Singapore Airlines' business class: where you pay a premium to sleep at a 45-degree angle. 😂 Hope they consider retrofitting the seats.... I absolutely agree that the cabin crew seemed so passionate about their work! Their service was truly attentive and professional.
Excellent honest review! Thx also for the review of the courtyard Marriott- we are staying overnight. We flew 1st class in 2019 with SA to Japan and it was fantastic. We are flying SA this spring to Singapore from EWR and I really don’t like the footwell/lying on a side angle!! I am 5’2” so hopefully it won’t be terrible for me but my hubby is 6’ and has back issues. Not looking forward to our Ultra long flight. SA needs to redo their hard product. Luckily we are flying on miles as the business class ticket for this huge amount of flying time and horrible angle seat is not good. We are flying Qatar to Africa later in 2025 in the Q suite and IMO the best airline in the world.
I flew JFK-SIN-JFK twice and also SIN - EWR Once. All flights were on A350-900. Seats were horrible. You have to stretch in diagonally in to a tight leg space to sleep. Service was OK. Nothing to brag about. One other complain was that there is no touch screen on the big monitor. You have to control the selections from the tiny hand held screen by the seat. That was kind of nonsense. I booked the cook and got Lobster meal and it was good. Desserts were not fresh. I am referring to all my 18++ hour 7 sectors. Not just one bad experience. Their Frequent flyer program is horrible. I was a gold member and they did not privilege me at all. I was Just another passenger to them. I am doing a one short haul business with them this year and I am not expecting anything phenomenal service from them. I have flown alot to say this with many many airlines for the past 25 years and SQ is bit overated!

In 19 hours flight, they should have two dishes or main dishes and breakfast or snack before landing because it's 19 hours not like 10 hours

Were you able to reserve seat 10A for your husband ? If so then I suggest that! That seat is a bulkhead and the leg rest is across the whole front

Can you recommend a better airline to get to Asia from NY airports ?
The odd place to put your legs does worry me a bit.
