TheShameofaNation I’ve been one of the lucky few to see him live. On my 10th or 11th birthday my dad took me to see them live. It was incredible and I can only pray to see them live again one day.
I swear to god, he passed me at Green Man Festival, in 2014, in Wales, wasn’t wearing his usual hat, and smiled at me, and made my day! I’m sure it was him, lol.
This guys' music meant so much to me at one point, I listened to ITAOTS for nearly an entire year without listening to anything else. It was a time of aesthetic bliss and I've been trying to get back to that magical feeling but it's gone and nowhere to be found! Listening to this music now, I still really like it, but the magic is missing.
@@Reionder maybe try and hop off it for a few months I do only listen to the full album every couple of months and I cry every time you need time to get it out of your system and then you can experience it again not like the first time though
Probably the triangle shirtwaist company fire where a bunch of women were working in a factory that got set on fire. The stairs were blocked and rather than burn to death most of them jumped off of the roof to their deaths.
Being mid-peak and hearing this immediately after Oh Comely made you have 20 panic attacks all at once is an amazing experience. It's calming to the fragile ego. I don't think I heard the lyrics before then either, and definitely not anything they might have meant.
The two people who disliked this are lactose intolerant.
I bet these guys were a blast seeing live, this song specifically. The building tempo gets me pumped, perfect for doing cardio with.

Julian Koster is my hero. Any brother that can rock a bowl cut and look good while doing it deserves respect
The way scott rocks the neck beard is even more impressive.

The drummer speeds up the tempo sometime before the third stanza and all instruments go along except Jeff Mangum.
My favourite from ITAOTS. Lyrically and what he accomplishes with 3 chords. Now I know I'll never be afraid, Da de da de da dum...

steurun The same happened to me... I go back to these but I can't feel as much as I felt when I first listened to them
That's why you shouldn't listen to something that much. The problem is, this album is too perfect to not listen to it every single day
Kinda gay bro

I even forgot this song was on that album, even though I own it. I heard this song on a radio show today.
oh man. NMH at the knitting factory, on that tiny stage, in that microscopic room, must have been life-altering.
Rest in eternal peace Anne knowing your spirit won't ever die.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made

The best 12 bar blues since straight no chaser
scott's beard is even more epic now.
