Thanks for the overview. My impression is the magazine is aimed more towards those starting their parkrun journey/getting into running. I imagine parkrunners will pick one up at an event out of curiosity but as they are already there it's not that demographic who need to be convinced.
Thanks Danny. As we won’t get the magazine in Ireland, it was great to see your quick run through and first impressions. It comes across as one of those generic health and well-being inserts you see in the weekend papers.
Good review. Very much appreciated. As you talk about vanilla and down the middle, Dudley Parkrun is literally middle of the country! Wonder how they got picked?
@@philippadelnon7635 yes, it’s a real shame buggies can’t use the course, but understandable with the thin towpath which is used in both directions & the disused railway track which you cross 2/3rds of the way round
Thanks for the preview. I’ve had the magazine a few weeks now but after a quick flick through I still haven’t read it & now I don’t actually think I need to. I’m not their target audience though but now I want to find someone who is so I can pass it on.
I guess the acid test for the target demographic is "would they pick it up if they saw it in the doctor's surgery / pharmacy / mum and toddler group" (etc).
The question is are there enough topics to cover regarding parkrun for this to be published biannually. it's possible they can improve on each edition.
A thanks for your review but do we think it is designed for those who occasionally go to parkrun or who have never experienced it rather than the addicts/obsessives like us? We need no encouragement!
Good review. Thanks Danny.
Surprised at the font for the parkrun , Testing/teasing a change in the future for the parkrun logo/name ?
Yep looks suspiciously like a test branding change

I'd probably read all of it, looks good for me. Obviously I love forest runs (my home is a forest run) and I like to visit other ones.

cant you just get hold of the electronic version?
Happy and sad in equal measures to see Tring parkrun featured on the back page.

I'm local but haven't done it as buggies aren't allowed. But I have to say I'm gutted as on the website it looks like a really interesting course!

Definitely something to pass on
Why do they handwrite parkrun? The original typeface of parkrun is so lovely and recognizable. It seems like it's not the original parkrun!
