Stanton should be in the lineup. The only change would be putting Jazz ahead of Stanton. This allows Jazz to be the table setter and allows him to take an extra base or steal a base. Stanton hits well in post season baseball

Jason, Great channel. The Yankees need the fire and grit of the Jeter Yankees and the Yankees of my childhood in 1977 and 1978. They have none of that in the post season yet! I see no urgency in this team. These yankees are playing like it's opening day first games or something. Somebody needs to light a fire under these guys and get them moving again or they will exit this post season quietly....
Plus, the Yankees and Aaron Boone will never bench Judge their captain for Stanton. Even when Lou Gehrig the yankee captain at the time was sick their manager Joe McCarthy did not take him out of any games. Gehrig benched himself! Go Yankees

The need to back to what made them successful in the 90s. Small ball. That will help move the runners and can produce runs and spark the bats. Boone needs to manage that way

Perhaps it is better for the Yankees to learn to win when the big bats are slumping. Winning the world series is a corporate accomplishment. No team wins without dealing with the ups and downs. We'll be WS champs only if everyone rises to the occasion.
You will learn in time that Dominguez is a left handed hitter just like Oswaldo, not the second coming….

Stanton costs you more runs running the bases than he helps with any homeruns..He cant score from 1st on a double with 2 outs, he cant score from 2nd on a hit and he cant beat a ball to 1st on any soft hit ball so what does Stanton do? Well you sit around forever waiting for that one homerun but he's cost you multiple runs already on the bases..So my question to you would be why not Dominguez over Stanton
JUDGE HITS THE BALL JUST AS HARD AS STANTON, HE HAS AS MANY DOUBLE PLAYS AS STANTON DOES TOO WHEN HE HITS IT ON THE GROUND. DOMINGUEZ ISN'T PROVEN YET PERIOD. STANTON IS THERE TO HIT, MORE THAN RUN. HE HITS MORE THAN DOMINGUEZ.

Also this is not the time to experiment with a guy like Dominguez. He hasn’t exactly torn the cover off the ball and Stanton and Judge hit the ball harder than all.

First and foremost... Speed is not the be-all end-all.. it's nice.. but Smarts is better. When I played in my final few years.. Speed is not high on my list... but we had 3 guys loaded with it.. yet my stolen base % was way better than them.. I had more total but I never was caught.. they were caught about half the time. I've seen that we some guys in the majors.. Gardy had all kinds of speed... but he was not a base stealer... so G won't score from first.. big deal... if he's smart.. he'll stop at third and not get thrown out. Too many put too much emphasis on it... it's nice.. but not required. I'd rather have G's bat than the martians speed. Speed don't help for crap if you don't get on base. I've seen so many speedy guys wash out because they had speed... but couldn't get on base to save a life... I've seen a ton of guys go into the hall who run horrid (Derek Jeter in his final years) but were constantly only base.
Jason, Stanton, Dominguez, Judge. It doesnt matter who plays if the rest of the lineup cannot consistantly advance runners (productive outs) and improve situational hitting. The Yankees are way to dependant on home runs and have been for a lot of years. If we can only score via the longball, the team will necer go very far in the post-season. Good pitching always beats good hitting.
The Yankee win and lose as a team. Starters gotta pitch, relievers have to hold and hitters gotta score runs. Judge, Stanton nor Soto can carry this team. It requires a team effort.
Exactly. This is why I’d deploy all of the roster including Grisham and Ellis and Dominguez. One player swap doesn’t solve a multi player issue…we need to use that contact and speed as well….

Dominguez is not playing because he has a lot to be desired as an outfielder. He needs another full season at triple A to work on his fielding and hitting
Stanton runs like a statue and swings very hard . He kills more flying insects lots more than he makes contact with the baseball .
Baseball is hard to predict. Best case scenario the answer to the question is a toss up. This is just for fun. You say bench Stanton and Dominguez gives you three hits… or three outs. Same if you keep Stanton… he can give you two Homers or three K’s. I won’t blame Boone for anything he decides. The players play and Boone doesn’t control performance. But… to say bench Aaron Judge would be the craziest idea in the history of MLB.
Keeping Dominguez on bench when we can’t score is also insane. Saving 99 as late inning PH sounds right. But I also think we are rearranging deck chairs on Titanic. Hot teams win in October, cold teams go home. Yanks are ice cold.
Jason, as i mentioned on your post game stream. They will need a better of defense in KC, Soto will struggle much more than Judge in right field. I would dh Soto ,play Grisham to start, in cf and Verdugo in lf. As the game goes along, you can make changes as needed. And Judge plays rf. Judge CANT SIT. To bad he cant play 1b, that would solve alot of concerns. IMO.

Berti and Ellis are faster than Dominguez. And Dominguez bat is not better than Stanton’s. Why is the solution to judge not hitting for so many folks to replace Stanton with Dominguez?

But he needs to hit out of it....but yes, you are right, judge isn't hitting and its unfortunate because we REALLY need him now... He needs to do something!!l! This us why you make all that money.... Aaron Judge is not being pitched to. He is either going to swing at a pitcher's pitch, swing out of the zone, or take his walk. There is no protection for him currently. The dropoff in talent between Judge and Wells is too precipitous. It was fine when Wells was hitting, and he was driving Judge in. That hasn't been happening for over a month now. If we want Judge to be productive, sitting him won't fix anything. Swap Judge, and Soto in the order. This should have happened a long time ago. He needs protection.

Judge struggles when he gets time off. He always seems to cool off. Playoff time is loaded with days off. I'm not surprised he's struggling.. it's one of my top HATE aaron boone things.. he gives judge days off when he's hot... Don't.. that cools him off faster than a walk in freezer would.
They're throwing more change-ups to Judge and he can't hit it
@@StatsRob1975 it's not like he can't hit changeups ... he's NOT hitting changeups. But he's not hitting fastballs right down the middle either. I don't understand the talent that is Aaron judge he can go off and hit better than anyone who ever played the game for 4 months ....and believe me that included changeups, and then all of a sudden he can't touch anything. Boone likes to say that ridiculous "it's just baseball", but it's got to be something else.
Forget past post-seasons. This post-season, so far, Judge's timing has clearly been off. Lets not forget, Boone sat him two out of the last three games, and sandwiched in the middle was an 0 for 5 with 5 Ks. One of the worst games of his career. Then he sits a week. But he looked very close to getting back into the groove on Monday night. First AB, drove one the other way to the wall. Got his first hit with a single. And he was fouling off pitches, just missing on a number of them. I think he clicks very soon.
I think him AND stanton click soon, which is why I don't get why anyone thinks sitting him for Dominguez helps Judge or makes sense....

I agree 💯 with you, Jason, regarding Big G v Jasson. Stanton should play. However, I am wondering about the remaining years of Stanton's contract. It is very apparent that G has slowed down even more . I know that is hard to believe. He can not run at all. In fact this past year he is even slower than ever. I am thinking Hal might have to eat the remaining years of his contract. But currently, G has a proven post-season resume. Keep up the great work, sir.

Stanton is hitting .179 since 9/26. He's an absolute liability on the bases. Grisham is a career .169 hitter in the postseason. Judge is going to find it, we have seen it over and over again. We have not seen the same from Stanton.
WE HAVENT SEEN IT IN THE POSTSEASON WITH JUDGE. STANTON'S PLAYOFF STATS ARE BETTER, AND THERE IS NO LOGIC TO SIT HIM FOR DOMINGUEZ.
@@161riverave.4with all due respect, how is there no logic? Stanton is a complete liability on the base paths and isn't hitting at all. I say, and I will gladly admit if I am wrong, give Dominguez a try. We are literally getting nothing out of Stanton right now.
@@MurderersRow315 his stats are better than judges this postseason, and every postseason. Judge is 4th in double plays in 2024 with 22, Stanton is 14th with 17. So the same criticism must be levied upon judge if that’s the argument we’re using with Stanton.

I agree with giving Judge accountability, but if you look at this objectively, especially given his season numbers, who do you really think is going to turn this around first? A great case could be made for Stanton, I know. I think it could go either way here and I think it's going to be Judge. I really don't think he's going to stay down.

Yankee fans. Here’s the reality. Dominguez has the talent of Jackson Merrill. The issue is he hasn’t gotten the reps of the regular season to fully flesh it out and it’s too late to roll the dice at this stage. The logical move is to stand pat with our current lineup cause , like it or not , this is the lineup that got us to the division win. If it ain’t broke , don’t fix it.
As far as Stanton , it’s simple. You need his 3-4 AB’s regardless of his liability on the bases and high K rate because Big G always has the potential to wreck a series with literally one swing. One swing is all you need in the playoffs if you have been watching.
The best of both worlds is if Stanton gets a late inning double, you can always pinch run jasson and then include his bat. Let’s clear our heads , breathe and handle buisness in KC.

As far as Dominguez goes, whoever you put him in over, I wouldn't start him against Lugo. The guy has 9 pitches. Jasson's not ready for that shit. Maybe game 4 against Wacha, but no way I'm starting him against Ragans. Dominguez is trash from the right side. He should either become full time lefty, or they should change his approach from the right side to look to go the other way so he has more time to pick up the ball. Calling him a switch hitter is generous.

Stanton looks better physically this season than he has in the past few years and he has a track record of playing well in October, he needs to be in the lineup. They can always use a pinch runner like Ellis if he gets on base to compensate for base running concerns. Dominguez has been inconsistent with his at-bats as well so he represents a crap shoot obviously and his defense isn't as good as Verdugo. I think the guys are overthinking things by using the pitching simulator equipment/technology and giving it too much value/importance rather than relying upon the natural hitting instincts that got you here. Something just seems off about Judge in general this season, he's either completely locked in and having a great game or he's completely cold with very little in between the two. He's had stretches of the season where he's been on a hot streak and then he goes inexplicably cold which makes no sense but I hope he can figure it out because his bat will be crucial if they make it to the ALCS & hopefully the WS.

Since the Martian is on the playyoff roster, Boone should at least consider using Dominguez as a pinch hitter or DH against some of the Royals right handed pitchers since Jasson looks much better batting from the left side.
