I was inspired. He did not denigrate the Country, our States, or our allies. He spoke about hope and the future, the former guy only denigrated our country, how bad we were and how great he was. Biden spoke in terms of We The People, our possibilities
After tonight, there must be debates. They have to be in soundproof booths with muted mics, but all Americans should witness the differences between these 2 men. Moderators have to be tough and impartial--I don't know who, but people Americans recognize and respect.

I observed Speaker Johnson engaging in an internal struggle as he nodded in agreement with Joe Biden during his speech. It seemed like he was wrestling with his own convictions, torn between his genuine appreciation for what Joe Biden said and an internal conflict as MAGA.

I was talking to a friend before the speech started. She was dreading it, and commented that she hoped she could understand his speech. Mind you, she's a liberal voter... She's always extremely negative towards President Biden. By the end of his speech, she was hyped. Said it was the best speech she's heard... People listen to the mainstream news and get such a negative view. She learned a lesson tonight, and I was thrilled to see the change in her faith in the president.

If he wants to reinstate and protect Roe v. Wade, he also needs to use a Congress majority to expand SCOTUS to 13 - and in a way that doesn't turn into a guaranteed endless back and forth, e.g. legally define it as one Justice per Circuit.
