When you have a supportive family (and a wife like Tina who is obviously behind you 100%) you will never go wrong.
In 20 years you won’t remember what project you stayed late to work on in the office, but you will remember how you took the kids to the movies, the beach, the theme parks etc….

I walked around with my resignation letter in my pocket for weeks. I ended up chickening out and it took the pandemic to push me to do this full time. It’s rough at times, but I love it so much. I wish you the best Dave, no doubt you’ll be successful.

I almost clicked off at the 35 minute mark but hearing at the end of the video that you still need more to make money to cover your bills was all I needed to hear.
That slight pressure will put you in overdrive and you’ll easily 2x your business!
However, you may find yourself working just as many hours as before.

WOW! Congrats Dave on making this decision for you and your family. I think you being emotional is 100% normal as leaving a stable thing for an unknown is a difficult decision. You got this! We all have your back. I know we all joke about you being a horrible reseller but that's all it is - jokes. You do an incredible job! You have an amazing family and they are supportive as well! Congrats! We look forward to watching you soar!

Dave! OMG! That's awesome. You've got 20,000 subscribers behind you, moms, dads, husbands, wives - we got you! I also think it shows that you made the right choice moving to Florida because now you have lots of family around. This quote is out of one of my favorite poems by Robert Frost and I always go back to it - "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." I can't wait to keep watching and see where your journey takes you!

Hi, I just found your channel from BOLO Buddies. The first two minutes of this video hit hard with me. I don’t currently have a UA-cam channel but have been considering it. I started reselling about 5 years ago and have yet to be able to fully jump in. I’ve been seriously thinking of leaving teaching to commit to reselling and have the ability to spend more time with my young girls.

Dave- Congrats my friend! I have been reselling on eBay full time for 7 years and supporting my family as the main income source, and it has been ultimately incredibly rewarding. I still work 60+ hours a week, but to me in control of your own destiny from a mental standpoint really goes a long way (at least for me). Nothing is ever easy but given your dogged determination and work ethic, you got this!

Proud of you Dave! Just a note from a Retired Autoworker 32 yrs: when you go through a major change in your life everyone around you will too. No doubt you will do REALLY WELL!! Give your family & yourselves at least 8 months to a year to level out. Some people say 6 months. But it takes longer for most. You will not regret. I was so scared to go full time eBay I ended up getting a job at USPS FOR 4 year 😢 I hated it. Now I’m full time reselling & instruct eBay classes once a week at local library. 2+ years full time

Due to your age & energy level, now is the time for change. Your self determination & passion will drive your life's direction. You're smart, flexible, thorough & logical about trouble shooting your business model & improving it. It's impressive. You're personally invested in a challenge that you love!

I’m lucky enough to be near the very end of my full time career, and fully expect to continue to sell items on eBay, and possibly Marketplace, or Whatnot, but no way could I ever have even considered giving up my career with a good salary, great pension, excellent benefits, and a 401k, for online selling. Never had the time to go garage-sale-ing, or stopping by estate sales, so I certainly don’t do it to the degree that you, and other UA-camrs do, with it being more of a supplemental income pastime. Sales, for me, are too sporadic, and unreliable for providing enough for myself, and my family. I wish you and your family all the luck in the world. Keep your chin up, and continue to pursue your passion. Gotta add, definitely would not have to self-insure. Hope you can find something reasonable.

    * * Please check with the person who handles insurance at the human resources office at your last job. Most of the time your insurance benefits do not expire until 30 or 60 days after your last day of employment. You might want to check into Cobra benefits, to extend your insurance benefits with the company. The cost is normally high but, it could be cheaper than you getting insurance elsewhere on your own. It is definitely worth checking into.
Wishing you the best of success in this new chapter of your life.

You are very watchable, and I enjoy your honesty. You are young and got this!! Stay honest. Be real. Your tears make me know I have a different difficult decision. I had a friend lose her husband unexpectedly this week. We never, ever know. God bless and keep it family friendly!! ❤

Congratulations. I watch your videos all the time and I am literally exhausted for you sometimes. It's great you can slow down and enjoy your family and job. Good Luck with all you do. I'm sure great things are coming your way.

When I quit my job I was a manager of a department and factory. I was asked over and over and over by my manager to not quit yet or give them at least the rest of the summer and this was June at that time. And I almost said yes and man am I glad that I didn't. It's just like you I was checked out basically the day I told them I wanted to quit. It's really hard to stay motivated for somewhere you don't want to be. You deserve to move on and not let that baggage follow you. Don't let them make you feel guilty like they did me. I quit that job for my own mental health And I didn't have it in me to stay any longer. And guess what.. that business is still there still moving on without me.

Good luck in your change - just take into consideration the cost of medical insurance which can be considerable - also no matching of retirement funds and as self employed have to pay all 15.4% Medicare and social security tax

I truly don't know how you worked full time, have multiple UA-cam channesl and a reseller business and found time for your sweet family and maintained your sanity-kudos to you for choosing you! I hope to retire in a year after 35 years in the medical field and plan to reinstate my Ebay business -all crossables crossed! Congratulations Dave-you will rock it!

Congratulations. It is scary to start new but you can do it. There’s always side hustles to make extra if you need to - my friend drives Uber & Lyft when he needs some extra bucks - sets his own time, pick & choses the rides he wants etc. don’t be surprised if your selling increases because you don’t have the added distraction of the day job. Anyway can’t wait to follow your journey

Congratulations. You have proven that reselling can be a full-time job. With my regular 9 to 5 job I have the option to go on call/ part-time and I did do that to focus more on eBay. It helps to have a supportive spouse. But I get it still scary because we all need money. Now though that I have been able to focus a lot more time on reselling almost all my metrics on eBay are in the green and going up. And now I've been able to start working on UA-cam videos again. Thank you Dave for the inspiration/ information you provide and all your videos.

Congratulations to you! So I did this four years ago! And they also replaced me with three people lol. I really needed to watch this to remind myself why I left in the first place! Sometimes it seems it would be so much simpler to just take a job but I would be miserable. My daughter is now 7 and I took her skating today for the first time. I get to spend summers with her now which is priceless. So thank you for this documentary! I really needed the reminder. And I love how supportive your wife is! It's gonna be so good for you!'
