Because it's fun. I love that answer to why you'd hike through the water.
Yeah! So glad to see you out backpacking with your traimily! You are so upbeat and hilarious. Happy trails!
You should get some wading shoes, like Columbia PFG; they are excellent.
They need a trail that goes between Lake Okeechobee and Gulf of Mexico.
Cool ! I hike and gravel ride out at DuPuis at least 2x / week ..... well not Aug-Oct 🙂 Your first campsite fire is next to the canal which is loaded with big gators.
Your outfit looks like you are a seventies chick😅just kidding did you enjoy your trip back with your friends it looks like a great adventure
That ocean is beautiful on a sunny day with waves crashing! I’m now starting to get back into trail hiking since Spring is next month. By the way, I love Pat Benatar’s song “We Belong”.
Purchase a good pair of jungle boots you won't regret it. I used to hunt in the wet conditions you are experiencing . Good luck with your hike.
Do you have any tips regarding chiggers? We day hike in central Florida and they feed on us for days after.
Great upbeat vid! Had me laughing out loud several times.😂😂😂👍👏🏻
Yay I missed seeing Tripod. How fun it must be being together again!
Slog or no slog, Kelly's trail legs just wanna keep on going! It was so much fun seeing you cavort with trail buddies. 😊 Got nothing but respect, cause my feets would be destroyed after a few hours of being wet. 9L back I her element 🌲⛺️🌲
Looks like so much fun. You attitude and perseverance always amazes me. Laughed out loud at the bird sighting. Hope you are doing well and have a great weekend. Stay safe and be happy.
The snake just flew away! LOLOL
Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun!
geek
Florida, except for the perpetual wet feet, seems like a hikers paradise.
Enjoyed another trip with you guys doing all the work ! Thanks 🙏👍 again Kelly & trail buddies !
Neoprene socks would keep your feet warm and dry. I use them when mountain biking in the winter time just a suggestion..❤
Ugh these Florida trails can be brutal. I'll take high elevation mountain hikes over swamp hikes any day. Looks like an awesome adventure with friends, though. Safe travels!
Love all your videos, but you are the best atvshowing us the trail and all it has to offer and throw at you. I'm glad to see you back out there enjoying yourself with good friends. Thanks for sharing
I’ve hiked the OTL twice. It is very wild Florida, and an incredible experience. I highly recommend wearing some Dirty Girl Gaiters to keep the gunk out of your shoes.
You are a special lady, so proud of you, you are truly my comfort.shamim 👀🕊⚘👏🤝💑👫🎎🫂🏡🏢
That looked like so much fun!! 🤩 (although as a FL native, those water crossings still seem scary!! I need to get braver! 😂)
Thanks again for sharing your adventures. You are so upbeat you make all your adventures fun to watch.
lol.. you truly become a real Florida hiker when you walk through water.
Those are Malina/Christmas Palm berries. They're a little sweet, sour and salty. You'll find Muscovy ducks and birds munching on them.
Always looks like a good time with you guys.Great to see you back on the trail.
So fun!!! That snake/night hawk scare omg so funny . As I was thinking why aren’t u wearing pants the water got deep. Extra pair of shoes 👍
I love the videos you edit them very well and your content is so amazing love the views and the trall🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video! My mom has decided to tag along on some of my hikes (of her own volition!). She's 68 and we did 4.6 miles yesterday on the Suwanee River at Stephen Foster State Park yesterday!
Awesome vid
Thanks for sharing your hike on another wet section of the FT. I live in North Central Fl . The water levels have been up since hurricane 🌀 back in 2017 .
What fun!! Absolutely loved seeing you back on the FL trail again!! Thanks for filming and omg, that snake!!!!! Haha, great video again. Fun to have the gang along😻!
Beautiful! That trail is on my to-do list. Yeah, the Florida Trail System isn’t just the main trail. There’s trails all around the state. I’ve hiked a nice chunk of them. There’s a trail like the Ocean-to-Lake in the Florida panhandle that takes you to the Alabama border off the main Florida Trail. Rock on!! Beautiful weather
LOL @ the snake sighting and "blonde girls die first" conversations!
Quite the adventure!
The flying snake was cool ;-)
Kelly says "I'd like to see the gator before it sees me" 😂🐊 Yessssss!!!
So good to see you in your element !!!
What happened to those waterproof socks you had?
The water would go over the sock and likely seep in at the cuff. It was also far too mucky and muddy and I personally don’t think they would be a good fit for this kind of hiking.
Here in central Florida (Lakeland area). Love the videos! Be safe and have a blast! Live life! ❤️🤟
As a new subscriber I’ve been playing catch-up on your videos and just finished watching your videos on the Florida trail. Girl as muddy and nasty as that was I can’t imagine going back and punishing myself with more of that lol. You are a beast of a hiker for sure
I’m in Palm Beach. Where can I bring you some trail magic??
Howdy Kelly! Where are the mountains? Sooooooo flat! Guess that’s so the snakes don’t roll over? Have fun y’all!
Hi Kelly what an Awesome Amazing Beautiful scenery that’s a big trip 😊
I love the energy of the hiking group and the scenery is amazing! Thank you for sharing your journey!
So awesome that you have such a good group to thru hike with 😊
Thank you for sharing and enjoy the trail. You might want to consider getting a pair of gaiters to keep the debris out of your shoes so you don't have to stop and clear them out during the hike.
Looks like a good time sloshing thru Florida with friend. The aquatic plant you refer to as mossy is Hydrilla it’s highly invasive and unfortunately choking out a lot of the water ways, you will probably see more of it in your future kayaking travels.
I night hiked on the AT all the time and slept during the day when the shelters were empty.
Big crowd means lots of fun. Trial still wet but not has deep few week back. Not sure if it will dry out this year. I did the trail twice last dry both times.
Glad have you back ❤
Looks like you’ve been hacked. I’m getting private messages from you and I’m sure you don’t send messages to subscribers
The moss is most likely spagnum, very good medical plant.good for putting on infections, antisepic.
Kelly, at least the cottonmouths weren’t out and about, good vid. I like your crazy choices for hikes.
Good morning have a good year 2024 🍾🍾💋❤ kiss 💕💞💋❤💗
👋👋❤️😊
You're up in my neck of the woods! I'm in Jensen Beach.
Kelly, have no fear. The cameraman never dies.
Really cool night hawk! Glad you caught site of one!
The beginning of the video at the ocean let's go back at the beach 🦈👍
“Omg it’s a snake coiled up”
“Wait, no no it’s a bird.. “ 😂
Kelly, try the gaiters. I used em in big cypress and it cut down on junk in my shoes
I literally ordered some while I was hiking this day 😂
Hey! whatever vid it is, or which trail, I am going to say, your hair color is at its best, being natural. It seems to be a darker tone but just saying.
Let's go another hike!
they make booties for your shoes or boots. My company has them imported for new hires. You know i took a few pair for walking lmao
Wow!! Amazing and such fun watching you!
I thought your friends abandoned you half way through the hike
Wow that was some hike. Why is it I feel comfortable hiking in grizzly bear country, but would not do this with any possibility of gators!? 😂
@UC26b4rZBFcwaAjy4OgC5FIA I really hope someday you get to Wyoming and backpack the wind river range, the 100 mile high route, and after you complete it I want to hear you say you’ve never seen or done anything like it before. 💪
Never been a fan of Florida - too flat! I need mountains, forests and waterfalls.
I'm considering Hokas! Which do you suggest for hiking?
I wear the challengers and also tried speedboats. Challengers are my all time favorite !
I love yall have nicknames for each other.. Whats yours?
9 lives
Your gonna hike through my backyard
I just found your channel.. love it
Get some water shoes. I recommend Rockport. When you encounter water take off your dry shoes and socks. Put them in a small bag with a small towel and attach to your backpack. Gotta be Amphibious when hiking or backpacking flooded areas.
It’s a good idea, trust me I have considered that. However, I think it would be too time consuming to constantly be changing out shoes. I would also worry about my feet hurting in the water shoes because at least in the hokas I know I’m getting good support. Thanks for the suggestions tho I will check out those shoes
I wear the water shoes for the total duration of the trail when it's wet, except when I'm at camp. Then I use my dry socks and shoes. The only extra gear is a small bag and water shoes. But I understand backpacking and keeping it light. I pack like I'm a mule so lol.. anyway thanks for the awesome content 👍
You all make cold and wet look so fun 😂✌️love the video and Love that hat,are they in your store for purchase?
Working on it!
I love watching you all hike.❤
Hold up, did you do this trail already?
No lol
My bad. Love watching your videos. Been watching since your AT thru Hike@@kellyhays23
If BlueGabe see that he would say why shoes your feet are the shoes lol
Hi kelly I love Ocean to Lake trail I have hiked it both ways. But I am bot brave enough to hike at night. Enjoy.
Hi! I am looking to hike it this winter for the first time. Would you be interested?
🔥🔥🔥💯 always awesome 💯
9L on the FL trail.
All is well!
Love the Pit Vipers!
Awesome! Nice quick Hike! :)
awesome!
I’m going to start the trail this coming Thursday. I’m super excited. It’s been raining the past couple days so I’m planning for even wetter conditions. Great video…
Hi! I’m looking to hike the trail in November for the first time, solo..:for now until I can recruit someone. Do you have any advice ?
@@Aleahha561just go enjoy yourself. It will be wet, muddy and buggy. Take care of your feet! Stop and let them dry off and clean the sand and dirt out of your shoes. It’s a beautiful trail and you’ll love it. I’m planning on doing it again in 2025 and make it an annual hike.
@@walkeroutdoorsadventures8521 cool! Are you planning on going solo?
@@Aleahha561 I’ll probably have my hiking buddy “Soda-pop” with me. But if he can’t I’ll probably be by myself.
My home Beach
Very Cool!!!!!
❤❤❤
Coffee for your next AM adventure!
Thank you so much!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video 👏
👍
Looks great
Aw man! the group hike feel like you are bragging about a party I was forbidden to go to. Your solo stuff is much better.
Forbidden? What? lol
@@kellyhays23 LOL I do love your content .
Why try to dry your sox?
Because it’s human nature lol
I’ve been wanting to do this for years.
I’m planning on hiking half of it this winter for the first time. Looking for someone to come with
❤❤❤❤
It's always so fun to watch you and your friends on trail!
Thanks for coming along, Nam!
Ever considered rubber boots? Wouldn’t that be more comfortable during the wet parts,..? 🥶
Congrats to continuing in though. You’re a tough cookie ☺️
I think rubber boots would be miserable for a few reasons: 1. The depth of the water varies. If you step in the wrong spot of hit a hole it can go from shin/ankle to knee/thigh. Now the inside of your boots are wet. 2. Trudging through that many miles of swamp in rubber boots would be very hard on the feet and I know for sure for me would equal blisters. 3. Under most of the water is super thick, shoe sucking mud. Because boots don’t form fit as nicely as a laced shoe, I think one would get stuck a bunch of accidentally walk out of the boot. They might be a good idea for a shorter day hike but for 20+ mile days out there I would highly recommend just some fast drying trail runners
@@kellyhays23 If it varies that much it’s understandable, and I get the comfort aspects too. I think it’s my slight OCD that gets me, seeing such nice shoes being ruined. But hey, I guess it’s best think to think of them as (more) disposable,.. 😅
So today, Sunday Feb 18 2024, kelly found a way to manipulate viewers into patreon...smart move kelly...!
it’s not manipulation. It’s something that i offer. If it’s not for you then that’s fine
Wellington boots!
Hahaha you would not want to hike this trail in those!
I've walked miles & miles in the Scottish Highlands in them, cross-country not on trails, swampy.. Lightweight p'haps, cut down, long socks..?
@@iainsanders4775 the water in some spots is waist deep with water so they would likely just get filled with water as stuck in the mud :/
Ok. I give up! @@kellyhays23
@@iainsanders4775 😆
