thanks so much. i got my license but was having trouble with these yield signs in my town.
When turning right with a yield sign like this, would you have right-of-way or would a driver facing you who is turning left without a green arrow? Presumably the driver turning left would yield but the driver turning right has a yield sign
Came here for this same question. I’ve been driving for two decades, and still wonder about this one.
Hi, I am interested in a video on right-turning in these two situations: 1) turning into a lane without a parking lane to its right, versus 2) turning into a lane with a parking lane to its right. Specific questions include: when and how much to turn the wheel in each of the two situations. Thank you!!!!
Hey Bin! Thanks for your message!
1)So if you turn right and its a wide lane (no broken white lines) then you just need to find the yellow line and hug the yellow line. (There is just 1 lane in this case)
2)So if you turn right and there are lanes divided with broken white lines, as long as your car can fit into it, then you first need to go into the closest lane and then signal left, shoulder check left and change lanes when safe.
3)If you turn right and there is a bike lane, then you must turn to the left of the bike lane but I think you already know that.
In terms of how much to turn the wheel really depends and takes practice to know exactly how much. That is something you need to work with your driving instructor/supervisor to get better at. There isn't a set in stone number of rotations for a turn as they can all be different. Hope this helps!
@@SenSenDrivingSchool Thank you!!
So if the light is red you can still turn right without stopping only if it’s clear. Correct??
As you approach, if you are facing a red light then the cars from the left have a green and you should watch out for them and yield. If you approach and you face a green light then the cars coming from the left will face a red light. Also watch out for opposite cars turning left into the same street as you. Ultimately you are the one with the yield sign, make sure its clear of pedestrians and other vehicles before proceeding safely. Hope this helps!
