I love good old fashioned whole pickled shallots - took months to perfect the flavour. Whole family joined in peeling shallots - great day. Pickle vinegar over them and wait for weeks. Opened at Christmas time, along with the piccalilli (another family occasion to make it and stank the house out. Right ploughman’s lunch in our house was pickled onions, piccalilli, slices of home cooked ham, slices of homemade pork pie, Cheshire cheese, crusty rolls and butter, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, watercress. That’a proper ploughman’s, not faffing about, Ramsay. And my Uncle was a champion ploughman, too.
I'll take this for my last meal on death row over anything else.

I made this today and it was great. I made beer soaked dinner rolls instead of small bread loaves. Next time I will use cucumber instead of celery. The pickled onions were much better than I thought they would be.

Im now convinced he has every ingredient possible to cook with in his kitchen. Been watching his channel for long time now and he seems to have everything. Also his ingredients are top notch. Lots of us dont have that type of access to some of these ingredients or that fresh of produce or meat or fish.
Ever thought he might just go out and buy the ingredients he needs for each dish?

What I love about Gordon Ramsay is everything he does is planned. He gives thought to his recipes with a finite product in mind. A true master.

Ramsay is clearly truly talented. I hope one day I will have the insight and experience to be able to come up with unique twists on classic dishes like this! I didn't even know bread could be made with beer like that... god I love food.

It's not for breakfast; it's for lunch. But yeah, beer pretty early in the day, although you're not drinking it. Some beer on the side would be great, though.
