@@ESCSteph Apperently, it's due to copyright issues, but at the same time, there is no copyright issues for the pre-2016 contests so why is there copyright issues for the 2016 contests?
Yeah, that's really surprising that Serhat gave San Marino the best result in history. This fact perfectly shows that unfortunately part of people are looking at ESC as a joke. Although, staging was quite good and maybe some people didn't notice how bad was his vocal? Who knows. Btw, remember controversy about who sung better live- Serhat or Madonna? 😆 I totally agree with you that the way how Eliot's song was staged wasn't right. All those drums and oversize jacket felt unnecessary. They should have done something similar to the music video to better tell the story. I really wanted this song to qualify for fhe final. I don't remember that Slovenia was that high in your top previously. Well, 23rd place is pretty high since Sebi doesn't seem to be your type of music 🤔 I guess the reason you liked Stay even though it's generic is that she has a really good voice and the chorus actually is quite catchy. I am happy that Romania has grown on you! I remember that this entry was one of those we disagreed the most on. I have always loved On A Sunday! I just whish her outfit and hairstyle would have been different. I am glad to see Australia as your biggest grower. As you know, this entry grew on me a LOT too after rehearsals. AND Netherlands... AND France 🤣 All of my favourite entries have grown on you. Yay! 😎 Agree about Tamta's outfit. I don't like it either and tbh I am not a huge fan of the staging. Cyprus was one of those countries which grew off the most after rehearsals for me. I do remember that at first you wasn't a huge fan of Azerbaijan and that did surprise me a little bit. Now Truth is even higher for you than for me 😅 What a pity that again your first place has copyright problems. I remember my experience with El Diablo. It's annoying when your winner which you want to show the most to everyone causes copyrights. Anyways, you got like from me for the winner change! 😉 Haha. 🤣 How do you feel about ESC 2019 now after 3 years? I have read people saying that it was one of the best years. 🤔
I had totally forgotten about the conversation floating around about who sang better between Serhat and Madonna but now that you mention it, I do remember it. I'm not sure why I had Sebi as high as I did in the first video. Maybe because it was different? I had a feeling you'd be very happy that Romania grew on me since I do remember that this is one of your faves. And also with France and the Netherlands. Btw speaking of the Netherlands, I'm surprised this has always been your winner because now that I know what your taste is, it doesn't really feel like your kind of winner. You tend to go for bops or powerful songs like Australia 2016 for your winner. Yes so much on the frustration regarding that once again, my winner has copyright problems 😡 Thanks for the like, btw! How do I feel about this contest now? It's good, but I prefer all contests from 2016 and on tbh.
@@ESCSteph You perfectly described my music taste and yes, Arcade is not my "typical" stlye of music. However, this song is exception cause it really made me feel something and I get goosebumps when I am listening to it. Even though it's slow, it doesn't feel boring or oldfashioned. It's actually radio friendly and very cleverly produced track imo. I agree with your opinion regarding 2019. I also prefer many other editions more. But it wouldn't be fair to say that it was a bad year cause just like every year there are some songs which I absolutely love.
@@ksesc Thanks for explaining why you love Arcade so much. I would guess many felt the same as you and that's why it won. It just never had that effect on me. But like I said, I did enjoy the performance so I was happy with it as a winner. Oh yeah, 2019 is definitely not a bad year. 2 of my top 10 all time faves came from this year after all (Switzerland and Norway).
