Funnily enough I felt I got a better appreciation of how the nib writes from that angle as it moved away most of the time. I also read upside down equally as well as the right way up. 🤣
A handsome pen. While I love the look of writing with the BBB -- or even just a B -- from the hand of someone whose writing is grand enough, I've discovered that my undergrad and masters formation in my twenties, when I economized on scrap paper with a tiny lettering style, has made it difficult for my to sustain a large style even through my entire signature. Ah, well, there are nibs for me, too!
I have to correct you, ‘Scribofiel’ as I am. This is not based on the (faceted) Feel, but on the (rounded) Dotta. The Feel is even more expensive. But an absolute super duper pen😎🤪 I don’t like the sound of the nib, but that can be solved I think. It does work very very good for your handwriting! Awesome nib!
@@katjaengelkamp3452 Yes. The ebonite has a wonderful feel. And, it is a pretty big pen. It is longer than the MB 149 uncapped by half a centimeter. But a Scribo is a Scribo. Anything that can come close to an OMAS nib, and I'm instantly curioius.
I likr this pen! It has all you would want, except comfort in the hand. The portico architectural detail of the hand milled barrel and cap was an interesting idea. The triple broad nib made me want to sing with it! LOL. I love it when a pen sings, as well as when it has feedback since its as though each pen has its own voice. The only thing that is a deal breaker are the grooves, they would drive me to agitation. I like a pen that is comfortable to write with.
Good review, Stephen. Scribo makes some wonderful pens, no doubt about it. This pen is a Scribo Dotta, not the Scribo Feel model. Yes, they are expensive, but all Scribo pens are limited editions. I believe the Scribo Feel line is super-limited to 100 or less any one model, so if you see one you really like, you need to buy it before it's sold out. You either like Scribo pens or you don't, irrespective of the issue of cost. I like them, but the Scribo La Dotta Domus model doesn't appeal to me, not because of the ridges, but because of the solid black color. So many Scribos have really beautiful colors, whether a single color or a mixture.
Grip/Sections are a “touchy” subject for sure! (No pun intended!🤣🖋). I regret my purchase of a Faber-Castell Essentio in Rose Aluminum. The grip section is cold hard unforgiving aluminum. Pretty to look at. Terrible to hold. Living multiple states away from the nearest fountain pen store has some downsides. Love your videos and I appreciate your detailed in-depth analysis! Thank you! 🖋👏🙋🏼♀️
i love this nib so much, but I think I love your reaction even more. I don't even know how many times I have watched this video. I think the pen looks really cool, and I feel like one has to hold this pen in hand to know if the section would be a problem. It might feel really weird to feel the ridges as you write, and one might not even notice it if they get into the "writing zone" which I am sure is so possible with a nib like this.
Promise me Stephen if you ever have a pen line or pen company that you will have the logo be a “stick” lol, and it can’t get groovy enough for me( cue in groove is in the heart by Deee-Lite, great review Stephen
Singing nibs drive me more nutty than I normally am. How does one stop a nib from singing, other than don’t write with it. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Love the beauty of the pen. The shape, the grooves in the body, the nib (squeaky to say the least) and a piston filler. I do not use broad nibs, much less a triple broad. I may look at the flex EF nib, though. The price is not as exorbitant as I expected. It is still pricey but the quality of the pen justifies the price and is certainly lower than other premium brands. Great review, Stephen.
What material is it made from? Is it black? How did you find the piston operation? I like the curves, and I definitely like the nib, but although that means for great writing, somehow overall it's not a attractive combination. Will those grooves attract dirt or need cleaning? They are a bit unsettling. Anyway thanks everso!!
As always with Scribo, the single tone, tacky nib stamping belongs on a 50 cent pen for children, not on a €500 luxury item(probably more like €600+ with the BBB). I can't look past it when I'm spending that much money on a pen, especially when that nib had such a gorgeous design in its former dual tone Paragon arrow guise.
For the love of pens, why, why, WHY couldn't the machines, the celluloid rods, and the name OMAS have gone to just 1 company? Even if Scribo wanted to use the name Scribo (which is kind of cool), if they owned everything, it would have been better.
LOL - Dr. Brown is working upside down (again)!
Thanks for another informative review.

He's only giggling because of the lack of gravity of the situation 😀
Thank you for the great review Stephen!
That nib is delightful! I wouldn't give that nib unit back lol
😂😂😂 Sounds like a Sharpie! 🎉
Love how it writes - luscious! Serenity Blue 😊

Very nice!
"La dotta" means with knowledge, learned. Which is the root of the word "dottore"(doctor).
The all name is mix of Italian and Latin.
Was this filmed in Australia because the writing sample was upside down?
Already eyeing a Scribo for a long time. The BBB is tempting, but am wondering about the flexy 14k nibs and how soft they are.

I want a SCRIBO Feel so much, but it's so expensive, so I got a Santini Libra ebonite instead.
@@ironmic9244 The Santini Libra is a very beautiful pen, well made, nice in the hand, with wonderful in house nibs! Great value for money

Is the base for Scribo nibs a jowo or are they fully in-house?

Goulet has a video that explains how to fix it.

Oh no, I could not live with a fountain pen that sounds like a 70s Tempo felt tip! 😄
219 or 290 limited edition - how many. A singing nib, play some Italian opera - Pavarotti when using it.
Yep that one has to be held, as the grooves seem like they would hurt. But then who am I kidding, being a lefty this nib would just be trouble🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Pelikan Hub last night? When was this taped?
The day after the Pelikan Hub.
@@sbrebrown I noticed the pen is already sold. That went fast. I was ready to buy it. I loved that nib. The width, the singing. Did you buy it?
it sounds like writing with a sharpie.
I’m guessing before you returned it you flushed it out with your tears.

Am I standing on my head, or are you?
acting more like a music nib
Are you drunk?
my man. my guy. maybe you can send me one of these. I'll send some of mine back, but they'll be cheap as hell
