What a beautiful car and lovely colour, this was definately the best shape fiesta and such a little belter for the boy racers.. Looks like it's well loved and looked after💙👍😍
love it ..this was my first car back in 80s a silver one EGS 736Y. this one nice but not keen on spaced out alloys and the huge exhaust. great cars, lovely sharp go cart handling.
Omg how did this video find me!? My brother had a mk1 xr2 brand new in that same colour n it got stolen from our driveway n it was found n returned 3 weeks later with no interior, spoiler n bumpers. They left the wheels on at least! Beautiful car! 👍
@onlyme9254 & @leekindlell9937...had a Y plate caspian blue back in the day loved the thing...Daves car in the vid was a belter brought all the memories back 😎
I had two black MKI XR2s and a silver one between 1989 and 1995...fab little cars. For my last one (black) I had a 1700cc stage 2 engine built by Specialised Engines in Grays Essex, the usual Janspeed exhaust and manifold, K&N air filter, up-jetted carburettor, 40% uprated 1" lowered springs and Bilstein dampers all round. Had the wheels diamond cut on the rims with the pepperpots sprayed gloss black to match the car, shod with 185/60 R13 Yokohama A008s...such a fun car to drive...happy days! :)
But who buys this and thinks purely about the money? I’d buy it more for the driving pleasure and being different from all the others than what it’s worth on paper 😂
@@resnonverba137 nothing wrong with the CVH, bevelled hydraulic tappets? not a problem, scrap yard, find flat bottom tappets and it`s job done. Valve stem oil seals were a common fault too, still, not hard to fix.
@@Stickleback You say there's nothing wrong with it and then immediately show that there was. It was rough, some may say pleasingly rorty, and smoked horribly as you suggest.

They look so much better than the modern shit we have now. Wish i kept my MK1 1.3 Ghia I loved that car.
Took my driving test in one of those in 1985. Reg was A141 RWS in red. Memories... 😊
What a car to do your driving test in 👌

I was surprised at how well they went and cornered. Standard visually would certainly be my preference too.

never a fan of the MK1 XR2, the MK2 is where it happens for me, in Red, Silver or white.
My mate had a red MK2 was a good car used to travel to the raves in that car 😜
I liked the look of the mk2 but the CVH engine was a disaster.

@@resnonverba137 They were common faults with the CVH engine, not bad considering its only 2 faults, they were reliable even when smoking and noisy.
