Those two licks at 1:33 and 1:41 are some of the most brutal shredding I've ever heard, as well as the solo. I felt chills up my spine watching that. It's like watching an industrial shredder chew up a whole car.

Bass sweep with no pick is a inhuman thing. Yeah, this guy isn't a normal human like us
I can't do it with both, but I think it's acutally easier with fingers but idk its gonna take alot of time with both techniques.
Learned the finger technique not too long ago but speeds like this take a special kind of skill I for sure don't have yet lol
As we all know this bass line was originally executed with a plectrum . However this version is just as powerful .

@@ij_misir1965 Totally understand why. I've been playing 16 months. Learned a bunch of intermediate Rock and Heavy Metal songs but this guy is light years ahead. Idk about you but bass is all about beating different levels. Also I don't care about a particular techniques until I find it in a song. Then I learn it. For some reason I learn much faster that way. You have any words of wisdom I'd love to hear um. Bass is easily my favorite thing I've ever done musically. BASS=Rhythm, percussion, groove, melody, depth and sonic thickness. What else do we need?

I started playing bass a few months ago, being a guitar player for 25 years.
Now i want to use fingers instead of a pick. Two questions: Do you use 3 or 4 fingers? And if you use 3, do you count "fours" also like Alex Webster? Like: (a) (m) (i) 1,2,3 - 4,1,2 - 3,4,1 - 2,3,4.
Pretty sure he uses 3 fingers going 1 ring 2 index 3 middle 4 index

How you manage to play that fast? I´ve been years playing the bass and i just can´t image how to practice to get that level... lol man its what can i say XD
Just gotta practice the actual speed is all along with precision. I can do just about everything he does other than sweeps myself.
You have to be Russian to achieve these speeds
It's important to hit the strings with great speed, not great force. It's the speed that creates the attack. Excessive force on the strings is just wasted energy.

How do you play that fast? You play slow. Then faster. Then fast. You need to practice and start slow at a speed you can play consistently, with endurance and steady strikes. There is no short cut, just practice.
