I understand the back issue. I don’t have problems doing dishes but working with my arms out in front of me is what causes the pain. More important to set up your work space for your comfort not ours. 🛁🧼🛀
That makes a lot of sense. I do alright on my soaping videos and work in general. There is just something about the camera angle. I am going to have to play with it more to create something better.

It really depends on how big the release is. Often times I will average 30 or so orders a day. Sometimes it will only be for a few days and other times it will be for 10 days.
I thought the first pack and chat was great I really don't know what could be complained about. I would prefer you to be comfortable and easy on your back so that we get them regularly.
Hey Holly! I think the reason for the comments about the angle of the camera in Part 1 was because it was impossible to see what was happening in the box. Part of the fun of the pack and chats is watching you trying finagle everything so that it all fits perfectly in the box. That's half the fun of the pack and chats...lol. I have no idea if you can change the angle of the camera at your regular packing station, so I don't want to suggest you do that if it's not possible. Anyway, I haven't ordered for a while because I've switched to tallow soaps, but I'm missing some of my favorites from your store, so I may just have to order some of the holiday soaps in your next release. I feel like my orders from you have not had too much shred. I've had that issue with something before. You are not using a box bigger than necessary to use extra packaging and thus charging more on shipping. The people saying something must not have ordered from you before. I do normally prefer light/clean scents. However I have a very deep rhubarb obsession and the Cranberry Rhubarb wax melt is just lovely. I wouldn't have ever tried the Mandarin Cranberry but it is also lovely. You have me rethinking my preferences now.
Regarding your back, get yourself a mat. My daughter bought me one to put in front of my soaping cart (rolling kitchen island) and it is so nice. And they are fairly inexpensive on Amazon.
Hi Holly! Thanks for your wonderful videos. I am in need of help. I consider myself a beginner soapmaker and it seems I can never get a very fluid soap (cold process) even when I work my oils and lye at low temperature in a room with 70F. I try not to blend too much but by the time I add color and fragrance, the trace of my soap become very heavy, kind of a whip cream. What am I doing wrong? I would appreciate any comment and suggestion you can provide. Thanks!
I have just started making soap this year and noticed that the UA-camrs stick blend their soap batter a lot more than what I can get away with. Maybe that is because they work with larger quantities. I would try it without a stick blender (just mixing with whisk and spatula) or extremely minimal use of stick blender(mix with stick blender off and just do a couple of 1 sec pulses with it on). It will take a lot longer to come together but will stay fluid alot longer. Look out for when your soap is emulsified and don't stick blend further after that. Mix in your fragrance and colour with spatula. It could also be your fragrance oils or (less likely but still possible)colourants that are making it so thick.
Hello Silvia! Thank you! Clara did make some good points. Is your batch more fluid if you add more water? What water amount do you use? Also, it can be your recipe too if your recipe has more hard oils. Soaping too cool could cause them to solidify. I have had to learn to really back off of the stick blending. My stick blender is just right on the edge of not being powerful enough so I would stick blend a lot. This summer I started using a large spatula to move it around better and I have really reduced how much I stick blend the batch. It could be your stick blender is super powerful for the batch size you are working with.
@@silviap4435 great! Remember it will take a while to reach emulsion that way. It works best to stir it, leave it for a few minutes then stir again. If it's not reached emulsion and you pour it into your mould then a layer of oil will form on top and the soap won't set up. This happened to me once so I just stuck my stuck blender inside the mould and blended a bit till it no longer separated. There are some good videos on UA-cam about making soap without stick blender and also spotting emulsion. I really hope this helps! Drop an update here afterwards 🙂

Ppl like to make comments and most have never packed an order before and do t have to worry about the expense of broken items and really pissed off customers because with a small business once ur sold out ur out. Unless they are the person who is receiving that package then there opinion is simply that there option. However for those ppl give them the opportunity to put there money where there mouth is and let them spend there hard earned money at ur shop and let them message u waving u from all responsible for the condition that they will receive there package and tell them to request either minimal shred or 0 amount of shred and girl I promise u this it won’t happen. I would love to see how many ppl actually say to u hold all shed and padding, drop $150.00 at ur shop and smile when there stuff is beat to hell when they get it. And when they send u a complaint and a picture u can post that at the beginning of all ur pack n chat’s and say “ This is why we use shred!” Either way problem solved. I send out glass most of my stuff is in dainty glass bottles. N I had one person complain about my shred. N I said “ so ur complaining that u got ur package it perfect care and all in one piece?” And she said we’ll I’m just suggesting to use something other then bubble wrap. And suggested I used the paper like u use. That does not work for glass bottles. So I said “ ok so I can do that for a handling fee for the more expensive packaging even though everything I use is recyclable. And I’ll save this complaint where u stated u don’t want ur glass properly packed and so u forfeit the right to complain when u insisted on still ordering glass and u don’t want to receive it unbroken. So u wave that right then.” And her whole attitude changed especially when I told her the post office won’t cover it under insurance because it’s not going to be packed properly. And she went from really nasty to. Oh I wasn’t trying to be rude I was just wondering if u thought about different packaging materials. The thing that gets me is a customer would never call Amazon and say I want to talk to the CEO about packaging. Lol or Burlington or any big store like that. I think it’s great that we can respond ourselves as a small business but I think sometimes ppl feel like they know u cause they watch ur videos and I think to much access is a bad thing in that regard. And ppl cross the line to often. Be true to ur self because u didn’t get were u are caving to what others say. U can’t make everyone happy u need to do what makes u happy and run ur business how u see fit. And if it’s that bothersome to ppl then they do have the option of not watching and moving on to the next video. But don’t let ppl dictate to u what u are and are not going to do. Luv ur videos can’t wait for the next one. Shred it up lol
