Normal deers are also opportunistic predator. When food are scarce or when they want to store extra energy, they can and they will eat other creatures. Birds, mouse, chicks, carcasses, to name a few. This is true for most herbivores too. Hippos sometimes hunt for meat (and also engage in cannibalism), horses ransack chicken coop, caterpillars ambushing other smaller insects, etc.
Carnivores also eat plants sometimes. There are many species that is in the carnivore order but mostly eat plant matter. Like giant pandas (gohin lmao), despite having carnivore physiology, they can live just from eating bamboos (with small amount of insects and meat).
The line between carnivores and herbivores isn’t all that clear. Nature is both terifying and fascinating

Here's an interesting video idea, what about one of these second Nature videos on prey? Like how they defend themselves from predators and their tactics? We always see the predators capturing the prey, but we never talk about how the majority of the time the prey usually defends themselves/manage to get away most of the time. That'd be an interesting video for me at least.

I remember a story about a cookie cutter shark biting a woman in the 1980’s

They basically told her she was nuts
And the wound was self inflicted
Years later they discovered cookie cutter sharks
