I wish they would make an A4 Allroad style EV rather than big SUVs. A sporty feeling EV road tripping wagon would be amazing.

Unfortunately the wagon A6 Etron won’t come to the states, yet we will get the sportback which is pretty close in utility and arguably better looking (and likely more aerodynamic).

@mrstinky2421 The Ioniq 5 is my first pick so far. I'm still waiting for better range and charging on EVs in general, especially in my area as anything above 50kw chargers are few and far between on most of my normal road trip destinations. Now that the 2025's are NACS though, maybe it's about time to jump in.

@IamCorrosive Well, if I had that kinda money I'd probably get a gas car and not care about how expensive gas is where I am.

I took delivery of an SQ6 Prestige Edition One just before Thanksgiving in Los Angeles, and I’m absolutely in love with it.
This is my first EV, but my eighth Audi-my most recent two leases were SQ5s, which I adored. The SQ6 has far exceeded my expectations. Unlike the guys in this video, I appreciate the slightly rougher ride the 21” wheels and tighter suspension brought in by Dynamic mode, I even like the pumped-in motor noise. Despite the sportier setup, the ride is smooth-no spilled Starbucks here.
The new MMI is fantastic. For the first time, I prefer using the built-in navigation over CarPlay. It’s fast and detailed. Apparently there are 800 commands the voice assistant will recognize but I really only use it for navigation and climate control as there is no fan speed button in the climate control menu unless click into the full climate menu which is annoying. I like that the display is customizable by being able to move the icons for commonly used apps over to the home bar. The heads-up display (the first I’ve had in a car) is also cool-it can be adjusted up or down, I keep it tucked away low on the windshield. Mine has not gotten speed limit signs and I think the blue navigation arrows work great. The interior overall is bitchin’. The ambient lighting is fun to customize.
The adaptive cruise control is significantly better than what I had in my SQ5. It’s far more powerful. It keeps control thru far more turns than before (though the guys are right, it will drop out of longer deeper turns) but when paired with the MMI Nav it knows when it needs to slow down such as ok off ramps.
While I can’t compare the charging speed to other EVs, I feel like my car wraps up much faster than neighboring cars at the charging station. Also Audi gave me 1 year of free charging at Electrify America, I think that’s a perk everyone gets.
The B&O sound system is as great as ever, and the headrest speakers are a cool addition. Opposite to what the guys in the video say, I think the seat massagers are a bit aggressive for my taste, they really dig in even on low intensity. The seats and steering wheel heat up quickly. Overall, the interior design is very Audi, lux yet not over the top.
So this is where haters gonna hate. I did run into an issue with the Audi Connect app and remote features, but the dealership is working on it while I’m out of town on family holiday. I’m short, the phone app and the car have stopped talking to each other. It has something to do with the car talking to Audis backend systems but I won’t know the full extent until it’s fixed. As an early adopter I am fine with this, it’s to be expected.
In short, if you’ve been waiting for an electric (S)Q5, the SQ6 is worth the upgrade. It’s pricey compared to some competitors, but the build quality, design, and driving experience make it worth it (I recently sat in a Tesla and was so bored by its stripped down interior, it should be priced significantly less than something like an SQ6). I don’t see myself ever going back to an ICE Audi.

Great review! I just wanted to share a few additional points for your international audience, as some statements differ in Europe:
Massage Seats: In Europe, you can configure massage seats on the Q6 e-tron. (Sport Seat Plus) This does not have ventilation
Power Differences: The Q6 e-tron in the US has more power compared to the European version.
Audi e-tron GT: The updated Audi e-tron GT now shares the same updated platform as the Porsche Taycan.
Charging Curve: I have the full charging curve for the Supercharger V3.5 available in the EVKX database.
Plug-and-Play Charging: Plug-and-play functionality works seamlessly in Europe.
OLED Lights: OLED taillights are available as an option for the Q6 e-tron in Europe.
Once again, fantastic review, and thanks for your hard work!

I have an SQ6 on order, drove a Q6 and played with an SQ6 (not the config I want). There is a LOT of customization available, some of which would address complaints in the video. I've read the online manual "cover to cover" several times, and will probably need to do it again. The most annoying thing is that the first cars Audi ships are almost all Magnet Gray and Arctic White (?), both non-metallic. Color selection in the US is limited to gray, white, two blues and black, whereas Europe gets more choices. The 21" wheels come with the Edition One option package on the SQ6, which both the SQ6s at my dealer have, and I DO NOT WANT THEM. I think the ride would feel much different on 20" or even 19" wheels.

    • @SteveLionel
      @SteveLionel 2 дні тому +1

@@mackos007 I thought it was fine. The SQ6 I looked at had the all-leather seats, and I like the quilted look. (The other seat choice with "Dinamica" and leather is also quilted.) The Dinamica and carbon fiber on the dash was nice. I'm not a fan of piano black, but it didn't offend me. It doesn't look like Audis of old, but I vastly prefer it to the "iPad mounted to the dash" approach of many EVs. I don't at all like the look of the fill panel if you don't have the passenger display, though it would probably improve with some CF-look wrap applied.

Great job Jordan. It looks like a great car that is two years late. Ideally Audi would be releasing the Q8 e-tron on PPE now with all the bells and whistles. The options packaging simply does not make sense here. No soft close doors, no massage seats? Has Audi abdicated the luxury title?

  • @sickset
    @sickset 3 дні тому +3

Thank you Jordan and Logan for this video. This was the EV I was excited for most this year, given that I wanted to get into an Audi EV with newer updated tech and range. The Q8 was just too dated, as much as I loved the drive of both the Q8 etron and especially the SQ8 etron. Feels like the Q6/SQ6 is getting lost in between the Macan and now the Polestar 3.
While still solid and my pick of the three, it doesn't seem like it excels in anything above those two. Despite how expensive the Macan EV can get, I can see folks looking at a loaded SQ6 and considering with going with a base Macan EV or Macan 4 EV. In Canada SQ6 is around 107Kish CAD and I am seeing base Macan 4 EVs going for 114K CAD (Macan 4 w/ Premium pack) And with the Polestar 3 (atleast here in Canada) they have way more aggressive rates on lease ie: 0.99%. Where the Q6/SQ6 is still at 6%+ (can lease a 2024 Etron GT at same/even lower cost)
It is funny how mum Audi is about the RWD version. They did the same thing with the Q4 45 RWD. Dealers had no idea about them, said they wouldn't get any because it was just to get the federal tax credit by hitting the low MSRP, and now suddenly they all have 3-5 units in stock of the RWD. Looks like the same pattern with the Q6 RWD lol.

I have a Q6 Prestige on order. US deliveries to port on Prestige trim models will start 3rd week of Jan 2025. Other trim models are here now. I have had a q55 Edition One since 2019 and have about 74,000 miles logged. It is the most luxurious riding vehicle I have ever owned. BUT.... So many issues during ownership, including a motor replacement, mmi control unit failure, and just last week a battery control module failure. I managed to get AUDI to pay for all these issues and I am thankful for that because if not, it would so far have run me over $18,000 out of pocket to repair!!
So it's time to leave the Q55 and not for a Q8. I'm sure the Q6 Prestige will be a little of a letdown in fit/finish/comfort but will test drive beforehand and see. I was wondering about the leather quality in the Q6 prestige you tested with the headrest speakers and ventilation (which I believe is the warm weather package). Did you find it on par quality-wise to the Q8? Q8 softer? Q6 comfortable? Can you comment on your experience in both regarding seats. Great review video, and thanks!

Hi Jordan. As I read the PDF, the dealer is supposed to set up PnC for the customer - or at least help with it. On page 2 (Summary) it states: “Please support your customer by taking the time for setting this up for them……” So something that AUDI is obviously aware of can cause problems. The problem is and will therefore be - perhaps a little unfairly, the dealer's. We also know that many dealers are not "fully in the loop" yet, and may not have the necessary knowledge about EVs.
But having a process that should actually be very simple, but that takes 40 minutes - is downright stupid. It can and must be improved.

Jordan, thank you for an excellent first drive review of the Audi Q6 E-tron. When it comes to Audi it seems that no matter the exterior color, no matter the model, no matter the price; when you open the door all you see is Black. For some people a black interior says "high tech", but for me Audi's black interiors are "depressing". I've seen available interior colors like Cedar Brown and Beige in the Audi configurator but car review videos are Basic Black so far. I'll keep an eye out for Audi interior diversity.

This vehicle would be acceptable - but only if it was not a jellybean and had an ICE motor. As a jellybean and an EV - it is Crap.

It' such a "meh" looking vehicle. Common Audi, for the money people want to drive something more visually interesting (see China).

Dude have you seen out of spec before. Kyle monologues for about 75% of every video. Cut Jordan some slack.

Yeah if I had shown the car and talked then people would complain about not seeing me talk. Can’t win!

Only lease a ev if its brand new. Resale value is horrendous

Nobody buys an Audi new. They are almost all leased. Even gas cars. Depreciation is nothing new to premium European cars.

@ ev depreciation is on another level and it’s even worse when it’s a luxury ev.

Disagree, that’s not how Out of Spec works. There’s plenty of short videos on this car with minimal detail. We go into every single thing which simply takes time. If you want a 10 min read of the press release, go to Audi’s website. 👍🏼
