I hate speed painting. And I really appreciate that you are taking your time to paint the mini nicely. You could do a drybrush in the final step, but you had choosen the edge highlight... best ghost paint sofar. Really. Grats mate!
Very nice! I could see this technique being very effective for aggravated, irritated and even bruised skin on some Nurgle figures. Like the Blightkings! (Of course using different colors!)
AAAaAAAh i started a Sylvaneth army instead of nighthaunt 2 weeks ago coz I didnt know where to begin with painting ghosts.... what a timing. But good video regardless, you're quickly becoming my favorite painter on youtube.
I have a corpse grinder cult gang for necromunda that i wanted to do something different with and i think this is it! Thankfully have about 6 pots of waywatcher green spare so i finally have a good use! Great vid and great effect!
i wonder how i`d achieve this look with yellow, maybe dorn yellow first?, then a mid tone yellow like Iyanden? haven't got a clue what i`d use as a glaze though, something like an orange? maybe? if anyone has an idea let me know its for an Angel more than a ghost, so i assume a more heavenly look would be done with yellows, rather than a supernatural look of blues and greens any suggestions greatly appreciated, i looked at this as a possible route, its a really good paint guide
Contrast Medium is formulated for Contrast Paints, it's basically a contrast paint without any pigment. Lahmian Medium is a shade without pigment. Tl;Dr both a very similar and in fact you could just use Lahmian for both or Contrast Medium and the difference would be very small. I just have both and why not use them?
I don't know how this will work. But I tried finding other videos that showed how to paint ghosts/phantoms, tons of sheet ghost art popped up and two step processes.
Thanks, no a medium is not water, medium is basically acrylic paint without pigment in it. It is used to thin down paint without it loosing it's properties and without affecting the integrity of the pigment, if you use water the pigment can unbind from the paint and leave a bad uneven result. My favourite medium for regular paint is Lahmian Medium from GW and for contrast paints I use the proprietary Contrast Medium. Hope that helps
I’m trying to do a nighthaunt emerald host army, so I lot of bright greens. Would you be able to do a video in that please, I have tried a lot of things but can’t get it right
Great video! I will start my Nighthaunts soon so this perfect for me! Thanks! What so you think about switching Waywatcher Green with Hexwraith Flame? The green looks quite similar to me
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thank you for the quick responde! I will try that! With that you saved my army from becoming blue ghosts. :D I like blue though #sorrynotsorry
Love the effect! Looks realy eerily and ghostly. As always I loved watching this video!
Thanks mate! I really appreciate it, you know that
That's really amazing; I do like the different colors of cowls (to differentiate units) but this would look spectacular for spirit hosts.
Thanks! It really does, I have 8 Hosts painted like that
Painted almost all my Mortal Realms models with your method. Very clean result for so few efforts ! Thank's a lot !
I painted a full army like this. I love this recipe so much
Subbed! Thanks for keeping the awesomeness that is Waywatcher Green Alive!!👍😎
SUBS FOR THE SUBS THRONE!
Best ghost painting video, mate!
Thanks 😊. I'm very proud of this recipe and I say that after painting a whole army using it. Would not change a thing
Your work is truly inspirational! My favourite miniature painting videos to watch! Thank you for sharing with us.
I really appreciate that mate! That really made my day.
Thanks for watching!

Really.
Grats mate!
Thanks, glad you liked it. I never speed paint, that's not my thing, I take my time with my minis
Really like the ghostly effect. Makes it look good
thanks

Yeah, that is a great idea
Well, that’s the technique for my Kings of War Spectres sorted. Cheers bud!
Thank you mate! If you are using it for KoW, then it's well used
That's exactly the effect I was looking for. I'll try that technique on my banshees.
Awesome! Happy to help 😘
Thank you for this meditative video, it is inspiring

It sounds like it's now time to start a new army!
dont be disheartened, sylvaneth have really cool minis
They really do! At one point I actually bought a full army, just because COOL but I realized I wasn't ever going to use it and sold it
Doing research for my ghostly imperial guard, this was wonderful, thank you!
Happy to help, I painted a full Undead army like this and it's a super quick method that works like a charm for armies.
Muy bueno Juan 👌🏻
Gracias!
excellent video, thanks! I'm trying out this scheme right now, it's so cool and such a great idea.
Glad you liked it. I painted a full army like this and it's a joy to paint

NICE, What a treasure do you have there
Been waiting for this upload since your reddit post, quality content!
Thanks! I'm glad the wait was worth it
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures done my first one, very nice effect. Thanks you for the guide ;)
Happy to help? Thanks for watching
It looks like you already have the first shadows at 1:22 just after basecoating. How's that?
It's just an effect created by the intense lights I have for recording. That's just plain Corax White

Thank you for watching! I Appreciate it
Amazing as always, thank you! I see you used two different type of mediums, what is the difference between the contrast medium and the lahmian medium?
Contrast Medium is formulated for Contrast Paints, it's basically a contrast paint without any pigment. Lahmian Medium is a shade without pigment.
Tl;Dr both a very similar and in fact you could just use Lahmian for both or Contrast Medium and the difference would be very small. I just have both and why not use them?
You can get the 4 glazes still! They're now just the 4 clear citadel air paints
I don't know how this will work. But I tried finding other videos that showed how to paint ghosts/phantoms, tons of sheet ghost art popped up and two step processes.
Great tutorial! Subscribed :)
Thanks! ❤️
fantastic
Thanks
great video! Noob question: What is `Medium`? is it water?
Thanks, no a medium is not water, medium is basically acrylic paint without pigment in it.

What medium did you use in the mix ??

@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures AHA....PERFECTO !!!
You have built an awesome channel. Any chance we see some larger models/monsters? Great work as always!
Thanks mate, I really appreciate that. Maybe at some point, can't promise anything as I do whatever I want to do
What's the music at around 2 minutes in? Very nice ambience!
Thanks! It's the music I use for all my videos since the beginning. It's from the UA-cam audio library, I can't remember how it's called sorry
Nice effect!!! Do you think i can apply this on eldar ships from battlefleet gothic?
Sure, why not?
👌😁💚
😘
Great video! I will start my Nighthaunts soon so this perfect for me! Thanks! What so you think about switching Waywatcher Green with Hexwraith Flame? The green looks quite similar to me
It can definitely work for sure, but you need to thin it down A LOT with Medium. Probably in a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio.
