Here in SanFrancisco California we have a icecream treat called It's it . Two oatmeal cookies with vanilla ice cream in the middle and the entire cookie is then dipped in chochocolate and frozen . This was sold at a place called Playland at the Beach but luckily you can buy it in grocery stores almost everywhere! It is over a hundred degrees here in the Sierra foothills right now and a good excuse to have some icecream . Hope you decide to visit one day and have some California adventures!
So cute when Nanook laughing at the end. I recommend to you the pasta with potato we call it grenadírmars or "krumplis tészta" or if you want something special i offer to you the "tócsni céklával"... I can't translate it for you but you can find the recipe on the internet :) Have a good day, guys :)
Kiitos to team AKOAL, because you introduce us to diverse cultures, languages and varied types of delicacies which are unknown to us here in India at least. It was fun watching you both enjoy your chimney cakes simultaneously with some food conversations... 😁 Nanook, happy birthday boy, you are growing up fast... 😘🎉🎂🎁
I think Nanook was getting a little bit of a sugar high at the end lol Those chimney cakes looked delicious. Never saw anything like it here in the States. Enjoy! Stay Safe! :)
After Kirikou says that the pastry is big, I love Nanook's observation that it becomes smaller when you eat it. Hah!! So true. At his age to observe that you can't have your Kürtőskalács and eat it too -- soooo impressive.
We have so much interesting food. For example Túró Rudi. It’s a cottage cheese bar, covered with chocolate. Light, delicious and very healthy. We used to trick small children to eat cottage cheese in this way and get the calcium intake.
Rétes, rakott palacsinta, hurka, kolbász, hókifli, csöröge fánk,rántott hús. I' m hungarian, Nanook speaks very good.👍 Is he learning in school? I like you both!!!
Moi! my suggestion of Hungarian food is trying any dishes with potatoes, because I swear, Hungarians make potatoes in so many delicious ways. Either with sausages+eggs, or in a pottage+meatballs, it's really delicious. Also, welcome to Hungary
Sweets like rétes, gundel palacsinta, zserbó, mákos bejgli, bukta, máglyarakás. Non-meat dishes like túrós tészta with garlic, grenadirmars, kőrözött. But Hungarians are really good in meat dishes like Jókai babgulyás, hortobágyi húsos palacsinta, székelykáposzta, töltött káposzta, pörkölt with nokedli. ...I became soooo hungry. :) Sorry thease are not necessary to translate, you can find those in this form of names. Enjoy!
It looks yummy, boys! Both of you look like you have grown recently. The two of you should do a growth chart, so that all of us can see how tall you are getting.
i bet you’d really enjoy a traditional cucumber salad and a traditional marinated lettuce salad😉 you might find it hard to believe, but Magyars can really rock vegetables and salads👍😎
You can separate it in several smaller bits, than you don't have to eat it all alone 😉 Those with ice cream are usually a smaller size kürtőskalacs, and they are filled with soft ice cream, totally stuffed, but it's easy to eat. But this is only a touristy thing to do, the traditional ones are like yours are!
My former house-mate ate almost everything with sour cream and pickled fruits such as peaches or cherries. That is supposed to be Hungarian, too, at least she told me it was and she should know as Hungarian. You have your normal food and on the plate you put some sour cream and in an extra bowl the fruits. And then you eat it mixed, a bit from the plate, a bit of fruit... If the food contains paprika (sweet pepper) it's already very Hungarian. Love Nanooks spontaneous pieces of wisdom... "It gets smaller when you eat it... " 😆
Sugar high! Wow. Maybe you guys can do some cooking of Hungarian food? Nanook you are too cute!! Great morning when I wake up to a new vid from you guys!
Gulyás leves typically not meet free. It’s the most known Hungarian food. It’s okay, but even as Hungarian personally is not my favourite. Halászlé vagy Újházy tyúkhúsleves nekem jobban műkszik. 😉
Hi kirikou and nanook i learned a lot from your video about finland... My boyfriend is finnish and now we have 7mos old twins... And hoping someday we also visit finland after this pandemic... And hope also that we meet you someday... So cute nanook😘
Hi Kirikou and Nanook! You mentioned that kürtöskalács comes from Transylvania and now available in Budapest as well. Well this is typical Hungarian cake and earlier Transyilvania belonged to Hungary so you can buy everywhere in Hungary and where Hungarians live, for example in Transylvania. Kürtöskalács is a really liked sweetness among Hungarians that you can buy on streets or markets. We bake them at home as well and eat them like a shell (snail) because it made rolled up and you can roll down when you are eating it. It is the best hot! 😊
You two are adorable! Many thanks for explaining that it is originaly from Transylvania! Many (tourists) think that it is from Prague. Greetings from a transylvanian! ;)
This looks yummy and utterly huge! Maybe you want to try rakott krumpli (lovely potatoes and cheese dish, which can be done in vegetarian version) or csoroge (fried folded dough)
hahaha you are supposed to rip off small pieces along the line where the pastry is rolled up, it makes it easier to share and you can leave some for later. Ngl the struggle was hilarious though! Thanks for the awesome video
I so enjoy watching your genuine affection for each other and I love your adventures. In this video I found it difficult to hear you because the music was loud. Or maybe I'm just getting old? Hello from North Carolina USA.
Nice video! I somehow suspected that Nanook would be able to eat kürtőskalács every day. :) I suggest you to try lecsó (it's like ratatouille, but without eggplant), which you can make with or without meat. Another suggestion would be aranygaluska, with vanilla pudding (I think Nanook would love it). Regarding the kürtőskalács, we normally eat it by peeling it apart (there is a cut on the side, which makes it possible to tear, like you would do with parenica cheese). Also, the ice-cream filled kürtőskalács has the shape of a cone, so the ice-cream does not fall out at the bottom. ;)
This was originally a wedding cake, no ice cream though. And the original is with plain sugar glaze or sugar plus walnut. No cocoa powder, coconut. Of course, you can enjoy it as you like it. And yes, the portion is a piece of not more than 10 cms. :)
Looks yummy guys! And then you said... filled with ice cream. I'm in! Enjoy your chimney cakes and have a great day! Diabetesman..lol. I guess if you ate them every day.
I am learning Hungarian so I might as well learn the word for the disease. cukorbetegség = "sugar sickness" - as old as Hungarian is, it explains it well!
America has a cheap version - the "creme horn" - It's pastry dough like what you see there, except it's plain - no nuts - and filled with sweet whipped cream. They aren't anywhere near that large or interesting lol. The Uuga Buuga Pókember/Deneverember rating was higher with Kürtőskalács. "ice cream" = "fagyi" I thought "jégkrém" was another word, but that seems to be more for "ice cream bars". I would try some pörkölt or halaszlé or gulyásleves.
@@Kanvereb - fagylalt was the word I was after. I knew "fagyi" was a diminutive version, but I had seen both words and wondered if there was a difference. Köszönöm szépen!
@@millenniumman75 fagyi typically made with water and some flavour (most of times powder) and usually formed in ball, take in a wafer cone. Gelato is rather milk and real fruits or other ingredients, like chocolate. Can coming in the same form like fagyi, but usually rather they use a machine and shape it in a twisted shape similar to the cone. And then coming both in plastic containers, like Carte D'Or or other brands. You would be surprised how many different flavour you can buy in Hungary! Much more than in the UK! And there are the same kind of ice lollies or, sticks, both milky or watery versions. I believe the most popular the Magnum and Cornetto...
Those are definitely not for one person (although I can eat it without any problems on my own 😁), we usually share it and you need to kinda tear it apart by the "seams". 😁
Last time I recommended kürtőskalács, and there you are eating it! I want to find out if that works again. I recommend ... hmmm ... kókos, those brown chocolaty balls covered in coconut flakes. Or paprikás csirke nokedlival - but that's not really a takeaway food, you would have to cook it yourself.
It is not for one people usually :D And we rip it apart with our hands. You two are so cute!
That... makes a lot of sence...
Then I've been doing it wrong through my entire life 😂 also, we never eat it with ice cream :)
@@kismargareta I have seen ice cream with a chimney cake cone several times around Balaton.
@@daviddioszegi5108 w ice cream is really only summer and even then only tourists get it
Nanook pronounced the word cat nicely in Hungarian.

With those two... EVERY day is an adventure and exploration! 👍
Romanians love Kurtoskolac 🍞 ♥️ I'm glad you liked it, guys! Actually I WOULD eat kurtoskolac every day, it's delicious.
You should try túrógombóc, arany galuska and paprikás krumpli. :)
You guys laughing at the end was so adorable! Those chimney cakes looked yummy. Thank you for sharing😊 Hello from California👋
Chimney cake looks like fun 😃 Nanooks giggling at the end was my favorite part ❤ Much love to you both across the miles.
Ice Cream!!!! That was not a surprise answer from Nanook! Thanks for sharing and how nice to save 2 for your parents!

tócsni céklával - "puddle with beets". Sounds interesting and full of vitamins. We can use all we can get during the pandemic!

Kürtöskalács is 7.5 of 10. Really? Nanook is the man. :)
sugary! I think when we think of yummy things from our travels we remember the treat foods the most.

suggestion for not necessarily meaty foods to try: lecsó, tojásos nokedli, vegetarian bableves, gombapaprikás with nokedli, vegetarian lencseleves
You have to try the floating islands dessert, in hungarian called madártej. It is an interesting dessert, I think you guys will like it. 😄

Le kell tekerni!

Mákos guba 😉😁
Hi guys! Have you had Hungarian Goulash?
You should try Túrógombóc...that is not meaty at all.
I thought you were going to explain how they make them...

5:25 XD
Can you try Hungarian fast food?
Yum! Those are big enough to need a chainsaw to cut them :-)
They should turn them into cave cakes.
Kirikou what u does for u have a nice hair?
Hey Kirikou, are you a vegetarian? If not it would be nice, If you could hungarian fish soup. Don't tell Nanook that it's fish. Do IT Afterwards.
Life is short : eat strange foods.
