Good news report on "Battle Rap", but it DOES NOT show the other side of the lyrics and the real-life consequences behind them. There have been countless diss records that have gotten people beat up and even KILLED. I can appreciate battle rap, but, only when it stays on wax and not in the streets. If we're being honest, rap beefs and diss records often culminate in violence, whether that's 50 vs. Ja, Biggie vs. 2Pac, or some of the drill rappers coming up in cities like Chicago, Brooklyn, and London.
There’s literally thousands of face to face rap battles that happen every year …. “Countless” and “often” is not true it seldomly happens. Different gangs, neighborhoods, races all with little to no incident. It’s just highly publicized when it’s a famous people are involved.
You're talking street ish that goes on wax. We literally have Battle rap leagues with some of the worst scathing lyrics and afterwards they all shake hands and work on their next battle. Death in rap battles aren't common.
This is why they say don't listen to "experts." That guy choosing Taylor made freestyle made me forget anything else he said before that. Ridiculous take from an "expert."
Big up Charlie clips

Shout out Rob!
shout to you
Diss started before rap and we’ve been doing it to each other since the beginning of time!! It’s called playing the dozens and it’s sooo hood I can’t express just how hood it is!!
Thanks for using my piece from back in the 70's at 1:50. I would like to think that Style Writing culture and Jams later known as Hip-Hop are in their own lanes. Now with this being said these two subcultures cross paths quite a lot and for reasons.
Don't forget that writing started before the jams started happening but all the key players in these subcultures knew each other. This was from school, sports, their blocks/communities but more importantly from writing and seeing their handstyles in the streets.
Both of these subcultures started in the streets and have now touched a world wide audience. No matter where you go in the world it's influences can be seen from countless new generations of rappers, b-boys/girls and the expression of visual mathematics.

I didnt know Foxy beefed with Queen Latifah. What?? When?? Why? How?? Mann. Thats Crazy!
Big difference between a battle and a diss. Drake and Kendrick said a lot of fighting words.

Casual AKA Fake rap fan...that's what this is about dude.

You can't talk about rap battle history and not mention Kool Moe Dee
THANK YOU!!! I'm so tired of Kool Moe Dee getting overlooked when it comes to the history of Hip-Hop culture!
Great job - proud of Mike Muse. I hope that he pulls a Robin Roberts type of transition into the mainstream #Citizen #SwayInTheMorning
They should’ve interviewed SMACK
🗣️This was #Dope 😎 Glad they acknowledged SMACK
Thanks Mike Muse
EXACTLY!!! Thats why I Hate when these casuals and fake hip hop fans come in at the end and jump on the wave and make things nasty and trying to make every single line literal and serious. SMH 🤦♂️
Big Up the fam Riff 170 1:50
Thanks bro!
Drake team abc news.
This is corny. If rappers really wanna do that, they need to battle rap on the big stage fr not diss tracks, because now you got ABC (people not of the culture) covering it
Shante’s dis was some manufactured stuff whereas BDP vs The Juice Crew (practically just Shan! 😆) was some real beef!

I want artists to just make good songs and timeless music . Forget about this battle stuff. This isn’t a war . It’s entertainment and people battling each other performing rap should only be for entertaining. That’s it .
Artists batting each other is still apart of entertainment in hip hop.
It’s all about marketing and making money . Half of these battle rappers don’t go on to actually have rap careers . Cassidy paved a way for rappers that battle to get recognition and get to the bag but it’s not that entertaining honestly . Especially when Math Hoffa was running around punching people in the face during the battles .
Say you're not a real hip hop fan without saying you're not a real hip hop fan..😂
I’m sorry ABC news but this is cringeworthy. Hip Hop and its origins were not based on battling each other. Ask Chuck D . It was a social construct put in place to divide people . The overall message of Hip Hop is unity so please don’t misconstrue that part .

The fans get to hyped up and get involved in these beefs . Drakes house got shot up after the Kendrick diss and Rick Ross just got punched in the face in Vancouver . Then you make this video about how much these kids love battle rap . Look this is deeper than rap and something most of you wouldn’t understand if you’re not from the streets .
Drake’s house getting shot probably has to do with internal beef in Canada.
He’s had “issues” within his country years before any beef with heads from the USA.
Wtf is this lmao

You spelled diss wrong lmao
When are people going to acknowledge the connection between rap and gang violence
Yeah there is connection between rap and food shortage, climate change, hurricanes and war in Ukraine and Palestine.
Rap and gang which one was first? Like you need rap for gang violence that exists before the letters R.A.P.
Pathetic dunce you are
Gangsta Rap is the best! 😊
We do. That's called drill music. That's not #HipHop.
Nice try, Elroy.
