I remember the first video I watched was in the freezing cold, 4 years I think it was - watching how to load a horse. It was raining. It was nasty mid Australian winter near Canberra in the Koziosco national park. I was sitting on the float trying to get reception to load the video. My friend and I were both frustrated beyond belief. Nothing was working! We got that horse onto the float about an hour after the video reference. Then a few years later a very good and close friend of mine, introduced me properly to your methods. And then I attended the clinic in Wagga. Been hooked ever since. #journeyon20
My horse has problems loading onto the trailer. When i got him it took us a good hour or more to load him to get to where i was keeping him. His gate was all the way in the back and the trailer was in the driveway. He wouldnt even come out of the gate when he saw the trailer. That was over a year ago. A few weeks ago i took him to his first horseshow and he got on the trailer after about 15 minutes going there, and 10 minutes to go home. I was really happy with him... (continued...)
do you have any ideas on how to KEEP the horse in? My cousin has a horse who only got in the trailer to go to a training area were he was very ill treated. It took her a loooooooooong time and he can finally go in and out fine and relaxed but he bolts off the second he THINKS someone's gonna lock him in. He's a very stuborn stallion and has no respect for being tied (simply breaks loose when he needs to) and we sort of ran out of ideas on how to make him STAY loaded.
warwick, I appreciate your videos. After working with my filly she loads calmly but when I drive her anywhere , she is a nervous wreck. Do you have any suggestions?
(Continued) ... But then we had a horrible experience with the trailer. I dont have my own trailer and on the way home, part of the floor of the trailer broke through and my friends horse severely broke his leg when it went through the floor and hit the pavement. He leaned on my horse for support and when we got home Baylie (my horse) didnt want to leave him. My friend's horse was put down later that day. My problem now, is that i don't know how to reintroduce my horse to a trailer. Any ideas?
need to show people how to load and unload a straight load trailer. To me the slant load is to easy and most people walk in with the horse. Straight load allot different. More trust involved

I would pretend your horse has never sen a trailer, and start the whole process all over again.
Good day. haha
