Overwatch jumped on the Black Panther bandwagon, now Orisa is one of those bald women soldiers, spear and everything. At first I embraced the new personality, she was built to counter Doomfist (quite literally), Doomfist is the main villain of Overwatch, the strongest character in the whole setting, so Orisa needs to be fiercer to clash with such monster... but then, it got played out fast, she is just another angry robot. And she kinda fails to be a "rival" to Doomfist... it's not like the rivalry between Widow and Ana for example, both characters have equal levels of charisma, they have similar skill, etc Doom remains stronger and more likeable than Orisa will ever be, this rivalry ship has sailed, Orisa is lost in a limbo, no personality, no relation with other characters, etc.. she just exists
I kinda feel like the most annoying thing about her OW2 kit is simply the fact that everything about it feels like it’s an anti-abilities counter. People don’t like sombra for being able to cancel ultimates or abilities without any counter play like Suzu? So why is all her abilities just that, it just feels obnoxious. I’m not sure if she’s even good but playing against her just feels so boring.
I wouldn't say there is no counter play, I mean sure, it does turn off your abilities, but it's not like you are immediately dead. You can fight for your life, you can use health packs, you can play ring around the rosie with her if there is something around that breaks line of sight. People just hate it when they have to use their brain to counter something. I play supports mainly, and 8 out of 10 times I manage to survive a Sombra, or even kill her in an 1v1
@@pwpqwq7648 yeah I feel like she is counter-able it’s just overall most of her abilities are basically anti abilities and most of the time it doesn’t really work. @omrizubary Kinda annoying that most tanks have another tank that can counter them, except for Orisa which u gotta target her supports, or play Orisa aswell.
The problem with Orisa now is that all her abilities are designed to deny the enemy rather than being proactive or aggressive. So she became the poster child of Counterwatch because all she does is shut down the enemy (tanks especially) and rarely ever makes plays or carries games, making her boring to play as or against.
My biggest problem with Orisa is that her entire 2nd kit is way more selfish than her original kit. Bongo is so good because it affects the ENTIRE team, same goes for shield. Spear is an amazing and fun ability, spin is fine as a defensive/offensive tool, and fortify is the cheapest ability I’ve ever seen for OW other than Suzu. But all of these abilities only affect Orisa unless you are shutting down an ult with spear. Even then, I would prefer if she was a more of a glass canon character in the tank roll.
Yeah they kind of changed her entire identity from a protective team hero to a selfish solo monster whose entire viability depends almost solely on her stats. I see what they were going for considering her late OW1 state but I don’t think this was the way
Old Orisa was one of my favorite character. She was an enabler tank, using the environment and her body to give the team an advantage. OW2 is just a more selfish game in general.
I believe her having a more selfish kit makes her more dependable in the OW2 way to play the game. There are plenty of other tanks that only have abilities that affect themselves instead of their team. And that's just bc of the tank role's job right now. Which is to stay alive and take space.
This is yet another issue of the Overwatch gameplay design, tank and healers are supposed to be more selfish, but Overwatch had this weird concept of off tanks, Roadhog, Winston and Hammond being completely selfish, etc.. now with just one tank, all of them are selfish. And to point fingers at the new golden boy of the genre, Marvel Rivals also struggles with this a little bit, Peni Parker is the only tank who have a defensive minded ultimate, all the others are super aggressive, Magneto instead of creating a big shield or a EMP, nope, he just throws a ball of junk at the enemies. This mentality that dps = fun is something extremely flawed imo
It's not just that she is hard to kill, it's that she has a way of denying practically everything, so she becomes a counter-pick to most characters by simply pressing 1 of 3 buttons.
I am one of the few people who actually loved playing OW1 Orisa. I had a little over 60 hours on her in all of OW1. Ever since they changed her entire kit for 5v5, I've stopped playing Orisa and only rarely choose Orisa.
Personally I never heavily played orisa in ow1, but as a main tank player she did still definitely have her place for me. Nowadays I do tbf play tank less but also play orisa less
Orisa was changed from an immovable object to an unstoppable force. I personally loved he original kit, being a sort of "commander" for the rest of the team to rally around and hold the line with. able to fight at a decent range compared to other tanks, while assisting with well placed barriers, the mini grav to temporarily kill enemy momentum, and the fortify and supercharger really let you pull a a pretty powerful last stand to try and hold off the enemy and buy your team enough time to make a comeback. Now Orisa is a tank who simply bulldozes enemies with a busted CC ability that can easily ruin someone's day and 2 defensive abilities that benefit her alone, makes her near impossible to kill when backed by a support making it braindead easy to just charge into the fight and steamroll an enemy or 2. Old Orisa's kit provided utility for the entire team to take advantage of, OW2 Orisa is extremely selfish kit that becomes ridiculously strong when other teammates dump any resources they have into her.
That's so true I feel like she can take so much punishment and still survive due to just how much armor she has Even fortify makes her basically an immovable object
@@Azdal she only melts her if she has charge A 0 charge zarya is pretty bad Sure if you are in low ranks people will shoot her pretty often But most people probably don't shoot her bubble unless they know they can kill her
@@BPVikingNot Really, Pretty sure i have seen more orisas then my entire life has seen up till then back then, People immediately switch if they die as tank, It's pretty horrible

What about javelin spin It will force you back so you can't exactly kill her backline if she keeps you away from them Also another one is what if the orisa also just falls back and protects their back line from you? What happens then
Hog oneshot is alright in 6v6 imo but 5v5 its just obnoxious since it kinda had the “pharah effect” where you average to play your whole comp around one character and change your play style 100% just to “respect the hook”. Its like walking into LoS of a widowmaker and getting obliterated, unfun and boring. They either need to remove hook and rework hog COMPLETELY and change his play identity to make him healthy or just go back to 6v6 ot allow a 6v6 option where he’s viable there but not in 5v5.
Orisa is my fav hero in OW. when she was reworked i was sad to lose her old kit but i was ok with that seeing how people were finally liking her. but few months after that she was back to getting bumped on, which means we lost old Orisa for nothing.
I think it boils down to one simple thing: interaction. The most satisfying thing about overwatch (and hero shooters in general) is the various interactions between different abilities and characters. For example, if roadhog hooks one of your supports, and you are playing Dva, you can place your defense matrix over them to stop them getting bursted. This is a good interaction, as it relies on the skill and awareness of the Dva to do this. The think that makes OW2 Orissa fundamentally flawed, is how her kit actively discourages interaction. Her Javelin spin blocks projectiles, and her fortify blocks all forms of cc, while slapping on a large amount of armor and damage reduction. Both of these abilities discourage the player from interacting with her, often meaning the player must wait until these abilities are on cooldown to shoot her. Her javelin throw and ult are no better: sure, you can black the javelin with a barrier, but who thinks thats fun or interactive? Orisa is a literal walking middle finger to fun, not interesting interactions between her and her teammates, or her and the enemy team. She's simply a bundle of stats and nothing more.
Amazing videos, just want to say that. I'm binging them now. Now: I was originally a tank main in OW1 because I was the flex queue queen. I ended up on tank about 75% of the time and loved Dva and Zarya, but when people asked for a shield I immediately would choose Orisa. She was such a teamwork-oriented hero on top of having just a really sweet personality. Halt allowed for team-based skill expression and some really fun combos, her barrier was so good if placed correctly and allowed protection for teammates AND herself if needed, fortify was a self-defense tool which was quite nice, and bongo (my beloved, I miss you so much) brought out her team-oriented gameplay even more. Needless to say, I was actually happy as hell when people asked for a shield tank because Orisa was genuinely a very interactive hero to play as. Fast forward to OW2, her kit is so selfish. There's nothing for her team, no coordination, just run in like a raid boss while rotating cooldowns and be unkillable. Her kit is fluid, but not fun. I just miss my sweet little puppy loving horsebot. 😢Give her back
As a casual player, Orisa was my first tank "main" in OW1. The second hero I ever got a golden gun for. Loved playing her. Was excited for the rework in OW2, and DID have fun playing the new her in seasons 1-2. However overtime, she just felt more and more bored to play, despite the micro buffs. Fast forward to today in season 12 and I NEVER play her, only ever switching to her if the enemy has a really good Doom or Rein. Again, I play the game casually, and until this video I could never really explain (in words) why she felt so unfun and boring compared to OW1. Thank you so much for this detailed coverage. W channel for sure!!
I mained Orisa back in 2017-18 before I stopped playing. I enjoyed her a lot, especially being able to hold a point in a corner. I've played her again recently and she still feels strong to me. I think I'm about as good as I used to be, if not even better now that I have a lot more wisdom under my belt.
They really should have left her kit alone from overwatch, and this is as an Orisa Main, loved her 1 and still love playing her. The only time she isn't my first pick, is on defense maps .
As someone who used the horse before she kept getting small buffs, the most annoying part is her area controll on top of just not killing her. She could cycle her cooldowns to have a while of not taking damage or taking less allowing the healers to heal other people turning team fights long. She had also had a good match up agaist most tanks even though zaria could melt her pushing her out of her team ment death with no mobility and only 2 bubbles.
I think her spear fits the lore since it counters doom and gives her versatility but the spinny spear deflect doesnt make sense to me in lore nor the new ult. Spinny spear doesnt really protect anyone but her and just boops and deals damage instead half the time, and the ult doesnt even work vs a character like doom since he still has access to hus mobility options unlike mauga cage and it even charges up his block. (I feel like adding an effect that stops movement abilities useage in the ult but reducing the charge up speed or the movement speed penalty would do well to compensate otherwise its just kinda a oneshot especially with a dmg boost of any kind.
Almost entirely unrelated and almost certainly a balancing nightmare but I wish they would bring back bongo in some form, maybe as an alt casting option for her the same way Sym had multiple ults
I’m really glad everyone seems to be enjoying the video as I put a lot of time into this one, so I really appreciate the support. I’ll try to answer as many comments as possible but it might take a while. Also I’m already working on the next video (it’s about a support this time) but my pc is having some slight issues so we’ll see how things go. Hopefully aiming to get it out in 2 weeks tho
She can be fun to play because she's the rare Tank where you can make plays while face tanking and not get completely run over when everyone else on the other team is shooting at you at once. She's a good defense Tank, especially on maps with minimal vertical play.
As an Orisa player, I miss her Bongo, omg! I started playing OW1 with Orisa out of all characters and her Bongo made me win so many damn games! And now? Her new Ult is so bad! You HAVE to combo it with another Ult to properly do lots of damage, its ridiculous.
For me it’s because her cooldown cycle is just crazy and doesn’t take much skill to pull off. There’s almost no downtime between spear, spin, and fortify. Low floor low ceiling character
The double shield nerfs were the worst. Blizzard had no idea how to stop team synergy between Orisa and Sigma... so we just got global shield nerfs. Which made her shield so weak it was near worthless without a second shield on the team. It honestly just made Double shield stronger in the lower ranks. Because a 600 hp shield on I think it was a 10 second CD was near worthless.
There is no reason she should have a cc and dmg reduction plus armor. I don’t understand why they would rework her just to make her exactly the same raid boss. Just replace fortify with her old Shield, that way she at least gets countered a little bit whilst holding her ground against Zar.
It’s still kind of confusing how they decided to keep fortify of all abilities from ow1. Hero identity aside, I think orisa could be in a much better spot if they just changed fortify into an entirely different ability
For me, I like playing Orisa because it feels good to keep a good mid range pressure with jav & left click, leading up shots from range to control space. Countering abilities with your own is nice in its own right, but knowing when to use your defensive cooldowns more offensively can make the difference between a reactive Orisa and an interactive one. Pinning people to a corner with jav spin is nice, so long as you don't get shredded by a bastion 2 seconds later (fortify will not save you lmao). Shame it's frustrating for other people to fight, but even playing against Orisa I don't have as much trouble. Playing around her cooldowns, knowing what she has up when, and capitalizing then is how you can counter her best.
I like her kit and I like playing as Orisa, I've never played with her in OW1 but I really like her in OW2. You can be both aggressive and more defensive as Orisa, both long and close range and that's what I like about her.
Here I am absolutely love playing her, she was my main in OW1 and the rework in OW2 she was even more fun to play, to me shes one of the most fun characters to play in the game lol
I’m glad you enjoy her. Obviously not EVERYONE hates Orisa, just most people do, but of course some will still love any hero. For example, I hate playing as Symmetra, but some people really enjoy it. At the end of the day it’s all subjective, and in reality this video’s main point was just a facade to tell the history of the hero
You are the bane of my existence. Orisa is as impossible to kill as she is to keep alive. But I'm a Mercy main. I'm still salty about how bad they've made her so OW in general has me jaded af lma
Maybe, it’s difficult to say but realistically the only problem with her balance wise was when you combined her shield with another one, so it might work
Bro I love Orisa. I wouldn't have 1100 hours on her if she wasn't fun. You guys literally say shes unkillable BUT then you dont use that opportunity to play with an extremely oppresive style, make crazy cheeky unexpected plays, solo flank to solo secure squishies- her incredible sustainablity and no damage fall off allows to do all those things. Instead you choose to play AFK style and then complain that the hero is boring. Such a skill issue take.
This is my opinion when people say support characters suck because half of what makes them good is being a threat but people think they just sit there and heal and then say "lifeweaver weak" "juno weak", that's because they're not being threatening and playing everyone like mercy.
I'd say her current problems are that her entire kit anti-CC, CC, and both. Which is no fun for anyone. That and her lack of damage fall-off means she can just target anyone without problem
The damage fall off thing is really weird because originally in Overwatch 2 they put it in so she had a more defined role, but then they just said nah and removed it.
7:38 it's kinda funny how sigma is so good that after they brought him into ov2 unlike most tanks which got a ton of buffs he actually got NERFED and he's still one of the best picks he's a long range hero that's insanely good at close range with his only true weakness being attacks that ignore his succ
I don't know how orisa is in OW2 since i stopped playing the game shortly after OW2 came out. But before in OW1, she was my main for years and i never really was bored of playing with her. And nothing would probably have changed in OW2 if i still played the game.
@@emma6648 most boring hero for absolutely everyone else to play against, Orisa herself is fun to play (imo). He’s complete bull crap and has Freelo matchups with almost every tank in the game. If he can shoot you, he can kill you.
OW1 Orisa is fun to play when her cooldowns are weaker but shorter in cooldown so she can do things more often. OW2 Orisa is simply a badly designed Tank, because now both of her sustain cooldowns are solely for self-sustain; every Tank should have some kind of team sustain ability. Secondly, OW2 Orisa has too much overall CC now to where it feels obnoxious to play against. Too much power is forced into Orisa's solo play making potential and she has lost the team play elements that OW1 Orisa had that made her more fun to play against individually.
I’m happy you think so. I’ve still got a long way to go in this whole UA-cam thing and a lot to learn but I’m trying my best to make these videos as good as I can
For me the problem with her current design is that all of her abilities are incredibly redundant, and kinda boring. Javelin Spin and Fortify do more or less the same thing and you just end up using whichever one is currently not on cool-down. I honestly can't think of a single other hero where this is the case. Not only that but she could do entirely without fortify and get by fine, making the ability even more unnecessary. This just means that whenever Orisa should logically die as all of her ressources should have realistically been forced, she can still fortify and survive. Honestly I've no idea why they kept fortify from Overwatch 1, out of the 3 abilities the used to have it was easily the most boring one. Just imagine how fun and impactful Orisa would be now if the kept Halt! instead of fortify. That and she would just feel so much more bearable. But no instead we have the ability where Orisa changes colour and becomes invincible because this is fun.
Yeah fortify is a really stupid ability in OW2. On OG orisa it made sense as it was her only self sustain, but yeah don’t know how this was the ability they kept
I completely agree!! I've thought for ages that Orisa wouldn't be seen as an unkillable cooldown cycler and would be enjoyed much more by casuals if she kept Halt! instead of Fortify.
Clicked on the video thinking that it had over 10k views because of the great editing, script and overall tone, but im surprised to see that you're still a "small" channel!! Awesome content, keep it up bro
Super happy you liked it that much and yes I will try to keep it up. These vids do take some time to make but next one should be ready in 2 weeks and I hope I can make that one good enough as well 🙂
I haven't been playing overwatch for a while, but I think fortify needs to have its stun immunity removed. It gives her that ability to run you down. She gives me brawl tank vibes. You counter a brawl tank by stunning them or knocking then back.
I'm one of like... two✌people who used to mane Orisa in overwatch 1, but now I can't stand even seeing her Centaur ass in a match. And that's on the now rare chance I play this game at all.
Orisa the tank who went from throw pick on launch, to ok with hog following no changes, to OP with sigmas release following no changes, to completely reworked in OW2 because shields bad. Such a great trajectory to see a hero get a complete 180 mostly because EVERYTHING around the hero is changing. I standby the fact that it was much more logical to just reimagine sigmas shield than it was to redesign ALL of orisa for OW2
I hate that Orisa is the only tank that requires you to take out her entire team before you can punish her. All it takes for other tanks is an ana nade, sleep, discord, or a tank buster on an off angle and they’re cooked.
Idk I love horse she’s so much fun but I think it would be better for the game if they got rid of fortify and gave her hault back she’d feel way less of an unkillable tank and more of a cc oriented tank
What's annoying about her is that the main solution for dealing with her is to COMPLETELY IGNORE HER and just straight up dive her supports. When you designed a hero in which the best way to counter play them is to ignore them, that's bad design.
i'm an Orisa main and i'm desperately trying to play ANYONE else because she's so boring. like, yeah, i can steam-roll, but once you get the cooldown cycling down it's mindless
She become another DD with insane survivability, playing quick matches mostly and if i do all my stuff good it's easy 1st place in damage on this horse
I actually think orisa is pretty fun, the javelin is a well designed ability, it’s a skill shot with a good value when it lands, her primary is relatively fine, her main issue is the fortify into javelin spin cycle, honestly I think switching her javelin spin or fortify for the halt she used to have would be goated
as a doom player i usually dont dont atribute being outplayed by anybody as getting "countered" by their hero - but BOY does Orisa come close to being a an actual Doom disabler; not even counter anymore - she legit turns off Doom abilities.
I think Zarya and Doom are infinitely worse to play against than Orisa, doom has way more cc and an ability that punishes you for your teammates mistakes, zarya has the same second issue and takes even less skill than Orisa imo (basically zero aim required and a harder counter swap given her existence is the counter). I don't deny Orisa is boring to play against but the counters to her are easier to pull off for mid-low ranks than Zarya (and Doom to some extent)
Yeah those heroes can also be pretty problematic at times. Obviously different people find different matchups more difficult, and I think the hate towards Orisa is affected by various factors, but some people will definitely agree with you here and you have a valid take.
At least Doom dies almost immediately if you either counterplay him or make a mistake. His whole kit is CC which might "feel" incredibly powerful, but even with perfectly cycling CDs and following up with ult and empowered, he still can't outright finish off Orisa or Mauga. Besides squishies, he can barely get any meaningful damage in, and if he misses one ability or gets hit by a counter ability, it sometimes immediately spells the end for him.
But it's not about immediately killing is it, that's the Orisa struggle. You're just held hostage. Doom I can't catch the bugger and he just flies in, my teammates give him empowered punch, he either kills squishies or just sends me flying, goes back out and in again and it's just miserable, can't block it either
"She was meet with a lot of joy upon release." What? I don't remember people liking her all that much. The general concensus seemed to be that she was a hodge podge of other heros and didn't really have her own identity. The receptiom was largley lukewarm and people were a bit upset it was her and not doomfist released
Should have explained it like I did in my sombra vid but apex was one of the first forms of competitive Overwatch before the Overwatch league was a thing
Part of the reason I hate orisa now is because she is way too easy to play but her ceiling is way too high. She has a basic boring loop and no skill is required yet you get EXTREME value outta her. Cooldowns don’t work against her, she is unkillable, she does does telegraph any of her moves, and she can do some serious damage by just being hyper aggressive. All of this combined is irritating to play against at best
And the most annoying part about Orisa is that she can relegate ALL OF HER ABILITIES ONLY TO JUST YOU THE TANK. This is also why people saying that if you want to counter Doomfist you play Orisa is so stupid. Orisa isn't a hard counter to Doomfist exclusively, so many Doomfist can easily fight against Orisa. The problem is that Orisa is a hard counter to every Tank in OW. Like I said, Orisa in OW2 loves to RELEGATE THEIR ABILITIES TO JUST YOU THE TANK. Doesn't matter if her spamming all her CDs onto you will make her lose the team fight, she just loves spamming all her CDs to you the Tank
I don't really mind Orissa only thing I ever disliked is just fortify giving her crit immunity IDC about literally anything else about her kit but if you could hit headshots you still weren't rewarded for them vs Orisa which is really dumb if she could be headshot I think that would make her way less annoying to go against since a good hitscan would Still be rewarded for landing headshots on her if she overextends
I feel like people hate on orisa a little less this season because of the multiple small buffs to dva that flew under the radar up until recently to where she’s seen everywhere. Oh yeah and doom where it’s either you get to play the game shooting at a wall with or you get a doom in your face cc’ing you while he still doesn’t die.
Stop hating and learn to play against... ;) I mean... every single hero is "hated" in OW, for a reason or another. Orisa has a really strong kit, but almost all heroes have strong kit, regarding the situation
Even if I agree, to me, Orisa is the most oppressiv tank I can face ; but actually, a good Reinhardt too, a good Winston also, a good Doomfist, well... it is the definition of opression... 😆
You’re not wrong tbh. But I rather think it’s someone’s experience against a player who isn’t dominant than one who is which makes them hate certain heroes more than others. Of course not because getting stomped is more fun, but because that isn’t the regular experience. Anyone can dominate on any hero, and you can lose to any hero, and you can feel bad losing to them in that moment. But if you also hate playing against someone who is doing equally as well as you or worse, just because of the hero, then that’s the problem. It’s a similar situation with Sombra. Many people are able to acknowledge that she’s weak when she is, but they still don’t enjoy playing against her, despite having a good chance of victory
Yeah, although that wouldn’t necessarily fix things. If you replaced javelin many of her problems would still exist, but if you got rid of one of the other two she could end up dying too easily instead. It’s a difficult issue
9:50 I remember this, the infamous "paper shields" nerf. And this nerf was relatively fast compared to the previous nonsense (Brigitte being broken for 2+ years is just insane, the game died right there). It partially solved the double shield issue and Overwatch became +- stable ever since. I do believe the 6v6 test should roll back all the characters to their late 2022 state, block out all the new characters and maps, reading them bit by bit. Characters like Rammatra, Kiriko, Illari, Lifeweaver, "tank" Doomfist, etc.. they have to be reworked entirely, lots of work for a dev team know to be lazy and slow to react (in other words, they will consider the test a "failure", people will abandon Overwatch in favor of Marvel Rivals, maintenance mode in mid 2025 to early 2026 at best)
For me i hate that she cannot be punished like most tanks will admit at times its on me but there are times where she can just push past me and kill my team while me and my team desperately try to kill her and it just sucks and while i could kill off her team there's also the big risk my team will die by her and I won't be there to stop her
Saddest part is how they turned her from a friendly traffic assistant to a barbarian. Be careful when crossing the street.
Yes
They increased her weight without changing the engine

And to point fingers at the new golden boy of the genre, Marvel Rivals also struggles with this a little bit, Peni Parker is the only tank who have a defensive minded ultimate, all the others are super aggressive, Magneto instead of creating a big shield or a EMP, nope, he just throws a ball of junk at the enemies. This mentality that dps = fun is something extremely flawed imo
Everyone hates Orisa because she is unkillable, but after the tank buffs, everyone became unkillable
Yeah kinda
It's not just that she is hard to kill, it's that she has a way of denying practically everything, so she becomes a counter-pick to most characters by simply pressing 1 of 3 buttons.
Toilet Paper 5 player spotted
Three ccs are obviously bullshit
Orissa shield really made it feel like you were shaping the battlefield and changing the map to your benefit
Yeah, even though the play style was more slow paced it still somehow felt more impactful
Double shield was Sigma's fault anyway
I am one of the few people who actually loved playing OW1 Orisa. I had a little over 60 hours on her in all of OW1. Ever since they changed her entire kit for 5v5, I've stopped playing Orisa and only rarely choose Orisa.
Personally I never heavily played orisa in ow1, but as a main tank player she did still definitely have her place for me. Nowadays I do tbf play tank less but also play orisa less
I miss halt😢
60 hours is absolutely nothing in this game
Yeah this is true
She’s like shooting a damn wall and you can’t fight a wall
Yeah, that’s why the way to beat her is to usually just ignore her. But that isn’t particularly fun either
@@BPVikingnor is it exactly effective as the orisa could just help their backline kill you instead
That's so true
I feel like she can take so much punishment and still survive due to just how much armor she has
Even fortify makes her basically an immovable object
Zarya melts orisa and semi invalidates her as a character…
@@Azdal she only melts her if she has charge
A 0 charge zarya is pretty bad
Sure if you are in low ranks people will shoot her pretty often
But most people probably don't shoot her bubble unless they know they can kill her

Fair but wasn’t orisa pretty bad that season?
@@BPVikingNot Really, Pretty sure i have seen more orisas then my entire life has seen up till then back then, People immediately switch if they die as tank, It's pretty horrible
Fair enough, I don’t remember entirely tbf. Either way I get what you mean
Orisa is literally "CC for thee but none for me!"
Pretty much
I said it once and I'll say it again: its easier to complain about Orisa when you keep shooting her gold than ignoring her and kill her backline
Very true
This
I literally try to do this as tank and the orisa peels for her team then i cant do shit
@@Invisibleboy999 you as a tank need to consider what your team is doing ? If you team isnt set up to attack the backline with you are probably not goin to be able to do much . So technically you can attck the backline but you have to be willing to pull out as soon as it gets hot .
What about javelin spin
It will force you back so you can't exactly kill her backline if she keeps you away from them
Also another one is what if the orisa also just falls back and protects their back line from you? What happens then
AND THEY'VE BUFFED HER AGAIN!!!
Yeah lol

Orisa: no fun is allowed
The OW2 balancing team is just insane by now
Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result
HOOO BOY SHE GOT HALF OF A MASSIVE NERF REVERTED. BETTER WATCH OUT.
@thatboredaroace your overreacting in my view, now she ain't moving like a snail no more
It’s so boring to fight a character whose whole identity is based around denying and living forever. I hate her so much Orisa meta was my hell
Yeah her core design now is just weird
1:07 A lot of people need to know when she came out she was the first tank who could effectively hold a choke point from long range.
That’s true
Basically its overloaded design that reworked for ow2 is meant to bully an entire tank rooster, which means punishment for trying to have fun
Yeah new orisa is kind of designed just to keep other tanks in check but then that becomes miserable for the other tanks who she keeps ‘in check’
I feel sinful for missing hogs one shot
And maybe you should
But maybe you shouldn’t.
You do you
Hog oneshot is alright in 6v6 imo but 5v5 its just obnoxious since it kinda had the “pharah effect” where you average to play your whole comp around one character and change your play style 100% just to “respect the hook”.
New Orisa is many times better than old Orisa lmao
Both orisas are shitty and boring
Facts haters going to hate
Yeah this is pretty accurate
every dps character are just walking stats XD
Tanks were supposed to be super tanks, I would argue the other tanks were undertuned
I’m glad you liked it
I have approximately 300 hours played on Overwatch 2, and almost 200 hours were spent playing Orisa lol
Hey you do you, if you like her that’s fine
I mained Orisa back in 2017-18 before I stopped playing. I enjoyed her a lot, especially being able to hold a point in a corner. I've played her again recently and she still feels strong to me. I think I'm about as good as I used to be, if not even better now that I have a lot more wisdom under my belt.
Nice
They really should have left her kit alone from overwatch, and this is as an Orisa Main, loved her 1 and still love playing her. The only time she isn't my first pick, is on defense maps .
Good job putting this video together. Was cool to see footage from older versions of Overwatch.
Glad you liked it
As someone who used the horse before she kept getting small buffs, the most annoying part is her area controll on top of just not killing her. She could cycle her cooldowns to have a while of not taking damage or taking less allowing the healers to heal other people turning team fights long. She had also had a good match up agaist most tanks even though zaria could melt her pushing her out of her team ment death with no mobility and only 2 bubbles.
I like playing her occasionally, i think shes very true to her lore in her gameplay
I can find her fun once in a while, just not someone I play often
Who cares about lore? The gameplay is what really matters…
@@ghost_ship_supreme oh teacher, teacher! I do!!
I think orisa is one of those ol’ reliable tanks that I can fall back on when my mains aren’t working
(I feel like adding an effect that stops movement abilities useage in the ult but reducing the charge up speed or the movement speed penalty would do well to compensate otherwise its just kinda a oneshot especially with a dmg boost of any kind.
kinda weird to describe "javelin is a big spear you throw at the enemies" instead of saying..a javelin you throw at the enemies...
Nah that’s ridiculous why would I ever call javelin a javelin 👀
"Just ignore her"
As she barrels towards you like a freight train......
I miss playing OW1 Orisa
I loved playinf old orisa (I stopped before sigma release and was realy realy bad) but the support aspect of the hero was so appealing to me
yeah that's valid
Good lord, after getting used to Ow2's look, watching Ow1 footage feels like reading hieroglyphics
Almost entirely unrelated and almost certainly a balancing nightmare but I wish they would bring back bongo in some form, maybe as an alt casting option for her the same way Sym had multiple ults
Would be interesting
I’m really glad everyone seems to be enjoying the video as I put a lot of time into this one, so I really appreciate the support. I’ll try to answer as many comments as possible but it might take a while. Also I’m already working on the next video (it’s about a support this time) but my pc is having some slight issues so we’ll see how things go. Hopefully aiming to get it out in 2 weeks tho
#revertorisa
She can be fun to play because she's the rare Tank where you can make plays while face tanking and not get completely run over when everyone else on the other team is shooting at you at once. She's a good defense Tank, especially on maps with minimal vertical play.
As an Orisa player, I miss her Bongo, omg! I started playing OW1 with Orisa out of all characters and her Bongo made me win so many damn games! And now? Her new Ult is so bad! You HAVE to combo it with another Ult to properly do lots of damage, its ridiculous.
Yeah her new ult is rough, bongo was much better
Yeah it's funny how much her new ult has synergy with so many other tank ults, but alas, there are no longer two tanks
2:38 yes I was there when sombra came out and they was hyped for orisa… well I still like them both, tho I would prefer their initial kit
Fair enough
For me it’s because her cooldown cycle is just crazy and doesn’t take much skill to pull off. There’s almost no downtime between spear, spin, and fortify. Low floor low ceiling character
I like Orisa because at least she doesn't jump on me with 700+ health and insta kill me
Tbf she is slightly less annoying for non tank players
For the past week I’ve been seeing Orisa EVERYWHERE, like I have not went one comp game without seeing her and it’s so frustrating.
Watching this as an orisa player, I see this as an absolute win
W
@@BPVikingshe can get easily bullied because of size and head hitbox
@@BPViking Is it wrong that I the spin to become a resource meter like Defense matrix 😅
More fun to watch than soldier ngl
Fair enough. Soldier is just running and then point and click adventure (no hate to soldier players)
Great hero to learn how to aim I would say :)
This is such a great video very informative, your an amazing underrated UA-camr
That means a lot, thanks
I used to main Orisa a lot back in ow1 and I still miss her halt ability to this day
I like her kit and I like playing as Orisa, I've never played with her in OW1 but I really like her in OW2.
Sometimes I think could her old kit work now since there aren’t two tanks and the double shield meta is gone
I miss her old ult, hope to see it again on a new champ (probably a support)
this video is very well made and needs more views
Glad you enjoyed
7:38 it's kinda funny how sigma is so good that after they brought him into ov2 unlike most tanks which got a ton of buffs he actually got NERFED and he's still one of the best picks he's a long range hero that's insanely good at close range with his only true weakness being attacks that ignore his succ
I love playing Orisa but I understand she is frustrating to play against, although she is fun to play
Fair enough
I don't know how orisa is in OW2 since i stopped playing the game shortly after OW2 came out. But before in OW1, she was my main for years and i never really was bored of playing with her. And nothing would probably have changed in OW2 if i still played the game.
same reason people hate facing muaga sombra and pharah, the counter play needed is often times not fun and fully requires character swaps
“Overwatch’s most boring hero” when Mauga is RIGHT THERE
He’s actually kind of fun doe, fun ultimate fun shift ability
She’s considered the most boring hero throughout history, not necessarily only right now
@@emma6648 most boring hero for absolutely everyone else to play against, Orisa herself is fun to play (imo). He’s complete bull crap and has Freelo matchups with almost every tank in the game. If he can shoot you, he can kill you.
Having reworked orisa for 2 years now I can confidently say that I miss old orisa. The old orisa at least felt killable and had some counter play
Agreed
Underrated Channel
I’m happy you think so. I’ve still got a long way to go in this whole UA-cam thing and a lot to learn but I’m trying my best to make these videos as good as I can
Remember when ow2 orisa was considered stupid fun what happend
I do remember 😢
She is the only character that if it was deleted from the game I wouldn't miss her
I'm one of like... two✌people who used to mane Orisa in overwatch 1, but now I can't stand even seeing her Centaur ass in a match. And that's on the now rare chance I play this game at all.
I like shredding Orisas as Bastion but you obviously need to time your turret mode. As expected from Bastion a tank buster
I standby the fact that it was much more logical to just reimagine sigmas shield than it was to redesign ALL of orisa for OW2
plus Orisa Sigma isn't even possible now anyways
I like playing Orisa because her kit feels very tuned for the tank role and purpose of making/denying space and controlling the tempo of a fight.
Fair enough
She really does feel like the most "tanky" of the tanks,
She's this big unmovable hunk of metal
tanks having shields should be as common as supports providing heals.
as a doom player i usually dont dont atribute being outplayed by anybody as getting "countered" by their hero - but BOY does Orisa come close to being a an actual Doom disabler; not even counter anymore - she legit turns off Doom abilities.
"She was meet with a lot of joy upon release."
What? I don't remember people liking her all that much. The general concensus seemed to be that she was a hodge podge of other heros and didn't really have her own identity. The receptiom was largley lukewarm and people were a bit upset it was her and not doomfist released
The best strategy with orisa is to walk forward and never stop shooting. A plan so full proof every orisa player does it.
3:44 huh? Wrong game dude
All of this combined is irritating to play against at best
i dunno what yall talking about, orisa is the only tank i play besides hog, i like her
To each their own. A lot of people hate Orisa, but that doesn’t mean everyone does, that’s simply the nature of the thing.
Yeah yeah, i also see her a lot when i play on EU servers, i guess that makes a difference :D
@@AnotherSkeletoryou a no brain lol
Orissa is my panick button hero. I just absolutely bully just about anybody with her. She just feels great to play
This shit with only one ability disables whole Junker Queen and that's a problem, you literally can't heal from this cow
Orisa is a pretty hard counter to multiple tanks, junker queen included
Yeah orisa hate has lessened as she is less oppressive right now. Although if she gets another buff or two there could be problems
orisa has been alright for the past weeks, but DVA on the otherhand
I haven’t been playing much Overwatch recently except for recording footage tbh but yeah I’ve heard dva is pretty strong rn
wasnt even gonna click but I hate the horse so I had to like it quick lol :3
lol fair play I appreciate it
Stop hating and learn to play against... ;)
I mean... every single hero is "hated" in OW, for a reason or another.

You can hate and know how to play against. I rarely lose to Orisa. It doesn't mean I like fighting or seeing that dumb horse.
Brig video next. Good work on this in
Thanks and yeah you guessed it brig video is next
Id drop one of her current abilities for her old "halt" ability.
Yeah, although that wouldn’t necessarily fix things. If you replaced javelin many of her problems would still exist, but if you got rid of one of the other two she could end up dying too easily instead. It’s a difficult issue
Old orisa was less annoying and more unique. Now she is just a spam wall.
I too preferred old Orisa
The horse was my first character i picked. There's a special connection. I don't care what ppl say
For me i hate that she cannot be punished like most tanks will admit at times its on me but there are times where she can just push past me and kill my team while me and my team desperately try to kill her and it just sucks and while i could kill off her team there's also the big risk my team will die by her and I won't be there to stop her
I really miss halt it was so fun to use man
