Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently claimed that the family of soldier Agniveer Ajay did not receive any compensation, a statement that was countered by the Indian Army and the Defence Minister. The soldier's family has since released documents showing that they have indeed received up to Rs 98 lakh in compensation. However, the Congress continues to maintain that the centre has not been transparent.

The idea of having a tenure of only four years is a bad idea. To train a civilian to become a full-fledged soldier will take at least one whole year. Here it’s only six months for Agniveer. The result will be an incomplete soldier. If you train a soldier for one year he should serve at least nine years as a soldier, for the Army to get the full returns. He/she should get a decent minimum pension after ten years of service in accordance with his rank then. By the by, the ranks of the so called other ranks need to change from sepoy, naik, havildar. Find some new names which will give self respect to the front line soldier who bears the brunt. Also abolish the helper (batman) duty for the soldiers.
It's very easy to find out . Opposition Leader raised this issue in Parliament. So the Minister in charge can convince the the truth to the Press conference. PM Modi also can call a Press Conference
