Too many people don't know politics or have a proper political view and vote as if picking a football team.
To anyone sitting watching this, [1] - you are listening to a Lady who speaks to truth, always has; [2] - her pronouncement on British politics and the "2 Party system" when the "People" vote, take heed, because she is correct. For those who believe that Nigel Farage should step up, he has already tried & failed - and would waste his time trying again. In reference to Anne and "the 2 party system", until Commons debates & passes legislation, changing how Commons is create, at a General Election ( that is allowing other parties to compete as a comparable/potential party) then GB will for ever and a day be stuck with what you currently have. Totally and continually disrupted by the Scottish SNP, and undermined by the DUP.

Voting for ConLab to keep ConLab out is the very definition of stupidity, all we get is 'same shit different year'. If you want to see a change then make a change, carefully vet and vote for someone else, because you can guarantee that a politician recieving your vote will believe whole heartedly that you voted for them and that their ideas are then best. Nobody ever got elected and thought I'm only here because of a protest vote.
I am past caring, and I am not going to vote Conservative. I will vote Reform, I don't care if we get a Labour Government. Particularly after the Covid shit show.

Wise words from the wonderful Anne Widdecombe. She's spot on about the Conservative party not being the Conservative party anymore and haven't been for quite some time.
The problem was we racked up a £400 billion debt with Covid and the energy subsidy package costing billions more. The Corporation Tax increase should have been sold as a temporary measure to claw back £47 billion. They also need to crack down on public spending to reduce the interest paid on debt, which they won't.

As Peter Hitchens said... The Conservatives winning the 2010 elections was the worst thing that could have happened to conservatism in this country. If they had have lost they would have died and we might have a proper conservative alternative by now. All we have is Blairite red and Blairite blue.
And the "proper conservative alternative" would never have a dash of power and it would be Labour and Lib Dems as the 2 major parties.
Tories needed to be pulled away from over the top social conservatism.... it's just the Left have won all the wars for culture so effectively that the Tories are ineffective against it.

The UK is being systematically weakened. N.I. , Scotland, Wales are being encouraged / manoeuvred to separate from England. We are overrun with non-documented people, rising crime, little justice, overcrowded schools, GP practices, and hospitals. Broken infrastructure of utilities. No real autonomy or self supporting independence but reliant on other broken nations to provide food, electricity, gas, etc etc. Too many rapid changes arising from the green eco agenda. The Tories have been inept, and Labour simply looked on.
for England and Wales to prosper we MUST jettison Scotland and N.I. (N.I. is not a nation or a province, it is 6 counties of Ireland in the north east of that island).

The current farce that is green renewable energy is a weapon designed to cause friction and divide us. The net zero bullshit has nothing to do with climate change but a means of grasping more control. The energy crises blamed on Putin is a lie. The aggressors are NATO. The changes required to power our planet need to be endorsed by every country cooperating to find solutions. It requires something humans don’t possess. Common sense and a common goal to join together.

God that woman is fantastic,if only she was younger and willing. She is honest,easy to understand,fair and so so experienced. She has more sense in her little finger than those idiots put together. I agree up to a point, Ann. However, we are totally pissed off with both main parties, who lie to us and connive to appease and promise us the earth but deliver a compost heap as soon as they're elected.
My personal opinion is that Reform will buck the trend of non-entity 'new' parties, purely and simply because we have HAD ENOUGH!
The older, wiser, steadier hands have, by definiton, to come from the existing MPs and are thin on the ground.

A figure like Trump would be interesting to see run. Referring here to someone like a businessman, someone with charisma and such. When Trump ran first time, he chose the Right, not the Left, and was a businessman and chose wisely.

Labour was the "New Party" at one point , we just need Labour and Tory voter to vote for "Reform" [they can't do any worse]
The root cause of our problems is nigh on 25 years of socialism. Blair got in in 1997 with a landslide and in 2010, we had the coalition. 2015 saw a Conservative majority and 2016 the decision to leave the EU. Between 2010-2015, there was limited room for Cameron to manoeuvre because of the Lib Dems but once they were out of the way, he could have pursued a conservative agenda. He did not. The only reason he agreed to a referendum was because UKIP scared the living daylights out of him in the 2015 election.
Once we voted to leave, he stepped down. He was an out and out remainer and could not execute the orders of the country. Fair enough. We then had the May/Ledsom contest. Andrea Ledsom made some tactless and unkind remark about the dhildless May and the next thing we know, she has withdrawn from the race. It stank at the time and it smells even worse today. She would probably have won.
Inbstead, the useless Home Secretary was promoted to the to job and showed her duplicitous nature in full by doing everything she could to thwart Brexit. In this she was fairly successful in that Boris tweaked her deal a bit and then signed Northern Ireland over to the EU.
Boris went on to accelerate the net zero nonsense to unsustainable levels and ran down all of our reserves while importing essential, strategical energy from over seas, making us a hostage to fortune. Ask the Germans what this feels like. Or the Italians.
Liz was elected on conservative principles and was looking good. A few weeks later, she has thrown the unfortunatege Kwarteng under the bus, effectively blaming him for what happened. Be aware that the PM is also First Lord of the Treasury. There is no possible way Kwarteng could have presented that budget without Truss being fully aware of it, so by firing him, she has shown herself in her true colours and a very unattractive hue they are too.
The bottom line is that Labour is loony left, relying on slogans and dogma to carry the day while the Conservatives are now New Labour. Socialism has NEVER worked. The USSR went bankrupt, the EU is going bankrupt, Venezuela, which has even bigger oil reserves than Saudi is bankrupt.
The threat is Jeremy 'The', He must go immediately ! , Jacob Rees Mogg or Ann Widdecombe should be Prime Minister ! , The Conservatives need to grow a backbone !!!
