cheers Damian . Dave Hughes Stockport Cheshire
Damien, I know you said someone would comment. I would have just done a double half hitch (half the amount of twine (string) or a timber hitch less again but hey ho everyone one to themselves. Good craic you like lol still following you as usual keep them coming Inch High Private Eye . You know it makes sense you do
Thanks for the tip, the double half hitch looks easier to tie than the clove hitch. I think the best knot is the one that works for you, thanks for your comment.
yea everyone one to themselves tbh You crack me up when you say you're talking shite and waffling I'm pissing myself. I was born a short distance from spade Adam air base and now in N/Wales .cheers Dave @@Fell_Wanderer
Completely off-topic, but you're chasing Bigfoot I'm chasing ghost. What are your thoughts on parabolic mics For picking up like e v p's are everything I can't hear
I haven't tried a parabolic dish, they are high gain but very directional and could miss sounds which can come from any direction. My guess would be use a omnidirectional or wide directional mic but I'm no expert. If you want to record weak audio source from a distance then a dish would be a good choice
Thanks guys, I didn't realize, the law is a bit funny. I wouldn't have imagined that being the case. I wonder what would be the chance of being compensated from the owner, if the bird had damaged my car?.. zero chance but I could still get into trouble for taking the bird and eating it, rather than letting it rot by the side of the road.
Just want to say , I’m a massive fan .In the turbulent world your levity and comedy with principled undertone is a joy.
You know it makes sense!
Thank you for watching, pleased you enjoyed it, ATB.
You are the F'in wanderer, or shud that be the man who put F in wanderer. Good job mate

I did not for one minute think you would leave it on for long, I was joking with you Damien lol. Stay safe buddy
Nice one, Damien - enjoyed this one in the forest of doom! Chris has matured into a good bush crafter mate... 👍
Its getting to the point where he knows what to do and gets on with it, thanks for your comment.

I was eating broth as I watched this! Cannot whack it.
I nearly went out the other day, but the wind put me off. Roll on spring.
Days are getting longer and spring is just around the corner, happy days.
