    You do an excellent job of testing these mics. I really appreciate that, my man. I have the Presonus PD-70 which I absolutely love, and get tons of compliments about. But damn, for the sale price, that comes in at roughly half the normal price of the Presonus, and for folks on a budget, I'd imagine that'd be tough to pass up! Have a great day, dude.

    Bought two of these for our podcast and soon after we bought two Rode Podmics thinking they would boost our audio quality even more. After some audio issues recording today’s episode, we decided to test them against our original Fduce mics. Long story short, there was no noticeable improvement with the Rode mics and some of us preferred the Fduce recordings. The Rode mic’s are being returned - they were $139 each (Cdn) compared to $55 each for Fduce.

    I have been pretty content with my vmoda 3.5mm headphone mic. Combined with Nvidia Broadcasts background noise removal, it really sounds much better than it has any right to.
    But I'm making a switch to full time remote work and want to come across as professional as possible for career reasons. This seems to be the route I'll likely go. What would you suggest for an audio interface? Mostly for meetings and some online gaming. Don't need anything fancy at all. Would the entry level offerings from M-Audio or Behringer be all that's needed in your opinion for $40 - $60ish?
    If so that is a relatively small price for such a massive improvement. I've also gone from using a run of the mill Logitech webcam to using my old OnePlus 6T for the webcam and with a minor amount of Broadcasts background blur it honestly looks really nice for a budget setup.
    Awesome work on the video by the way, very professional.

When i use the USB to record on my phone, all functions works great, mute button works, mic reduces background noise, and sound is completely fine. Once I use the usb to connect to my laptop, mute button is not working, mic collect all background noise and sound is loud, it's a bit better if I reduce volume to the minimum but still collecting background and mute not working. • @LowDoughTech
      @LowDoughTech  Рік тому

      I'm not an expert for setting up a mic for singing, but as I understand it, you will want to use a cardioid condenser mic for singing, which will be much more sensitive to a fuller range of sounds. This mic is more for podcasting, and its strength is in filtering out unwanted background noise.
      I like the sound of this mic for spoken word, but it does not sound accurate to what my voice actually sounds like. This gives me an artificial "bassy/boomy" sound. It probably wouldn't be good for capturing accurate singing vocals.

      I love them both, but I personally give it to the Q9U, but only because of the recent drop in price to around $120. You do indeed get a lot more options with the Q9U with the low filter and mid-boost. If the Q9U were still priced at $200, I would buy the SL40 just because of the great value, but at $120, the Q9U squeaks out the win, in my opinion.

    Just getting into podcasting and wondering why people choose these over things like rode ntg that captures audio and sits out of the frame?

    • @LowDoughTech
      @LowDoughTech  2 роки тому

      Noise isolation is a huge reason you would chose a dynamic microphone. Especially if you are recording more than one person speaking. A dynamic microphone will make your voice sound a lot smoother/warmer, generally the closer to your mouth the better. A dynamic microphone will also be more forgiving on peaking and plosives. I didn't run any filters or EQ in this video (until the end) but after it's EQ'd properly, the right dynamic mic will sound smooth as butter.
      You --could-- use a shotgun mic like the Rode NTG, but you're setting yourself up for a lot of problems that could just be easily avoided. With a dynamic mic, you don't need to worry as much about how well your recording area is sound treated, and you wouldn't have to (potentially) do as much post-cleanup.
      All of these points are especially important if you're setting up specifically for a podcast, where the product is your voice, and video is secondary. I used to want a mic out of the shot, too, but then I realized that microphones are cool, and actually make the shot more interesting. :)
