Thanks for tunes. Saw them in Ballyshannon during my 6 month bike tour
Dé Danann,I loved (and saw) you in the 70s, and I love your music now!
This is a true gem thanks so much I’ve waited for a digitized version for ages ❤️
I am so glad that I am of service, then! Funnily, I found this record in the wild, while record-digging in Munich during last holidays! Does you UA-cam name refer to J.R. "Bob" Dobbs' pipe by any chance?
@@fili-tis-petaloudas it really is great to see you preserving these traditons.
but really this is first pure folk record that i have heavily enjoyed in my whole life -- great thanks.
I am so glad to hear that, my friend, and thank you for your support in general. I ended up being a "folkie," after many years digging into hip-hop samples, which led me to jazz, which led me to jazz-prog, which led me to prog-folk, which led me to folk... now I guess I listen to folk more often than I do hip-hop! And I absolutely agree, that's the *real* dance music for me as well. I've been to (electronic/mainstream) dance music parties and I was just bored to death...

Supreme, greatly appreciated, Chris - I have also updated the description and gave you credits for the timestamps. If you chance in Edinburgh, let me know - I owe you a pint.
@@fili-tis-petaloudas Sad to say, I've never been to Edinburgh. Now I have an added incentive to go!
@@milesnagopaleen And I'll be happy to act as (folk) pub guide!
Saw them at Cambridge folk festival. Brilliant
Very good 🙋♂️👍🙏
Listened to the hole album 😎....it been a very long time
since I have listen to whole albums right through. 🤔
Thank you kind sir 🙏👍🙋♂️
Oh, that's so good to hear! Although I used to love making my own lists, as I grow up, I appreciate full albums more and more, they are like rituals! Thank you!
There you go!I was the opposite😁 as a child I listened to hole albums..🤔 I suppose I'm just completing a full circle.
now that is what i call dance music!
Thank you so much for sharing this history!
Always a pleasure, thanks for stopping by!
I used to have that album, I think I bought it in the late 70s, I was still in school at the time, Christ I'm old :( It was so long ago when Charlie Piggott used to play the banjo, but is now better known as a melodeon player. I've toured with him many times since. As far as I know the late Alec Finn (R.I.P.) did the artwork for the album sleeve, notice the spelling mistake? Dé Dannan instead of Dé Danann????
Thanks Niall, honoured to read your words. Time flies! I have added some of the info you provided to the video description, acknowledging you, of course.
The Black Sabbath of trad
